  1. The Hub app (and Carnival's chat feature which is built in to the Hub app) needs an Android or iOS device to work. It won't work on anything else. I doubt you would be able to get this Gabb Watch connected to the ship's wifi in the first place.
  2. If by "shows" you mean karaoke in front of a screensaver - then yes, Carnival has shows most nights.
  3. When flying out of MCO, strongly recommend reserving a time to go through security using MCO Reserve. Google it and you'll find it. I have used it a few times and it is legit. I do not have Pre-Check but I am able to breeze right through security using a separate line than all the other lines. That doesn't do anything about the hour-long bus ride to get to the airport after getting off the ship, but it's better than waiting in 30+ minute TSA lines at the airport.

  5. I'd personally rather fly in to Miami, so that would be my pick. But I did not really enjoy the Magic on my recent cruise, namely the food was sub-par. Maybe things will be better by this time next year.
  6. Carnival's food quality has seriously declined since the restart, but I think the newest ships (Celebration and Mardi Gras) are somewhat immune to this as the flagships.
  7. They would be at a distinct competitive disadvantage without a loyalty program. Even Spirit Airlines has one, albeit it doesn't offer much.
  8. Interesting question. I guess they may just ask you to open it and they just quickly manually search it.
  9. On my recent Magic cruise, an 8 day, it was offered twice from what I recall. The scones are fantastic. One of the few bread products I indulge in these days.

Just be thankful nobody has mentioned butter or tipping yet!! 😉
  11. It is offered fleet-wide but it may not be on all sailings. The assortment of foods offered during tea time may vary.
  12. I am sure he sits in a lot of meetings where the future of VIFP is discussed.
  13. Would someone really go on extra cruises so they can make sure they get a slap bracelet koozie for another X number of years? Give me a break.

Well it's part and parcel of the declining standard of service on Carnival. It's not difficult to imagine a scenario where for example a special needs or disabled person walks by two crew joking around in a foreign language and they start laughing. The special needs person feels like they've just been made fun of. It's just unnecessary. And back when Carnival properly trained and retained their crew, it didn't happen.
  15. I think Carnival really wanted to grow operations in Charleston - the port could have been the next Galveston I think - but the old money in the city just didn't want it.
  16. They were getting complaints that it was too hard to get in the restaurants, so by charging a few bucks they are hopefully cutting down on some repeaters so that everyone on the ship can try them.

It used to be Carnival policy (and point of pride) that all of their crew spoke English, and would only speak English in guest areas. This way nobody could ever say "they're making rude jokes" or any other accusation for example. Just put your carry-ons in the closet, or under the bed - somewhere out of the way in case they haven't vacuumed yet or what have you.
  18. That is a cancel and rebook generally, so the penalty depends on how far out your cruise is. I think the penalty is $50 per person before final payment for most rate codes. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3401/session/L3RpbWUvMTY5NTYwNDgyMS9zaWQvZlVycEZRVXVQQl9ZdnE5bjZyZW5rZEJMRUIlN0V2cV96WDdhMEg2cWFkUlRQSkYxRXdFdUpLV0phY1o0b0wzUTlsTWR6UWVibk85TzNON0NZNFVtRnpBUWRTaFdkY0tUVTcxZ2lteEtMZGdNaURZdG5TNkxSNldEZmclMjElMjE=
  19. It is but nobody I spoke with on my cruise had anything positive to say about the food, particularly the buffet. The MDR thankfully was better.
  20. What you're missing in that equation is Carnival's cost to acquire a new customer. How much advertising does it cost for Carnival to get a new cruiser?
  21. Nothing official generally but a lot of roll calls on here or on social media will organize bar crawls.
  22. Hmm I thought they removed that restriction but I guess not. Thanks for sharing!
  23. I don't think you'll be able to do online check-in with a TBA. You'll have to enter a name by then.
  24. They are supposed to open all drinks paid for with a beverage program like Cheers or Bottomless Bubbles, to discourage hoarding. It is a rule, yes. On Carnival, soda is generally poured out of a room-temperature can over ice. There are few fountain guns or dispensers, only on a few ships.
