looking for estimated times refunds are taking. we canceled something two weeks ago today, but still nothing. we sail on sunday, so we'd really like to have our money back before then. thanks!

We were notified today for a cruise on Sunday, that one of our excursions was cancelled by the provider.  RC said refund could take up to 2 weeks.

The new check in time is really nice that the crowds are now controlled, and you don't need to wait an hour or two to be processed.  So......everyone, just follow the times, and that will be great.

In this me me me, I'm more important, I'm ultra-mostest-highest level cruiser, so I should get head-of-the-line privileges society?

Will they still be around Memorial Day Weekend ?

Usually gone by end of May.  Usually.  Not always.  Normal Lovebug seasons are May and September, but they don't check the calendar.

One closet, ask your stateroom attendant for as many hangers as you'd like and he/she will bring you more (I always do).

How big? Big enough to comfortably hold a week's worth of clothes but it's obviously not exactly huge. There are shelves and drawers to supplement everything you aren't hanging up.

    Thanks!  Appreciate the info.

And use my clothes steamer to remove the bugs. Works effectively, no harm to paint.

Please share your method for using the steamer!

  6. Courtesy reservation ..... is RC picking the speciality restaurant for us?  Haven't cruised with RC before, and not sure how their speciality dining works.  Appears to be different from other cruise lines.

    • A courtesy reservation will be made for Day 1 or 2 of your cruise based on your preferred dining time. You will receive your courtesy reservation confirmation in your stateroom on the first day of your cruise.
    • All additional reservations or changes to your courtesy reservation must be made once onboard at any specialty restaurant.

Yes. If you have a drink package works on Coco Cay... else will have to purchase drinks at the swim-up bar.

Thanks!  Don’t drink enough for a drink package. Maybe 2 a day. Maybe.

My wife and I are taking a cruise out of New Orleans in a couple of weeks, how long after leaving port does the casino open? I know it takes several hours to go down the Mississippi river before reaching the Gulf so just curious.

Harrah's Casino is about a 10 minute walk from the port if you need a gambling fix that bad.

    People actually take these?

I guess it just seems weird to me (outside of things like maybe a medical device like a CPAP) that you'd need this. We've never taken more than what I call a "4-spot" (it's a plug in USB charger with 4 ports) because that's really all we need since our electronics (except for my Kindle E-reader) get put away while we're cruising because we don't mind being totally disconnected from everything and everyone in the real world for a week.

My phone is disconnected from service, but I keep it charged for camera use all day.

  10. At this point in our life, on the cruise is about the only time we drink alcohol. Been there, done that. We're over it.  Never tried Cheers, but we are pretty sure it wouldn't work for us. DW drinks only Miller Lite, maybe 1 margarita, and only black coffee.  7 day cruise would run us $730 for the week.  I can't drink enough cocktails/speciality drinks to make up for her.  As for the souvenir cups, mere dust collectors. No thanks.

I don't mean to hijack your post OP but I, like you, haven't sailed since 2011 and have just one question. I understand that carnival now has you pick an arrival time and understand why they do so. The question I have is simple. Once I can select that time do I have to follow it. I'm not platinum or have a suite or have done the fttf. If an early time isn't available what happens if we show up before then? I am by nature an early type of person. I'd rather be early and wait than be 5 minutes late. Will we be able to go thru the process if we are there before the time and possibly board before that time?

Generally, you will be made to wait until your designated time.  Imagine, if you will, everyone not following their selected time and all showing up at 11am.  That scenario is exactly why Carnival went to the present system.

Select 1pm, and probably walk right onto the ship. Maybe.  maybe not.
