Thank you. I have done that and hopefully will get an answer soon.

We are 2 seniors with luggage who want the faster SW Train to Southampton, and could someone please
describe the way we would get from Jubilee Line arrival at Waterloo Tube Station up to the Rail Station for
departure on SW train to Southampton from Platform 4? Bob++ posted a video of this information regarding
Victoria Station, and it was very helpful. Hopefully we can get the same for Waterloo Station? Thank you.

I loved the video showing how to get from Victoria tube station up to the rail station.
Now if I could just get someone to do this for me at Waterloo. I have posted threads
to that effect on the Forums for British Isles and also for MSC Cruises. Can Bob++
possibly help with this? We will have luggage, so easiest way from Waterloo Jubilee Line
arriving at Waterloo Tube Station up to the Rail Station. We will be departing on a
Southwestern Train to Southampton from Track 4, I believe. Thank you.

We are departing on MSC Magnifica from Southampton at 20:00 on a Monday evening. What time do you
think we will be able to board the ship? Thank you.

We are departing at 20:00 on a 10 night cruise on Magniifica from Southampton. What time do you think we
will be able to board? It is on a Monday. Thank you.

We are seriously considering the Overground from West Brompton to Clapham Junction and switching to the train from Waterloo to Southampton. Do we use our Oyster cards on the Overground, or do we buy a train ticket? If so, which railway do we use? I need a little more detailed information on this route. There are several stations at CJ. Do we change at the CJ Rail Station? Is the train from Waterloo to Southampton a Southern train?? Please forgive my ignorance, but a little more information would really help. Please and thank you!!

Wow, what a lot of options!! Yes. I had considered Nat. Express Coach from Vic. to Southampton, but we just really like train travel, and
it sort of takes traffic & accidents out of the equation. The overground from W.Brompton to Clapham Junction also sounds pretty good. I've got some time so will ponder all these options. Thanks so much for all the replies.

Thank you for all the replies. The Bus 507 sounds great. But yes, my real question is easiest way from Ibis Earls Court to Waterloo Station for train to Southampton on a Monday morning after peak hours. I believe the Ibis is really closer to the West Brompton tube station, but I think it's only stairs there. So if we walk to Earls Court Station, I believe there are lifts to District Line, and then lifts also at Westminster from District to Jubilee lines??? That would be wonderful.

Can anyone tell me if there is a direct tube line from Victoria to Waterloo Stations that would have no stairs, or that would have escalators or lifts involved? We are looking for easiest way as we are seniors with medium sized cases (1 each) and wanting to get to Southampton. We are staying in Earls Court area and realize District Line goes to Victoria. We could take train from there to Southampton, but would prefer leaving from Waterloo on faster train. This would be on a Monday morning, and ship does not leave Southampton until 20:00, so we have lots of time. If we transfer between stations, which routes should we take that would insure we have lifts? We could also taxi from Victoria to Waterloo, but what would be the cost?

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by getting tokens from the "coin pusher." Please clarify that for me.

We're doing the transatlantic on the Epic in April, so I am anxiously awaiting the rest of your review. Thanks for a first-timer's viewpoint.

We are going on April 2018 TA from Port Canavaral to Barcelona and wondering how often they have Karaoke on this cruise. It is a 15=nighter. This question is for those who have done the TA on Epic before. We've done the Jade twice and they had Karaoke almost every night. Our group are huge fans of Karaoke, so we would love to have this info. Thanks.

We will be a group of 4 to 8 seniors wishing to hire a private taxi tour from Port of Cadiz to Jerez and back on a Wednesday.
Highlights would be Royal Andulusian horses (no show on Wednesdays), some sherry tasting & tapas for lunch in old center of Jerez, then taxi back to ship in Cadiz. We will be in port for 10 hours, so plenty of time. I would like some suggestions to accomplishing this, if possible. Thank you.

Sorry, I do not know what they are stuffed with, only that they are too heavy for us. Good luck with the blankets.
-
As to the Q about duvets: We do not like the duvets as we feel they are too heavy. We simply ask our room steward to take them off and supply us with thin blankets. They usually have to give you two to cover the two beds pushed together to make the queen. They are happy to do so. Problem solved!!

My advice is to form up a group from your roll call and do private tours, especially in Rome. You CAN do it on your own, as we have done, but for a first time a group of 6 or 8 would be ideal in a van that picks you up at the port, takes you around Rome in air conditioned comfort, and drives you back to the port, all for about $100 per person, much less than the ship's tour.
Regarding Naples, we did the same thing and had a wonderful driver take us to Pompeii and along the Amalfi Coast. It was one of the loveliest days of my long live and one we remember every time we see it on Rick Steves' show. It was about the same price as Rome. Or you could also take the speedy hydrofoil ferry over to the Isle of Capri and do a self-tour. That is still on my bucket list for our next time in Naples. There is a lot of info out there. Just do searches for private tours.
-
Oh, never mind, my mistake. We would not be taking a cruise line bus, but a shared or private shuttle instead. There would be 4 of us.
Thank you for advice.
-
Thank you Steerage Joe. Just the info I needed, and the pictures were really helpful. If you have a reservation for a particular shuttle bus, do you still have to register inside or do you just get in line to get on?

We live in Spring Hill, FL. and want to drive our car to Orlando and park in an off-airport lot for 15 nights while on an east-bound transatlantic out of Port Canavaral to Barcelona. We will be on a return flight into MCO late in the evening. My question is this: Will we be able to take the shuttle from parking lot to MCO and then board the shuttle to the port, even though we are not arriving to the airport by a flight? With all the security changes lately, I'm not sure this is possible. Has anyone done this.
We would consider a one-way car rental from MCO to the port, but they are running $100 and up at my latest check. What are our choices? We can't rent a car in Spring Hill and drive it to the port as the prices are exhorbitant unless you pick up the car at an airport, and we are 45 miles north of Tampa airport.

Thanks for the suggestion to take the Metro plus a bus. Do you know which bus leaves from the port metro station to the cruise line terminals? This really sounds like the best plan for us.
-
We have a half-day tour with a roll call group, but we want to stay in Athens until about 3:30 p.m. and take the Express Bus 80 back to the ship. Where
EXACTLY does the #80 stop near Syntagma Square for the return trip? Will we be able to get the tickets from the driver, or is there a place to buy the 4.50 E tickets near the stop?

4 Seniors used the Mesa seats on a 6 hour journey from Barcelona to Malaga, and it was absolutely fine. We really enjoyed being able to sit facing each other, even played cards. The ride was interesting and comfortable. You will love it. Only thing, if one of you has long legs, you might want to sit opposite someone with short legs. You can get up and move around, go to dining car for coffee or drinks. Take snacks with you and enjoy!!

We've not been to any of those three ports, but for our upcoming cruise on NCL Jade out of Venice in September, we are staying 2 nights in Padova pre-cruise, for the Scrovegni Chapel and the Basilica. Easy transport from Marco Polo to Padova and then to Venice. Really looking forward to it. Wherever you decide, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

It's a line dance group, and I am an instructor. We hope to have about 60 or 70 dancers in the group, but you will not notice. We will be have private function dancing in one of the lounges daily, probably before dinner each day.
So no worries!!

The video was most helpful. It looks like there are escalators all the way up, and when you get to the mail rail station,
Platform 4 & 5 are practically straight across from where you come in. Looks like a plan!! Thank you.
