  1. I guess I am a semi-lurker.  Went all the way back to first page and I check the thread every day unless I'm away on a cruise.

Wait-- what's that???  I do love all of "the tribe" and laugh and cry along with the rest of your fans.  We cancelled our Xmas cruise on the NCL dawn out of Tampa and rebooked for Dec. next year, 2021, but an 11 day to the "ABC" islands, so somewhere we've never been.  We do have a 7-day on MSC Seaside Jan 24th out of Port Canavaral, but don't know if it will sail.  Keep the faith, tribe members, and we may just get through this sh^^storm.

  2. cml4958, hulu code would be great.  I am also from St. Louis.  DH and I both, born and bred until we were in our 30's, when we moved south.  I went to Ritenour in Overland/St.Ann area, graduated in '56, an eon ago!!

  3. Thanks Greenpea!!  I thought I had checked and it was only available to rent or buy, but now I see it.  That's so great; another goodie to watch for a long time!!  We are currently watching "Endeavour" and love it.  2 more seasons to go out of total of 8.

Also started with "The Night Manager."  It's only one season but has 13 episodes, and it is stellar.  Hugh Laurie from "House" directs and plays the villan's role.

  4. Sid, that's a great message.  Regarding "Burn Notice" is it only on Hulu?  I already subscribe to Netflix, Stars, PBC, and Amazon Prime.  Is there any other way to get it?  Sounds like something I would love to watch.

  5. Etta, I haven't danced for 5 months, but I haven't forgotten how!!  The one place I teach is locked down until January, and the other place (retirement community where I live) is locked down and we don't know when it will open.  Makes you wonder where your HOA fee is going!!  Not even the library is open.  I've gained so much covid weight from inactivity that I will waddle out on the floor when classes finally resume.  Thanks for remembering!!

  6. Happy birthday Sid.  Mine was the 23rd, only I'm 82 years young.  I'm mourning the loss of my beloved LSU Tigers to MS. State Bulldogs.  I'll have to have some drinks tonight to help me fall asleep.  Just another thing to love about 2020!

  7. If you love pumpkin pie, the absolutely best recipe is on the Libby's pumpkin can.  I follow it EXACTLY but instead of granulated white sugar, I use half that and the other half brown sugar.  Gives it a richer taste.  It is very important that you use evaporated milk, like Carnation or Pet (I use store brand) but not the sweetened variety.  Whole milk will not work.  Enjoy!!  Yum!!

  8. DH and I both are born and raised in St. Louis (and suburbs).  I'm glad to see some of its lovely old neighborhoods are coming back.  Weather is the pits.  We've lived in Mississippi, Louisiana, and now Florida and St. Louis is hotter in the summer and MUCH colder in the winter.  Just some info for those who might be interested (doubtful)!!

  9. Speaking of binge watching-- during this 6-month hiatus from everything I love doing, I have watched ALL of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul (great), Last Tango in Halifax (even better), Homeland, Madam Secretary, Blacklist, started on Boston Legal but just had enough, and now I'm finishing Weeds.  Most of this I never watched when it aired years ago, so I've enjoyed pretty much all of them.

  10. Sid, I am a compulsive lurker on Zillow and Realtor.Com.  Lots and lots in Buckhead and Dunwoody areas under $175K and look really really nice.  Also one at 600 N.Peachtree that is gorgeous.  Some 1 bed-1 bath and some 2-2.  Looks like there is plenty to choose from.  Lots have lobbies with elevators, looks like concierge, etc.  I wish you every good luck in your search to find stability in your life.

  11. Well that September cruise (casino deal) got cancelled on the Paradise, as expected.  I now am booked on the NCL Jade out of Tampa for Xmas,  I hope it sails, but it's looking doubtful.  Then I've got one the end of January '21 on MSC's Seaside for 7 nights  out of Port Canavaral.  Getting a little worried about these final payments due in August.

  12. Let me add our September sailing to the mix.  I think I've got everyone beat, age-wise.  I am 81 and DH is 78, and we booked a casino rate on the Paradise out of Tampa for my birthday in late September.  Only 5 nights and I prefer much longer cruises, but the price was right and it's a good starting place for a return to our favorite passtime.  We will wear masks and enjoy just being onboard a nice ship and looking at the water.  Stops are Grand Cayman and Cozumel.  If they are open, it's a winner; and if not, then we'll just enjoy the ship.  Call us crazy or not, if the ship sails, we're on it!!

  13. Hey Greenpea, we got our masks yesterday also, FINALLY!!  $19.95 on Amazon for 50.  Ordered them back around April lst.

I know they came from China.  Received shipping notice couple of days after ordering, but almost 2 months to arrive.  But they are very nice.

  14. DCI Banks is quite good.  We watched all seasons last year.  I'm on a British "kick" right now and seem to

like everything of that genre.  Right now I'm watching Better Call Saul and love it.  I guess I got the cart before

the horse because I watched all of Breaking Bad first and then Saul.  I was a court stenographer in my other

life, so anything legal or dealing with the court system I really can appreciate.

  15. I also just booked Paradise for 5 nights on 9/21 with a Casino rate.  Pretty good deal.  It's been several years since we've cruised Carnival.  Can you take any wine aboard like on RCCL or NCL?  What about 1 6-pack of soda?  Forgive stupid questions.  I looked for answers but search option is not working for me.

  16. We have started watching "The Cruise" also and really enjoying it.  Also just on Season 1, but it's a nice break from binging on Outlander and Ozark to pass the time.  Doing a little hard-core cleaning also, but that's not near as much fun.  Thanks Tribe for the suggestion.  Almost time to drink!!

  17. Thanks Greenpea.  I ordered the stag kit.  I also really loved the Tree of Life kit, but I'll see how I do on the stag first.

The colors are gorgeous.  Can't wait to get it and start painting.  It's been a long time.

Time to open my bottle of wine to go with bourbon glazed salmon we're having for dinner.

  18. For Greenpea:  If you don't mind my asking, where did you find/buy the paint by number kit of the stag?  It is awesome!!

I have coloring books for adults, but not paint by number.  I did one about 50 years ago of "Blue Boy" that turned out pretty good, at least frame-worthy, but it's long gone.  Thanks
