  1. You can do YTD and request the same table/section each night. You may have to wait a little longer for a table to come open, but that is a possibility.
  2. The first time I sailed on Sunshine, I bemoaned the larger size vs. Fantasy and wanted to go back to the Fantasy. Now that I've gotten used to Sunshine and Conquest class ships, I'm more open-minded to bigger ships and couldn't imagine going back to a Fantasy-class ship at this point.
  3. You can only bring on 1 bottle of wine per adult, but that's separate than the soda/water allotment - so bringing on canned water would not affect how much wine you can bring on.
  4. My experience as well on Sunshine last year - great cruises on her! Granted we typically don't get to the pier until well after open boarding so we don't usually use the priority boarding perk.
  5. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1134/~/laundry-service You can bring on tide pods, sure. I would have them in my carry-on, just so they don't burst in the checked bags (they don't treat checked bags too kindly). But there are no restrictions about them being in your checked bag.
  6. It doesn't matter if it's $3, if it's a legitimate request they should approve it or abolish the policy.
  7. Liquid Death is one popular (expensive!) brand of canned water. I have driven past the JAXPORT area on I-295, but never been to the port itself so I can't say if there are other options for parking, or nearby stores.
  8. Interesting question - I just assumed the ship would be crewed by Carnival crew...is that not the case?
  9. It actually is 3.86 miles to where the ships dock, judging by Google map's measure distance tool, so darn close to 4 miles. Incredible. I've never been.
  10. "Too much waste" - The company that prints thousands of photos and $0.00 receipts every cruise that are simply thrown away
  11. Well that's normal, and perhaps more so for a cruise than any other vacation because you can't just hop down to the nearest Walgreens when you're in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. Just keep in mind that you're rarely more than ~24 hours from land on most itineraries, so you don't need to pack literally everything. There are little stores that carry pretty much everything you need within walking distance of pretty much all ports of call.
  12. Yeah early or during a port day are good bets.
  13. Laugh while you can, folks. One day your favorite menu item or perk will be gone (or maybe it already is and you're down to your 5th or 6th favorite, just hoping Carnival doesn't cut any more) and everyone will mock you for mentioning it.
  14. Did you get the credit card directly from Carnival? 🤣

  16. I guess I wasn't aware that this was an unscheduled drydock. Cruises after drydocks are always in danger of being cancelled. Usually the drydocks go fine and the ship sails as scheduled, but there may still be some work going on around the ship during the first few cruises afterward. If you're worried I would make sure you book refundable airfare, hotel, etc., so that if the cruise is cancelled you can get your money back from them (Carnival will take care of refunding your cruise if they have to cancel).
  17. It's all timing...check throughout the day as sometimes people will hold the room in their "cart" for some time and it will get released if they don't actually book the room.
  18. Even if they keep the mushrooms behind the counter like the bacon, I'm cool with that. I don't mind asking for my spoonful of 'shrooms.
  19. Me too, I loved them. Heald said it's because people just didn't eat enough of them and they were throwing away too many. I miss them
  20. Yeah they went from the delicious, tender, fresh cut fries to Ore-Ida. It's really sad. Especially since they stopped serving mushrooms too.
  21. If you booked single, then yes that sounds accurate. That is a cancel and rebook, and if your rate is no longer available you will pay the now current rates. In the future you could book the second person in your cabin as a TBA. Just leave the name as TBA. You can go in and change the name later at no charge.
  22. Not on Carnival Ecstasy, room E6. First hand experience.
  23. Too much heavy steel etc around a ship for AirTags to work particularly well. That and most people have their phones in airplane mode so the location isn't updating.
  24. I like the beef tenderloin, the brisket, the lasagna, baked alaska, several other dishes. If I had to name just one I guess it would be the baked alaska. But honestly my wife and I eat in the MDR every night of every cruise normally, we prefer that experience. We will frequently go up to the buffet afterwards to snack but the MDR is where we eat supper.
