  1. My sister sent me something this morning that shows Carnival is adding more security guards, drug sniffing dogs, and a 1am curfew for 15 and under. I think she found it on CBS news.
  2. I've booked all our cruises online myself. I've called Carnival if I see any prices have changed close to when I booked and they've been good about giving me that price or OBC. No PVP.
  3. We loved the Havana area. It was always quiet. The Havana bar has the best bartender. (Lizbeth)
  4. We're doing this cruise in July. How do you get the early number tender tickets for Catalina so we can get off the ship early? Do you have to have an excursion booked?
  5. One of our favorite cruises was on the Pride!
  6. I'd say Puerto Vallarta. Besides all the little places under the bridge you have all the stores down the Malecon or can walk the back streets for more.
  7. LOL... I guess it was the 12th when we were there too. I agree, perfect weather. Did you get to see that fog cloud that rolled in for about 20 minutes or so?
  8. They only had bacon at breakfast on the Panorama 2 days. Mostly cooked though. I like it crisp. Pig and Anchor piled so much on top of their bloody Mary's that most people took it off and left it. What a waste. They should give more to the buffet to dispense.
  9. There really wasn't anything available to wipe it down with. I didn't pack anything expecting to wipe down my balcony everyday.
  10. We looked forward to it on our first night of the cruise but it didn't taste as good as I remembered it being. Overall on the Panorama I did not care for any of their desserts. Cakes all dry and not much to choose from. I usually ate a cookie or two and the soft swirl ice cream.
  11. Last week we took a cab to the marina, had a great breakfast, walked around, saw the crocodile, then took a cab to the Malecon walked to Los Muertos Brewing, then to Monzon Brewing and shared some natchos, back down to the Malecon and walked the shops and up along the River Cuale then back down to the Malecon and had some fish tacos and beers at one of the restaurants on the beach that we have eaten at previous times. Got a cab and went back to the ship. We had a great day! Four of us in the cab and they charged $15 average for 4.
  12. Last week we went to The Office. It was just before noon when we got there and pretty full. They asked if we had reservations and we said no. We waited 5 minutes and then they took us to a table right where the vendors came by on the beach, but we just said "no Gracias" and enjoyed our meal even with them stopping by. They weren't real pushy. The beach was super crowded, but we managed to get a water taxi within 10 minutes. $20 for 4 of us back to the terminal.
  13. But were they on the Panorama? This ship is the one that seems to have to worst problem with it. At least in the Havana area they cleaned it up all day long.
  14. We were on the cruise before you and the ship had no mechanical issues that held us up. We had 5,000 people on this cruise and Cabo time was originally scheduled to leave at 3. They changed our time to 1:30 last tender, but at 1:30 there were still hundreds in line that wrapped around the mercado shopping area. I have never seen the line that long. We did finally leave at 3. We actually made it to Long Beach 1/2 hour earlier than scheduled. The parking garage when we got back was packed because the credit card machine as you pay to leave broke down. Some were in line in the garage for over an hour. They let everyone go without paying to get them out of the garage so your cruise people could get in and park. 🙂 Comedy shows were packed on our cruise and we barely made one of them. The line started 1/2 hour before. We never made it to the other shows. I'm enjoying your report. It's interesting to see the differences in just a week.
  15. I had read just after I booked that it was a problem on the Panorama and I just crossed my fingers and hoped it wouldn't be an issue on ours, but it was unfortunately. We did have a great cruise still.
  16. We grabbed one last week at the port and it was $25 for the hour and 1/2 we drove around town.
  17. As of 4/8/23 it's still safe and 35 pesos each.
  18. We had dreamed of having an aft balcony for years so it was really a let down. We didn't have any vibrations so that wasn't a problem. We'll book a port or starboard balcony going forward. The day they actually hosed down the deck, they took the hose and bucket through my sister's room. She wasn't very happy about that.
  19. We were in 7461 and my sister was in 7465 and the soot falling on the aft balconies was so bad we hardly used it. They cleaned it the day before we had to get off the ship and by that night it was dirty again. The room steward would clean the table only daily. I went out barefoot and had to get in the shower to scrub my feet and we could never go out without putting shoes on first. The balcony was moist most of the time and even if you wore shoes, you would track the dirt back into the room. The chairs and railing were never wiped down, so if you book one of these rooms, do not lean on the railing or sit on the chairs without wiping them off first.
  20. We just got off the Spring break cruise yesterday and we got back into port around 8:45. At 9:45 they started calling numbers for people taking their luggage off. My sister's group got called around 10:30. We turned in our luggage the night before and purposely took one of the last numbers to get off the ship. (24) We just wanted to hang out since we live not too far away. They called everyone off at 11:15, we were in the terminal getting our luggage at 11:30 and in the parking garage by noon. There were 5,000 people on this cruise. The garage was packed and the credit card machine broke and they let us all out without paying. Yay!! (Although I heard the people before us had to wait in the garage for an hour in a line to get out while they tried to fix it.) Even though my sister was off an hour or so before us, they had birth certs and we had passports and we passed them up while they were in line and we we on the freeway before they got to the booth to pay.
  21. We did the Brewery Tour on the Panorama last week at 10:30am and it ended around 12 just as the free buffet opened up. Perfect timing! The beer and the food were both good. I think the tour was $36 a person.
  22. I don't know about any buffet back there, but I've heard the best street food is there. Have never tried it though everyone recommends it. Even the taxi drivers.
  23. Without logging in to Carnival's site to see the description, I think this is the one we did in 2014. There were 2 of us so me and my sister rode in one, and they put my brother in law on an ATV and he followed us. We had a blast! ( I would have been in my early 50's back then) I actually crashed into a cactus because it was so bumpy, but no injuries. The place we stopped at for lunch was very good. I remember riding through the dry rough area and then down to where the beach was but we couldn't ride on the beach. I'd do it again.
