  1. Carnival has no dress code today. Wear whatever you want. When you ask if something is acceptable, you'll get personal answers
  2. Show us the photos of the library on the Celebration, Mardi Gras, Pride, etc... Certainly a majority of Carnival's ships still have libraries. But only Carnival knows how long that will remain true.
  3. You'll have 2 elegant nights. Generally the first elegant night is the second night of the cruise, and the final cruise elegant night is closer to the end of the cruise. It's tough to say exactly what night it will be however. Don't worry about missing the prime rib, whatever you eat in the specialty restaurant will certainly be better than the elegant night meal in the dining room or buffet.
  4. As long as things like that are agreed upon in advance - sounds perfect.
  5. Important to realize that on Disney, all of these dress up events are fully optional. There is no need to brag to us how you're proud to wear shorts. It's entirely acceptable to wear shorts on Disney - every day and every night.
  6. The water may be a little cool but the air temperature should be quite comfortable for most of the day.
  7. Exactly why I tell people to read Carnival's documentation for themselves and ensure they are in compliance. Every time a thread like this pops up, people on here just trying to be helpful share wrong information. They won't be there when you're at the pier with the wrong documents in your hand. I know it's easier to go on social media and ask a question than it is to just find out the answer on your own, but you'll be the one watching the ship sail away from the dock if you're too lazy to do the research for yourself.
  8. Carnival's list of documentation necessary is on their website and clearly explained. Please read it for yourself. https://www.carnival.com/help?topicid=3409
  9. Option B does nothing for the present situation, can only help for the future.
  10. I have heard from my TA that Carnival's payment system for TAs can be glitchy as well. Often they have to call Carnival's TA support line to get the payment applied manually apparently. I'm not sure what benefit the TA would get from not accepting the gift cards - the money paid for the cruise goes directly to Carnival anyway, they don't skim off the top - Carnival will pay them their commission.
  11. Anything that isn't making revenue of some kind is gone. That includes libraries, even though they are often used as Chef's Table venues on ships without dedicated Chef's Table venues. I guess they have another place to hold Chef's Table now.
  12. Just keep in mind that Carnival does not have a published schedule of comps. Beyond drinks on us being extended at 1500 points, everything above and beyond that is at the discretion of the house. You could end up using your spouse's card and each rack up 10,000+ points and not get a single comp. Take home point - don't gamble for the comps. Gamble for entertainment.
  13. Carnival won’t take payment directly from the guest when using a travel agent.
  14. They have been adding lifts to the ships as they go into drydock (Paradise just got one installed). But I don't think Dream has had one installed yet. My assumption is it isn't something they can install when the ship is cruising - must be done when drydocked.
  15. On the whole - the company will do what it wants to do. Bacation is never going to end for example. But small things, our surveys do have impact - Fun Times are back to being delivered every night for example.
  16. Precisely, I know what Carnival is capable of and the current product is so far beyond that I feel it is my duty to call it out. Especially when it comes to drugs and violence - we see in the general populace how quickly things like this can go out of control if not nipped in the bud swiftly and with zero tolerance. I hope that people here who read my posts recognize that I am fair. I am hard on Carnival where they need improvement, and I am not too proud to give them kudos where earned. People who wave away my comments by saying "oh, he just doesn't like Carnival anymore!" - in my opinion, says more about them than it does me.
  17. I relay my experiences and opinions. Same as everyone else here. If the opinions of one person on an anonymous forum is enough to bring them down then there’s no saving them! Many here are fine cruising where there’s drug use. I’m not. Carnival needs to do more to keep the drug users off their ships. The violence is a separate - possibly related - issue. Carnival ships thankfully aren’t skid row, but the situation can quickly degrade if not taken care of promptly and without mercy.
  18. And next time cruise a line that isn't struggling with drugs and violence on their ships.
  19. When did I say that? I was on a Carnival ship over Labor Day and have one booked for mid-May. I was on 5 Carnival cruises in the 18 months immediately following the COVID restart. I am just not a Carnival apologist or shareholder like many on here.
  20. We'd all still be carrying British Pounds if we Americans had a propensity to trust government and bow to authority at every turn.
  21. Spoken like a fed. We found nothing so our search program is working. Meanwhile the ships reek of pot every week.
  22. In my book, 50 searched with nothing found is a 0% success rate. Only in government is 0% success considered acceptable.
  23. Disney doesn't really have formal nights. They have dress up optional nights. As far as I am aware they don't have a dress code other than basic stuff like no bathing suits indoors.
  24. Port Canaveral is about a 45 minute to hour long bus ride from MCO.
  25. Didn't - slip of my mind I suppose - I am so used to those words going together I just typed it out of habit I suppose.
