  1. Yes the breakfast hangers are gone, you have to call in your order each morning. the continental breakfast delivery is still free, at least as of today.
  2. I think that is the fastest you and I have ever come to an agreement.
  3. There are crew everywhere on the ship, if Carnival cared about these issues they would have been taken care of. The crew ignores it as is, so what good will it do for a guest to bring it to their attention?
  4. If need be you can check in on the first cruise, since you get free access to carnival.com using the shipboard wifi or internet cafe.
  5. I would never pay a booking fee to a TA. If the commission they receive from the cruise line isn't sufficient then they need to be in a different line of work. In fact my TA has always been able to give me the exact same price as what I could get booking direct from Carnival or any other cruise line. That is why I use them, it's the same person on the other end of the line whether I'm booking a Carnival cruise, a week at Disney World, or an all inclusive.
  6. It's tough because excessive profanity is often a sign that a situation is escalating. And we know Carnival has issues with fighting onboard. But at the same time they don't want to be in the position of being the "fun police" so to speak, nor should they.
  7. Yes, and sometimes they have silicone rubber straws available for sale as well. But as far as a straw to give you with your drink, it's just the candy straws.
  8. correct, only candy straws.
  9. Virgin is definitely a line that my wife and I want to cruise on soon. It may well replace Carnival for us depending on the comps we can get from their casino department, now that the Charleston port (and easy/cheap drive-to cruises) will soon be gone for us.
  10. Carnival considers a cabin temperature of 73 to be normal and acceptable. Usually I feel like my cabin is cooler than that but not always. I always bring a fan on every cruise, or if I am unable to carry a fan I ask for one as soon as I meet my cabin steward.
  11. I agree, and I don't know anything about Princess or HAL's loyalty programs but CCL's isn't really anything to get excited over by and large, so probably not enough to sway most people anyway.
  12. Yes you can draw money out of your credit card on the slots using your S&S card. No there is no fee for doing this. Most/all the slot machines also have bill acceptors so if you prefer, you can feed the machines cash. It's up to you.
  13. I'll be one of the dissenting voices and say keep your money and stick with the cabins you handpicked.
  14. This isn't a service dog forum so you shouldn't be surprised that you're not getting a valid answer to those very specialized questions that have nothing to do with cruising.
  15. 1. yes 2. it doesn't. only individually served alcoholic drinks count against your 15
  16. Yes, they pay the gratuity on your behalf.
  17. Generally it's just as simple as saying you answered the most correct. Nobody actually checks behind the winners.
  18. The importance of the question of course being, if you're not actually switching rooms but just getting keys then muster won't be affected. But if they are actually going to switch rooms then muster will presumably be affected. Either way I don't think the order of operations matters much. I would do muster first just because it takes very little time, but it's a toss-up.
  19. I don't think the minors can check in before the adult in the second stateroom. Either way I would wait for everyone to go through the process together but if it's not necessary then it's up to you.
  20. It's not a ping pong ball, it's more like a whiffle ball.
  21. Are you actually switching rooms at guest services, or just getting room keys so you can share Cheers?
  22. Plenty good for a video call, and remarkable for a moving ship in the middle of the ocean, likely hundreds of miles from civilization.
  23. Interesting the folks who love to brag how much they tip even when nobody asked or cares.
  24. They do close down one side for cleaning during off hours and will only have one station open. It would be unusual to have all drink stations closed down at any time during the cruise though.
