And I think that is also why they're putting Sunshine in Norfolk at first. They need to establish Norfolk and give Mobile time to re-establish itself. Then they can move the ships around.
Carnival just wishes they could fill a bigger ship in Mobile I'm sure. I bet they'll put the Sunshine there once they slot a bigger ship, like Magic, into Norfolk.
Probably fairly rough I'd have to guess. I was on Magic last week - my wife and I are seasoned cruisers and don't suffer from seasickness. But there were some who did get nauseous. Even though the ships are staying well away from the storm, the seas are churned up for hundreds of miles as we know.
If Cheers was anywhere close to a break even for Carnival they wouldn't offer it or they'd raise the price.
I'm not talking about the menu price - I mean in terms of their cost.
It just further proves that Carnival is at their best when they don't have to compete with anybody else. Fares in Long Beach are rock bottom - the Celebration in Miami is priced like a Conquest-class ship - but in Mobile, they're pulling premium rates for a 25 year old ship because they aren't competing with anybody else.
There are other lines sailing out of NOLA. Carnival's only choice is to compete on price apparently.
Generally Carnival shows the cheapest price on carnival.com, so that is already the guarantee rate. The default with Carnival seems to be guarantee rates, and you pay extra if you prefer to choose your own room
That is up to you, there are calulcator tools on the internet where you can put in how much you plan to drink so you can decide if Cheers is right for you or not.
There are no surprise charges at the end of a cruise - no hidden fees - you will only get charged for what you order.
