  1. Only when in Grand Turk as far as I can recall.
  2. The fact that a drydock is scheduled doesn't necessarily mean the ship will still be around then. As I recall the Sensation was drydocked just before she was beached in Turkey, granted COVID had a lot to do with the scrapping of Sensation and most of her sisters I'm sure.
  3. Much like Carnival's website, all the information you need is on Ticketmaster's website or the venue's website. But people don't read it. We get threads on here every day asking questions that are answered on Carnival's website. I can only imagine how many people clog up the entrance lines or phone lines at concert venues around the globe because they didn't want to read the paperless ticketing information until they were standing in line.
  4. My in-laws are the same way - they eat pretty much all their meals at the buffet.
  5. That's interesting, must have changed after the most recent drydock I guess. The forward dining room has been YTD on every Fantasy class ship I've been on or seen until your post. I wonder why the change.
  6. The more check-boxes they add to the booking process, the more people will simply not book a cruise. That's why they recently changed the booking engine to automatically select guarantee staterooms. Fewer clicks, easier checkout process, fewer "abandoned carts". I know every time I do a mock booking I get a call from my PVP later that day or the next asking if I need help. While I think it would be great to allow folks to roll in Cheers etc to their cruise payments, I see why they don't.
  7. It's the same technology either way, whether you use the ticketmaster app or the google/apple wallet app.
  8. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3490/~/locations-where-you-can-smoke Cigar smoking only in smoking areas on open decks. Carnival does not have any cigar lounges fleetwide.
  9. Wallet apps have existed on smartphones for over a decade now, it's mature technology and is well-tested.
  10. At the risk of dragging this thread off topic. This is like when you get in line behind someone at McDonald's and they have to look at the menu to decide what they want to order. The menu hasn't changed since 1985! Or they wait until the cashier tells them their total to pull out their billfold. "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that." - George Carlin
  11. Every day he posts a topic that says put questions under here. You post it as a reply comment to that topic.
  12. I guess if you linked your reservation with theirs, maybe that gave them permission to change your dining time. Doesn't make sense to me. The trick will be finding someone at Carnival who actually cares enough to change your dining back and make sure it doesn't happen again. Your best bet will be to post on JH's facebook page.
  13. There are no bar crawls, at least not organized by Carnival. Sometimes individuals will organize them on their own in roll call groups.
  14. While we're on the topic of hot tubs I'd like hot tubs that are actually hot and not just barely warm.
  15. of course, how could i forget. thanks. same story there - bonus sea day if missed. neither of these stops are in the caribbean - they're in the Atlantic and so missing them is certainly a possibility. I have missed HMC once.
  16. The only private island that Carnival has that requires tenders is Half Moon Cay that I can think of off the top of my head. If they miss that stop generally you get a bonus sea day.
  17. If you don't have a printer, save the boarding pass to your phone and they can print it for you at the pier.
  18. Forward dining room and you can ask the hostess to be seated with the same team every night. Usually they seem to try to automatically, but not always possible. https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1513/~/carnival-elation-(el)-ship-features-and-public-areas
  19. Are they in your room? Are they minor children staying in a room nearby? If not, then no. They'll survive.
  20. If you're going to go to the effort I would get white...otherwise why bother
  21. I agree @LatinaInTexas an upgraded POS system - tap to pay and no nonrecyclable paper receipts - would be welcome. Upgrade to RFID cards or wristbands like the Princess system. More power outlets/USB ports in the cabins. Free wifi (if Hampton Inn can figure it out, why can't Carnival?) I know we aren't discussing the reversal of cutbacks @staceyglow - but if they brought back breakfast at Ocean Plaza, that would certainly help your coffee problem...I really miss having that buffet at Ocean Plaza.
  22. How do you pre-order Cheers for just one cruiser in the cabin?
  23. Continental breakfast items like that are currently free during breakfast hours.
