  1. Tell that to my DH who is a retired USN Captain. He doesn't normally get seasick, but returning from a 7 month deployment years ago that they spent 90% of their time at sea, he got sick one day. Everyone has their motion, regardless of how much they cruise.
  2. My generic is chewable. I guess I'm lucky that I can take 1-2 per day (2 only when necessary) and it doesn't make me drowsy. I do try to take my once a day at night before bed. I start taking it the morning of. I used to start the night before, but I found starting day of works for me. And, as I said above in a previous post, it's not for after you feel sick.
  3. Just read where Devil's island port call is cancelled due to swells/weather that make it too risky to tender. 3 more days at sea.
  4. Out of Baltimore there always was an overflow lol. Vision class almost always has an overflow.
  5. A lot of items are thrown out. Room stewards don't necessarily check safes. But, cruisers should.
  6. Enchantment is also longer than Vision so that's how they added extra cabins. It just means public spaces are more crowded, unfortunately. Even though EN has two outdoor pools, it still has the same solarium, centrum, theater and dining room.
  7. We always eat in Chops on boarding day on the smaller ships when it's open. On Jewel in Oct, it wasn't. We prefer it to the madhouse in the WJ with people who eat and then sit there. On Jewel we grabbed something at Cafe Lattetudes, and we waited until cabins opened and then we went and grabbed something in the WJ.
  8. Never seen Canada Dry ginger ale on Royal.
  9. I don't use ginger. Meclizine works great for me with zero side effects. Don't fix it if it isn't broken. But, the point is, people mistakenly believe ginger ale has ginger in it. That's all I was saying.
  10. Free, not really. We all paid for it, but i prefer to have my own so I don't have to go get it. It's really cheap to buy the generic and more than worth it. I also take it correctly by taking it everyday. You can't wait til you need it because then it's too late.
  11. I get the generic meclizine on Amazon. 100 tablets for like $7.
  12. I agree it's very rare but the only way to 100% avoid it is not book gty's. There are no "tips".
  13. We've been on Vision twice, once out of Baltimore a few years ago when she was there for a short time and once out of Tampa (hit ABC's then). We're back onboard her in April for a 16 night b2b. We were some of the ones that had the 12 night cancelled on us for Vision drydock so we tacked another 8 night onto our already 8 night one. We cruise out of Baltimore quite a bit. At least 15 times since 2009. It is the easiest port and since we live in No VA, we drive day of as it takes under 1.5 hours to get there. Anyway, interested to see more photos and info. We have friends who just got off and posted some, but we can use more.
  14. It would help if the ginger ale actually had ginger in it. Most do not.
  15. Meclizine (Bonine) once per day, twice if seas are rough works for me, but as you said Bonine knocks you out. It's a good way to fall asleep lol. The patch has it's own set of issues for some people. Blurry vision being one. The bands did nothing for me.
  16. A man my DH works with has performed on a couple of cruises, not as a solo act but part of an ensemble with some solos. He plays saxophone I think. Anyway, he and his DW have fallen in love with cruising. They go a couple of times a year for him to perform. Don't get me started on misbehaving kids and parents who ignore it. Why do they think they'll hurt their child's esteem by correcting them? Or is it, they think they paid for their cruise so their kids can do what they want? With so few children onboard you'd think you wouldn't have issues. As far as ipads and phones are concerned, there is no reason to have one out. There's really no need to record a show. It's disruptive to others and you miss so much when you are busy trying to record. The kids were probably bored with the show. When you take your family on a cruise, you need to sometimes sacrifice what you want for everyone's comfort. It's also a good time to teach manners.
  17. I had a sinus infection over a year ago on EN. A lot of people were coughing. On our Oct/Nov Jewel b2b, I had a cold for a few days. On one trip on EN in 2022, we were part of a large group (anniversary of friends) and one person out of 25 came back with Covid. All our other trips, post Covid, neither us or our traveling companions have caught it. DH and I have never had it as far as we know. We also don't test so unless it was really mild or symptomless we haven't. As for flu, I don't know anyone who has had it this year.
  18. In all our 38 cruises, we have never had Grenada on the itinerary.
  19. Ours were all combined until Jewel in Oct/Nov when we had a lot of Pinns and D+ onboard.
  20. They just seem to be doing a lot in the first couple of weeks so you have to wonder.
  21. There's a couple of Caribbean island that requires a passport for cruisers. Martinique is one.
