  1. The ship docks at the pier. You could request a wheelchair assist up and down the ramp on the dock. And that is where the RCCL shore ex picks up. Sounds like you have booked a private tour and it is about 1/4 mile walk from the berth we used yesterday to the tramway. Nothing provided by the cruise line will take you to your private tour. We did see a few pedicabs, but I wouldn’t count on that. Consider the logistics of what you are booking if you have a mobility challenged member of your party. We did when we used to travel with our elderly parents. And we are getting to the point where we are falling into that category.
  2. Yes. Most people participate in the auto grats.
  3. Absolutely not. We always give our room steward, for example, $10 per day per person in room. That’s above the few pennies a day they get from the auto grats.
  4. This is 100% wrong. Most participate. And it benefits many of the behind the scenes crew work work tirelessly to make your cruise wonderful.
  5. 1 device at a time. You need to triple check that you log off, otherwise your minutes will tick away and be gone.
  6. No custom stops. You have to go to one of the NCL hotels or airport and arrange your own transportation to your hotel. We have done this on Barcelona several times.
  7. Cafe Promenade has fruit cups throughout the day. You can also grab a plate of cut fruit at Windjammer most of the day and take it with you.
  8. The Quantum of the Seas had one of the first fully robotic bars, with two robot bartenders who work without tips.
  9. Thank you. You have made a significant contribution to the Cruise Critic community.
  10. You can see the main entertainment on Post #3 and the daily entertainment on the Daily Compass postings.
  11. Can sail with a birth certificate. But since your grand kid is not yours, you need to have the paperwork showing that you are allowed to take him out of the country n
  12. There were photographers at other ports. I didn’t see any today in Juneau, but I assume that they are around.
  13. Dawes Glacier, not so much. The Bird has been blessed with glorious weather on this cruise. But they has resulted in a lot of caving at the glacier, filling the water with ice. The Captain maneuvered as close as he could, to provide passengers with a glimpse of the glacier. The Dawes Glacier way off in the distance. Zoomed in, you can see a tiny piece of the great glacier. The Glacier Explorer take you where the Quantum won’t. Right up close and personal with the glacier. Hard to see, but the waters closer to the glacier is filled with ice. Not good for Azipods or thrusters (unless you want to walk home from Juneau).
