  1. Nope. Two completely different set ups. Porters taking incoming luggage are only doing that and will be nowhere near luggage that is leaving. Luggage brought off the ship is sitting in the terminal in a room that is only accessible by those departing. Passengers only mingle outside the terminal and those leaving already have their luggage at that point.
  2. "Well-behaved" is very, very subjective. Absolutely nothing wrong with adults only which it is and has been. They only moved the age to more appropriate for "adult" to 18. The other issue is loungers in the Solarium. I don't get the mentality that kids have to be EVERYWHERE adults are. Have some parents never heard of delayed gratification and looking forward to something that you'll be able to do in the future? If you want to attend drag shows among other themes, then by all means go on Virgin. This is not about an adult only cruise. It's about having ONE location onboard that is for adults. BTW, please go watch some YT videos on Virgin and let me know what you think. Virgin is really geared towards the younger adult and party crowd.
  3. After our parking experiences the last two cruises out of PC I think we'll make sure we're over there by 930 and hang out for a bit. We're on Wonder in Jan for a b2b. We normally get the first check in time (plus we're always in a JS so can technically arrive earlier than our time) so not that long a wait. We don't drink Bloody Mary's but going to Grills is always an option. Worse case, we can sit and read for a bit outside the terminal.
  4. For Chrome on my Google pixel phone, if I open up CC and then click on a persons "name", it shows join date and post count there. The info is readily available. Not like you have to dig down. It's public info and easily found. Either way, that person acting like it was stalking when in reality it's right there is weird to me.
  5. Or like us, always have late dining esp on a ship that doesn't have Sorrentos or other places to get snacks, the DL helps with that.
  6. There are limited loungers in most of the solariums, especially on the smaller, older ships.
  7. Def back in the Safari club. We did Caribbean on Jewel last year and other than setting up for the art auction some days, it's usually pretty empty. There are also seats all around the Centrum. Also, the Viking Crown (Vortex) is where we go sometimes. Schooner bar is usually quiet during the day. We're back on Jewel in three weeks and expect it to be too cold to sit outside and read (which we prefer) so we usually sit in the VCL or DL. As long as we don't get a guy like we had on EN in April who watched videos on his phone without ear buds.
  8. The admin is banning people for making ONE negative comment or post. My question is, what exactly is considered "negative"? It's very subjective and a couple of people got into a tizzy yesterday over several posts. Yes, there were pot stirrers that were just trying to get people going, but seriously? You're feelings are hurt because strangers on the internet aren't being "nice" to you or aren't only saying "positive" things? I mean, seriously, some posters were beside themselves over really stupid things.
  9. No one said party zone and it never has been. It's supposed to be a place for adults to get away. Sometimes it's very quiet. Sometimes there are people in the hot tubs talking loudly.
  10. The only new part of this is the age. Solarium has been adult only as long as we've been cruising on Royal, so not new. Nothing wrong with having an adult only area. You pay for the cruise too, but you can't just go inside the kids area. It's kind of like around here, there are some adult only wineries and at least one winery that has an adult only building and patio with a great view and a separate spot a couple hundred yards away for families and those under 21. Adult only area is always packed so we go early to get a table with an umbrella. I've seen families asked to leave.
  11. I was informed on here several years ago that the Solarium is not a quiet spot and that people are in there to have a good time, you know, even if it infringes on others. The reason it's adult is so adults have ONE space they can be in without worrying about kids being around. Whether it's language or whatever. Kids have their own space that adults can't go into.
  12. LOL. Everyone says their kid is more mature than others their age. I understand as I had two responsible boys that are now very responsible men, but they were still teenagers.
  13. I've posted a couple of links in the last two weeks from the RC blog site and both were approved.
  14. We almost booked it too, but I had a feeling about September and seas lol. So, we booked the 10 day NB and 10 day SB. Quebec City, PEI, Saguenay, Sydney NS, Portland, Boston, some not visited very often by Royal so we could be in the same "boat". We know of at least 30 b2bers and those are just the ones that post on our roll call on CC and on FB. So, I'm expecting a lot of experienced cruisers. We personally know 4 Pinns that will be onboard. Two are our tablemates that we met last year on another cruise and two are people we met several years back on GR and have met up with on several cruises and all 4 are b2b. These are two one way cruises that require a passport. 2500 is capacity. I think double occupancy is closer to 2100.
  15. We're on the same b2b as Dragon is. It's a 10 night CL to Quebec City and a 10 night back to CL. It is definitely going to be an older demographic. I doubt we'll have many children or young adults based on the itinerary and time of year.
  16. I didn't say it would. I just think that Virgin is a unique product and is definitely not for everyone. Their shows don't appeal to us at all and the party atmosphere is really geared towards under 50's. Funny thing is, Royal is investing in the demographic that complains that baby boomers have all the money and that cruising is so expensive.
  17. I do not use checks at stores, but have written several this year as we sold one house and purchased another and had work done on both. A couple of the handymen/contractors we use don't take credit cards. Also, I wonder what people do when they have major work done on a property but they don't have enough credit on a card? Some businesses charge a fee if you use a credit card, so writing checks isn't really outdated. I do pay a couple of bills via check, but most are autopay now. We live in a 55+ community and pay our clubhouse restaurant/bar and HOA bills online, but most of the older crowd here pay via check. They still accept checks dropped off at the clubhouse. A few I've met have no idea how to do anything else. We no longer have a mortgage. For a vacation, we always bring cash from home to use for small purchases and extra tips. DH and I divide it up between each wallet and one other location to carry. I don't want to have to go get in line to cash a check onboard.
  18. As long as they don't go the way Virgin has.
  19. But, not the loungers or the pool itself. I've seen kids asked to leave both on EN and GR. Funny thing is, outside of the pizza and cookies most of what they serve is things most kids wouldn't care about.
  20. It should have always been 18. We enjoy sitting and reading. Our last EN cruise we couldn't be in the Solarium because they don't open the roof and if I'm going to sweat, I'll do it outside lol.
  21. Where are they putting them and when do they plan to be open? I knew it had been discussed for a while. We weren't the only ones affected over the last couple of years..
  22. Last Nov we arrived around 1015 am and the T5 garage was full and as we were waiting in line to park, they started filling the small employee lot which filled up quickly. We ended up parked on the outside of the fence around the small lot. We were b2b and were concerned about that but the parking guy swore our car would be fine. On turn around day we made sure our car was still there ( we could see it from the ship). We had no receipt because the guys handheld ran out of paper and when he tried to reprint it, it wouldn't come up. What had happened was we were the first cruise back after a TA (Jewel) and the arriving cars were at least twice what they expected so the lot filled up early. They were putting cars wherever they could. We're back in PC on Wonder at T1 in Jan and plan to arrive early even if it means sitting in our car for a bit. Last time we were out of T1 on Harmony in Nov 2021 we had to park in overflow, right next to the terminal fortunately (before they filled that and went to the farther lot). They need to add a couple more parking garages at PC as they have added some ships. We always have our car with us.
  23. Remember you won't be midship ALL the time. You will be in different places onboard. Most people use their cabin to sleep, shower and change with maybe an hour or two relaxation or something. There's always motion, it just varies from not really noticeable to very noticeable. Even when you think there is no motion, there is. And, no not all inside cabins have virtual balconies.
  24. We've never done it, but to me it just seems strange. Probably funny to watch, but otherwise, especially now as I can't really dance due to a knee issue, we don't go to any dance parties anymore. Sucks that at 63 and previously very active I can't participate.
