  1. When you get the all included package with classic beverage & wifi do you have to pay an extra separate price for tips? If you upgrade to the premium package do you pay extra for tips also? Thanks everyone
  2. When you book the celebrity beverage & wifi package do you have to pay extra for tips? Or is it included in the package price?
  3. We are on the July 7 sailing. Native NYer here. I drive back & forth to LI all the time. No traffic to Bayonne if you leave early Sunday am. The later you leave, the more traffic.
  4. We tested positive 10 days before our cruise so had to cancel. We took paxlovid & that helped me a lot but it must be taken within 5 days of symptoms. Hubby got covid also, took paxlovid bur than got a rebound. I had the worst headache of my life with covid. Was coughing a lot. It was like a very bad virus for about 5 days than got better. Back to normal now. So I hate when people say it's only mild. Mine was considered mild also but I was the sickest I have been with it in over 40 years. So I hope you feel better soon. How many people do you think got it on board?
  5. Get a helinox chair & bring from home. Lightweight at 2lbs & folds up small. My husband built a leg support out of PVC pipe so it diesnt sunk in the sand . I hike with it often so I can sit. Well worth it. Buy the real thing & not amazon knockoffs because metal poles not sturdy on the knockoffs
  6. The bottom line is celebrity did not want to spend the money to test and they were afraid of a high positivity rate of passengers when they do test. So it was a no win situation for them. They probably felt it was just better to inconvenience passengers. They were not concerned there was no good public transport on weekends. They offered a shuttle to horseshoe Beach for $40 PP when its $9pp on the bus.
  7. I was going to be on this cruise before I tested positive for COVID. Celebrity knew about this months ago. They should have let people book another cruise at the same price as this one or give a 100% cash refund if you did not like the new itinerary. Or they could have just skipped Bermuda & gone someplace else. They devalued the cruise but gave no extra OBC or compensation. Tendering will greatly increase COVID probability. Plus with limited weekend public transport, there is limited opportunities to do something. The ship arrives 10am Saturday & transport ends late pm- not a lot of time. With no masking, tenders, a crowded ship I fear there will be a covid outbreak
  8. You can use a COR but some countries like Bermuda would not accept it. I was told we could board the ship but couldn't disembark in Bermuda. So no cruise for us as we wanted to go back to Bermuda again.
  9. I was horrified to read about the lack of social distancing, no masks & sitting with others for meals. This is a prime way covid will be transmitted thoughtout the ship! We were supposed to leave this week on the Summit but got covid so cant go. I wear an N95 mask always indoors & still got it. Covid is no joke & it's the sickest I have been in over 40 years. I did get paxlovid & that has helped. But come on folks- masking & social distancing is a no brainer! Please keep us posted on the number of covid cases. Stay safe.
  10. I did not get it on a cruise. We were supposed to sail next week. Yes I am double boosted & wear my N95 mask anywhere indoors. I have no major health issues. I was walking 3.5 miles daily before covid. My BIL an MD & his wife also an MD got it. We haven't seen them in 2 years. A lot more people are catching this very contagious strain. I was super careful for 2 years & got it.
  11. No it's not like a cold. Did you read my post? I said I have not been this sick for over 30 years! It's like a very very bad flu. Plus 20% of covid patients will get long covid. Is that worth gambling your life with to have momentary fun? BTW double boosted & no serious health problems. When & if covid case counts decrease, we would consider a cruise but not in the near future.
  12. Well I have had covid for 10 days now & have not been this sick in at least 30 years. I took paxlovid also. I used to walk 3.5 Miles per day. Going up one flight of stairs now I am winded. I am double boosted. I wear an N95 mask anytime indoors. I lost over 5lbs due to covid. I still have a cough, sneezing , short of breath & can't sleep well at night. Plus covid survivors have a 20% chance of getting long covid. So this is not just a walk in the park. Seriously think about not going on a cruise until this super contagious variant decreases. It's not worth getting covid just to take a vacation.
  13. So glad things worked out well for you & celebrity did right by you. Hope you both feel better. Thanks for taking the time to post. You really helped me a lot in deciding to cancel our June cruise. But we caught covid now anyway & I would not wish it on anyone.
  14. It's just a good time to cancel right now & get the FCC. I have COVID now, fully boosted & always wear N95 masks so where did I get it? I took paxlovid. 11 days after getting it, i still am tired, have slight cough & feel run down. Now is the time to stay vigilant. If we had not gotten covid, we were going to cancel our cruise due to the increased cases. I don't feel cruising is safe right now. The cruise lines want our money but are not concerned with our safety. Crowded unmasked tenders is a sure way to make covid a superspreader event on board. The cruise ships should be flashing red & be shut down now. But there is no will power to do this. The CDC reported yesterday that 20% of covid patients will gey long haul covid. That is scary high & a good reason not to cruise right now.
  15. It takes 15 minutes to take a covid test. Everyone should have to take one in their cabin & show upon disembarking. The CDC should mandate this bur I don't think they will. Now people are returning home & spreading covid. We will not book another cruise until covid is under control more. & if that's never, ok with us now.
  16. Thanks for updating us. Hope you feel better soon. Get paxlovid if you can. We just tested positive 10 days before our cruise next week so were able to get a 100% refund although we are still waiting on that. I do believe the CDC should mandate that all cruise passengers take a covid test before leaving the ship. BTW, I was double boosted & wore an N95 mask anytime inside & have no idea how I got it.
  17. Thanks everyone. We did do a PCR test to document but Bermuda does not accept a COR so really doesn't matter. We will see what the tests show next week.
  18. Actually we just recounted the days. I'm 15 days out & hubby 14 so just under the wire. We have been trying to concentrate on getting well before the cruise with lots of rest so weren't really counting the days.
  19. Bermuda does not accept a certificate of recovery. I was positive 14 days from sail date, my husband 13 days. So cutting it very close. We don't want to lie. Timing could not have been worse to get it. Have no idea where I got it as I always wear an N95 inside. Maybe at the dentist? Don't know. And covid is more than just a cold - it's like the flu. Fortunately we were able to get pavalox so starting to feel better already. How would they know what date you tested positive anyway?
  20. That I already know. Not sure how we will test so waiting till next week. But I understand you can test positive long after COVID is over.
  21. So what would preclude you from being allowed on board? Concerned because we tested positive.
  22. Thanks. So if you answer any question yes, does that exclude you from the cruise?
  23. What questions are asked on the health questionnaire? Just wanting to see if we would pass.
  24. I can't find anything on the Bermuda site to see if they accept a certificate of recovery. Does anyone know? Someone said they do not. I will, of course, call Bermuda on Monday. I know Celebrity accepts it as I checked. I'm hoping I don't test positive. I understand from a lab tech friend that you can test positive for over a month once you have it. We leave in less than two weeks!
