  1. Anything the casino bar has - wine, beer, seltzers, sodas, hard liquor. Things like spiked coffee or milkshakes may not be available at the casino bar and thus not included.
  2. I know the pools aren't heated. I've never experienced a truly "hot" hot tub on Carnival, they've all been what I consider lukewarm. I don't know what temperature that would be though. If people are sitting in a hot tub for 30,45,60 minutes - it's not hot enough basically. That's my opinion 😉
  3. Assuming you are flying, I find flying in and traveling to the port of Miami is easier than Port Canaveral - so that would get my choice just for that reason. Flying in to Orlando and sitting on a bus for an hour is a drag, versus the ease of a ~15-25 minute taxi or Uber ride from MIA to Dodge Island.
  4. They change somewhat from cruise to cruise, but you can get an idea by looking here. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/fun-times/
  5. True, but I don't really consider them main dining areas anymore on Carnival ships. They're never open for lunch, for one thing. The buffet by comparison has food for every meal. Obviously it's up for interpretation though. Small nitpick.
  6. Sure but Carnival doesn't call it a main dining room. They call it whatever Costa called it, so they didn't have to pay for a new sign.
  7. There's usually Heinz 57 ketchup etc out in the Lido area, I don't know about BBQ sauce or other sauces however.
  8. Carnival would beg to differ I would reckon, the buffet is the only place that's open for every meal.
  9. Many of those who bemoan gamblers have let it slip elsewhere that they themselves get casino rates. So my advice is don't feed the trolls.
  10. I believe it, my last Carnival cruise was on the Magic and I don't think I saw a single carpet or rug or chair that wasn't stained. It was actually kind of incredible how horrible the ship's soft goods looked. My cruise before Magic was on a Disney ship that is basically the same age as Magic. The difference between the two, to put it mildly, is insane. The Carnival ship looked like it was ready for the breakers compared to the Disney ship.
  11. Minor children are never separated from their parents or guardians. That is mentioned in every muster drill I've attended since my first Carnival cruise.
  12. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3180/~/online-check-in-and-arrival-appointment
  13. Obviously but if there is a reason such as a member of the other party has handicap needs or something, then maybe they can be accommodated. But "they might be out of earshot for 5 minutes while we do our safety drill" isn't good enough to be accommodated is my guess.
  14. I was mostly talking about the steakhouse. I haven’t been to a Benihana etc lately so I don’t know what places like that charge these days.
  15. All the information about the Internet plans is on Carnival's website - you have to go to Carnival's website to buy a plan (assuming you're buying before the cruise to save a little money). What's the point in calling?
  16. They're really only looking for drugs weapons and alcohol at the pier, so you can bring on anything that isn't expressly prohibited on Carnival's website. Whether or not you can fly with it, assuming you're flying to your cruise, is another matter obviously!
  17. 🎻🎻🎻 All those things are not my problem. Carnival has to provide a competitive product in the marketplace despite headwinds, or they won't survive. They're profitable again - so they are providing a competitive product for many people now. And hopefully they will survive. Good for them! I feel like I may have outgrown their product, but that's me.
  18. That excuse worked for the first 6 months or so after the closure. But we've been back to cruising for over 2 years now. The excuses don't cut the mustard anymore for me.
  19. Carnival is down in service and quality bow to stern compared to 5 years ago, the Steakhouse is just one example.
  20. Yeah and one time a third strip of bacon stuck to the tongs at the buffet (thankfully, the bacon had awoken from the slumber of bacation) and I ate like a king that day.
  21. You got away with it, good for you. I wouldn't count on it working again.
  22. If you have Drinks On Us, you must be actively playing to get free drinks. It stands to reason if you're standing at the bar you're not actively playing. If you have Drinks on Us Everywhere, then you can order drinks anywhere (well, everywhere except room service) on the house.
  23. Right you have to compare like for like, and discount the Denny's like meal that you could have had in the MDR. I think Carnival's steakhouse still compares favorably.
  24. Prices will continue to rise until people stop paying them.
  25. JH posts the movies for the month, I am not sure if he's posted the movies for December yet or not - probably not - check his facebook page.
