  1. We were on that same cruise on Divina and do agree that the food was just so-so to "meh."  However, we ate in Butcher's Cut for my birthday 9/23 and my filet was awesome.  In fact the whole meal was really really good.  DH had the lamb chops and said they were excellent.  Several decks of cabins were closed off between the mid-ship and back elevators, which made it very difficult for my mobility-challenged hubby, but we still enjoyed the cruise overall.

  2. Based a lot on the strength of your review, we quickly booked the Meraviglia for 1/23/22 before the end of the free balcony promotion today.  We are on the Divina next month, 9/19/21, so I am anxious to compare both ships.  We had 2 fully-paid MSC cruises cancel during 2020, so both of these were booked without any additional $$$ spent.  I can't wait to begin cruising again, mask or not!!

  3. Ooops, forgot to add the date for our Divina cruise.  It is 9/19/21, a birthday cruise for me, just around the corner.

On another note, I am so happy for you, Sid, with your new home purchase.  I hope you enjoy it to the fullest!

  4. DH and I are going on a 7-night W.Caribbean on MSC Divina.  Took advantage of their balcony for the price of an interior promotion.  We had 2 fully-paid cruises on MSC cancelled during 2020, so this is one of the make-up cruises.  Then we go 1/23/22 on the Meraviglia, also free balcony upgrade, for our last make-up cruise.  Both fully paid for, so no out-of-pocket costs for us at this time.  Both are out of Port Canavaral, so easy 2-hour drive from the house.  We can't wait!!

  5. We have been booked on the 9/19/21 Divina out of Port Canavaral for several months.  That's my birthday week.  We have fingers and toes crossed that it will go.  I agree as to their meet & mingles.

We attended one on the Seaside 2 years ago and it was the best ever.  Could speak directly with the captain and he was so personable!!

  6. We also have a cruise on Divina out of Port Canavaral for September this year.  I'm wondering if it will be a "Go" or will it be cancelled.  It would be our first time on Divina.  We've been on Magnifica and Seaside.  Loved Seaside!!

  7. I have another Revere Ware story.  I bought a set in 1956 (yes, you read it right).  Used it for 35 years or so.  The very smallest pan with lid was either a 1 qt. or 1-1/2 qt.  I made popcorn with it on an electric range.  I'd get the oil hot, pour in LOTS of popcorn kernels and let it rip.  I could fill up 2-3 large bowls of popcorn with that little bitty pan by popping until the lid started coming up in the air, pouring it out a little at a time, and repeat.  It was amazing!!!  I lost the pan over several moves and was never able to make a decent pot of popcorn after that, trying many other brands of cookware.  Now it's microwave popcorn for me and it's not near as good.  Oh well!!

PS: I've been reading everything, just not posting.

  8. Deedle:  Your's sounds really easy.  One question:  Is the condensed milk sweetened or plain??  Thanks.

BTW: Congrats on your War Eagles victory Saturday.  See how nice I am LOL!!  This from a LSU fan.

  9. Regarding the Key lime pie:  This is not exactly the recipe you might see, as I changed it up a little bit.

Most don't call for cream cheese. Instead you might see heavy cream, a lot more $$.  Important to soften cream cheese first, then add beaten eggs slowly, whisking as you go.  Most recipes call for 4 egg yolks only. Then you're left with the whites.  I don't personally like them, but DH makes an omelet with them.  I tried using 3 whole eggs, but I take out the membranes and beat the snot out of them before adding. LOL.  Then add the milk and lemon/lime juice.  That's all folks!!

  10. Forgive me; I was abbreviating.  KL stands for Key lime and I, too, use Nellie and Joe's.  I have yet to see a store brand of Key lime juice.  I definitely do not use Rose's lime juice or any of those plastic bottles that are green!!  Where we live here in Florida we have Meyer Lemon trees and we have one in our backyard.  The last couple pies I made I combined the lemon juice with the lime, mainly because it's so cheap and it's on our tree out back.  You have to be careful though because the Meyer lemons are not near as sour as regular lemons.  Hope that answers your questions.

    Stay well everyone!!

  11. I guess I need to start selling my key lime pie!  I just baked one made with 4 oz. cream cheese, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (Like Eagle Brand, but I use store brand), 3 eggs, and 1/2 cup of KL juice or fresh lemon juice or a combination of the two.  Bake 25 min @ 350 in graham cracker crust.  Just took it out of the oven and it looks exactly like the picture above.  I add whipped cream from the can (NOT Cool Whip). Whole thing costs me around $4.00 for the whole pie.  Enjoy what's left of your vacation, Sid.
