  1. There is gambling in the casino on deck 6, generally the casino is open at sea, not in ports.
  2. We are booked on a British Isle cruise for June 2024, sailing from Amsterdam. I normally always book a balcony room. I enjoy sitting out there enjoying the ocean, especially at night. However, the balcony was often quite wet/cold last summer in Alaska. I couldn't enjoy it as much as usual. It was worth it just for glacier viewing, though. Is the balcony worth it on the British Isles cruise? Can I expect to be able to enjoy time out there while we are at sea? Or would a room with panoramic windows that have an impressive view be just as good, if not better?
  3. Just curious if you sailed in 1054? I am looking at it for a variety of reasons, but hesitate because I love to have a balcony on a cruise. I am wondering if, with a British Isles cruise, the balcony is able to be used much? I know in Alaska, it was often too cool or too wet on our balcony to enjoy it like usual.
  4. No. You can only text from the RC app. Also you won’t get notifications of texts unless you are in the app. Unless they’ve improved it.
  5. I would consider it if she was sharing a room. Not sure how I feel about her by herself in a room. Right now she is sharing a balcony room with a friend. The friend’s parents are booked in another room. The dad might not be able to go now. So we are trying to come up with the best solution for everyone that won’t cost too much.
  6. Definitely debating what we should do here. Even considering the 2 bedroom suite without a balcony (old concierge lounge?). I absolutely love a balcony… but couldn’t enjoy much in Alaska, especially in the evenings/early mornings. So would I miss the balcony? Would it be better than sharing a room with our almost 21 year old daughter for a 12 night cruise? 😂
  7. Thanks Ken! I am really hoping that we do to have to add… I’ve gotten used to not having our daughter share our room. And of course, no 2 bedroom GS left… even though the cruise isn’t until June 2024.
  8. It’s a JS with 2, that we would add a 3rd person. The room can fit 3 according to the deck plans.
  9. I think I know the answer to this question, but just thought I'd ask to be sure. If we add a guest to our room (assuming space will allow), does the cruise get repriced at current rates? On the flip side, if a guest is dropped from a cabin, does the remaining passenger's cruise get repriced at current rates? Just trying to figure out our options if one of our cruisers in our party doesn't cruise. We booked on opening day, and prices have skyrocketed since.
  10. There are many places to enjoy the ocean without a balcony room. Lots of open air deck space. There is also a walking deck. You should watch a video tour of the ship instead of looking at pictures. There are many to choose from, and that will give you a great idea of what the ship is like.
  11. It really depends. We usually get at least one taken in the MDR, and when we were in Alaska during a glacier stop there was a photographer walking around with a person in a bear costume taking pics. We like it when they take pics off the cruise ship in ports, too. But most of ours were at backdrops. I love them all!
  12. She's too busy going to college to cruise with us these days... her next cruise isn't until June 2024. I think we will make it to diamond plus before she makes it to diamond lol
  13. We were platinum when our daughter turned 18. She's 19 now and platinum, but with 52 points of her own. We have since turned diamond (yay!) and she is so annoyed! First world problems, right?
  14. I've switched rooms from the one I was booked in with my daughter. Not a big deal. I went to guest services and got an extra key for each room. But I was in her room on the booking and she was in mine because no one in her room was 21 (they were 19, 19 and 20) and were weren't adjacent to them. Our rooms weren't even on the same floor. Not sure why they made you do that with this reservation though.
  15. Enjoyed the review! We just booked an ABC cruise for the first time for 2025 (only have 9,897,632 days to wait lol!), and I am filing away your tips for Aruba and Curacao! We will be on Adventure, and even though it is smaller than Harmony and hasn't been amped, it is a great ship for hubby and I!
  16. @Ourusualbeach Ken, you were spot on, as usual 🙂 I called to book it, and the refundable was the same price as the NRD. Bonus, price went down to less than it was when I first looked yesterday. I'm very excited to have booked this one! I feel like we got a great price for an 8 night that goes to the ABC islands!
  17. Thanks. It's a March 2025 on Adventure sailing, the ABC itinerary. I'm about to check it again. Yesterday was quite frustrating, as in the 15 minutes of trying to figure out what was up with the deposit, the prices went up a couple hundred dollars... must have been booking up!
  18. So, I always price my cruises with a mock booking before calling to book. I can't find the refundable deposit option anywhere. It's usually on the page that I select dining option and whether or not to prepay gratuities. Not there. I went all the way to the page where you put in your credit card to pay the deposit, and no refundable deposit option to be found anywhere...
  19. @RCCL Fan thanks for the review! The video is great! Too funny how similar your story was to ours. We booked our room in April 2021 for February 2023. Originally we were in 10244. Then I stumbled upon 12638 being available last week and snatched it up. 10244 didn't last long, either. I didn't realize until recently that there are so few of these rooms! I thought all of the Oasis class ships had them... nope!
  20. We loved the Allure Suite Deck. Yes, there is a bar and waiters walking around. It's a very peaceful place to hang out. The gates didn't always work, as mentioned above, but for us it was more that they didn't open, not that they were letting everyone in. It would take several attempts sometimes to get the gate to open. We were on Allure in May. The deck was never very busy.
  21. You're welcome and good luck! I hope it all works out. We were in a similar spot a few years ago, had a room between us and our cousins. It worked out okay, but definitely prefer being right next door. Even if the room isn't connecting, being able to open up the balconies makes it connecting and a great space to hang out together.
