  1. We had an aft balcony, near center ship, on the Sunshine in September 2015. Because of the shape of the ship, we had very little shade, and almost no breeze. Great view of where we had been. Also, we chose the wrong deck, as we were directly under the dining area, which changed to a live Latin band/dance area about 9pm until past 2am.

  2. It's going to be hot and humid in August. Depending on your August sail dates, the Saints will be playing 2 preseason games at home on 17th and 30th of august. Hot and humid. French Quarter will be busy, and traffic will be a concern. Did I mention it will be hot and humid? 90+ degrees and humidity to match.

  3. So I have been on a disney cruise when I was a kid about 12 years ago but this will be my first cruise as an adult! We have decided to go on a cruise on the Elation for our Honeymoon on 5/14! With this being my first time cruising with all the responsibility actually on me I was hoping for any tips, tricks, advise, ect.?

You're on your honeymoon!!! You should only come out of your cabin for meals. And there is room service available.

  4. I don't understand why you can't use separate credit cards for CHEERS when you can use separate cards to pay for the cruise. I will be on the Paradise in July & am rooming with my adult daughter. We planned to purchase CHEERS, but I just assumed we could pay separately. She keeps saying she's going to get it for both of us because I'm treating her to the cruise, but I don't want her to do that.

At least it's only a 4 day cruise, so one of us will have to pay & get the $$ from the other. Just seems strange that two people rooming together can't pay separately. I get that it's the whole everyone has to purchase, but why not allow 2 cards to be used as long as you're ordering it at the same time? I know if it weren't my daughter or other close family, I would not be comfortable paying on my card for someone else's CHEERS.

You're asking the wrong "experts". You should be asking Carnival directly.

  5. But they release it 15 months in advance, isn't it impossible to determine how many plats/diamonds are going to be on a particular sailing that far ahead?

I would assume it would be impossible to know accurately, but I guess they can go by past history of plats/dias on each specific cruise. Again, just a guess, I'm certainly no expert. I make small attempts at using common sense. Carnival PVP could give you a more accurate response than anyone of the "experts" on this website.

  6. Last I heard, carnival had to first determine how many platinums/diamonds are on that particular cruise. There are only so many cabins they can get ready early, and plats/dias get first priority, then wedding parties, THEN comes an available FTTF slots.

  7. Have you googled the locations website? Maybe it posts hours of operations.

I can’t imagine a chain that size closing down. Cozumel has so many resorts. It’s not just a cruise stop.

They had one in Cancun years ago that is now closed. We got lucky and had a hotel stumbling, I mean walking distance away.

  8. ..... I also make a reduced size tag to put on my camera strap. This is done in hopes that if I were to forget to grab my bag or camera, someone would be kind enough to turn it in.

Print your luggage tags, then take a photo of the tags. Make sure it's the first photo in your camera. We also put a copy of the tags INSIDE the luggage, just in case the tags come off.

  9. I agree! Nothing says "take advantage of me I'm a tourist" like the S&S card on a lanyard walking around. My kids love their lanyards though. Makes them feel like a VIP.

Lanyard on the ship, in my pocket ashore. There, you feel better now? Many of us are required to have our work ID visible at all times while on the job. Lanyards make it easy to access secure areas, so wearing it on the ship is second nature.
