It is priced high because it's a huge profit center for them and people pay it.
I'm sure their cost has decreased over time, yet they charge more and more people are buying it - more money for Carnival.
Carnival isn't discounting because they don't have to. Their ships are sailing full at the current rates. I believe I told folks on here months ago that waiting for black friday would only cause you to pay more, because Carnival won't have a sale and the cruise you want will be more expensive by then.
If you want a discount, go buy a TV. They're basically giving them away this year because nobody is buying crap like that anymore.
I was on Magic over Labor Day and the food was not good at all. It sounds like they've improved - that is good to hear. Frankly the fact that your philly cheesesteak was warm is an improvement - mine was still frozen when they gave it to me and it smelled like dog food.
I was on Sunshine last year on deck 1 far aft (actually I think the next to last room on the hall if I'm remembering correctly). Right above the aft thrusters and screws. Vibration when underway was not an issue that I recall, but the vibrations and noise when docking were wicked.
That said, for the right price I'd stay in that exact same room again tomorrow. The hall was a dead-end so it was very quiet except during docking.
I was mostly talking about the same old tired argument of alcohol being legal but marijuana is not. Everyone thinks they have some new and genius revelation when they point out that fact I suppose.
The Margaritaville resort in Nassau is very nice - recommend a visit. Although I'm not sure how much they'll let you do without buying a day pass. Not sure if you're interested in that or not.
I'm going to be honest with y'all at this point and say that basically the entire time I'm on a Carnival cruise ship, including elegant night, I'm in pajamas.
I don't mean like "ma in her kerchief and I in my cap" pajamas (I don't own anything like that), but lounge clothes. Loose-fitting t-shirts, drawstring shorts, slides, etc.
should be fairly similar to most other 8 day cruises on Carnival, give or take. Saint Greg should have some funtimes you can look at to get an idea. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/
Data points are just data points - they're meaningless especially since they're impossible to verify. Carnival does not publish their comp schedule.
I would never advise somebody to play in the casino on Carnival purely to get comps.
Go to the main dining room on embarkation day, the maitre'd will be there. Suite guests get priority dining reservations (still not a guarantee they'll have space).
Unless you're sailing on a newer ship with bigger TVs etc, they'd be better off bringing a Game Boy because it's no fun playing games on the tiny 13" TV that you have to stare up at the whole time. But each to their own.
Maybe, maybe not. The letter explaining the ban seemed to suggest it was due to behavior as much as it was the drug. But at the same time, to piggyback off your example scissors are not a schedule I drug - so I don't think they needed any reason other than the drugs to ban her.
Usually on the last sea day, and on most ships you can order whatever you want or grab something off the tray. On Excel class you get one glass of wine.
My guess is that small Keurig has such a small heating element it isn't really triggering anything in the machine, so they don't notice what it is and just wave the bag through. I wouldn't want their machine to get confiscated so yes definitely let them know!
