  1. I'm longtimer NCL.

This will be my FIRST time on Princess.

Were on Crown mid-March out of LA.

    NOW I'm nervous. CRAP

I caught Noro couple years ago, and it was the worst couple days

I've ever had. Seriously thought I was going to die.

Do NOT ever want to go thru that again. This is part of the reason I have avoided Princess, I kept hearing about Noro. And Now Crown gets it often?

Is it too late to change ships?

  2. That is good to hear! We will be on the Escape next week too. We loved the Million $$ Quartet in Vegas and are looking forward to it again:D

S&S----I think we run in the same circles. :D

Saw MDQ 4 times in Vegas last year, and twice on Escape.;)

I was so surprised to see the Exact same Set on stage,

as in Vegas. Assumed it would be smaller or just an inkling

of the Vegas show, but its the same.

    You will definately Enjoy it.

  3. Anyone have any info about cabin 9844, balcony on deck 9? Bed location?

We were in 985---can't recall exactly.

But bed was Definately next to balcony door.

How I know, is cuz during very stormy night, if I got rolled out of bed?

I would have been wedged inbetween them.

So I stayed awake til storm was less, and was safer to lay down.

  4. This is a good topic because I appreciate new ways to work the system.

    As in get more points.

Now, can any of you longtimers tell me Why theres a Red dot next

to my name, instead of Green when I'm on?

I'm starting to take it personally........:p

  5. BofA reimburses my Atm fees. I think if you have xxxxx amount in accts, they will reimburse Non BofA atm fees.

Like mentioned above, yes its per transaction. I usually take out some $ per day, as my budget or whenever needed.

But I'm starting to like the sound of using Cabin card to charge to cabin,

and get the CC Points at the end.

  6. I think the point was if an employee is sick, they Should be able to take off time without repercussion. Or losing pay.

I was going to ask How the washy-washy situation was, but when its the employees? yikes.

Its bad enough trying to avoid obviously sick Passengers sneezing, hacking & coughing. This happened to me on our last Alaska cruise. I swear half of Canada was on our ship and they were ALL Coughing.

(When we flew home on Sunday, guess who caught it from them?)

When ships food servers do it?

Shouldn't their Supervisors be yanking them off duty, til their better?

    Come on!

  7. Credit card in the ATM is certainly a different animal than using your

Bank ATM card. I would Not use my CC in ship Atm.

I was referring to my BANK Atm card.

I do indeed get those fees ($5.50-ish) reimbursed, when using ships Atm.

In the past I use ship Atm as my budget for casino.

But hearing about the Cabin idea? Seems like that

could be advantageous as well, with receiving CC mileage points etc.

    Informational thread. Thanks

  8. Terrific advice above. And I would definately do the Delta thing too.

    Better safe than sorry.

My experience is a few years ago, seeing a wife, (husband & wife) GET On board without her passport. Similar situation, it got left behind.

I think this happens more than we know, and doubt your husband would be left behind without it. They just Don't want it made to be common knowledge that it happens. But I saw it happen. She was NOT sent home.

Think about it, we all do Pre-checkin online WITH our Passport numbers.

ALL that info is already in the Cruiselines system.

The couple I saw talked nicely at checkin, No panic, and they DID get On.

Sorry for all your worry. It will all work out. Text each other updates.:)

  9. Is there an advantage to doing this, vs. using the ship ATM?

I get reimbursed by my bank for ATM usage, so doesn't cost me anything.

Just wondering if theres a perk I don't know about for getting casino

    cash that way. Thanks

  10. What Loonbeam said.......my spouse Luvs the art auctions, and spends alot of time at them. Mostly goes for the free artwork at end of auction.:p

We re-gift those prints to family who seem to really like them. I always attach the Proof of Authenticity to the back of the frame.

Once in awhile we buy a piece. But like mentioned above, it is what it is.

You don't go to those auctions for Picassos, but they Will sell you one if you wanna buy it. lol

Some PW auctioneers are better than others. The best are informational without being pushy. Seems the nicer ships have the better ones.

Weve been to many PW auctions, especially on NCL, and have learned the ropes. We are not pressured to get anything.

Its a way to pass the time if you have a Sea day & don't have anything else you want to do..... its informational, educational. I must say I Have Learned a thing or two about the different artists.

Soooooo, Go or Don't go to the Auctions, but don't feel pressured to get anything, ever.

  11. We did Alaska, Vancouver RT late May this year, OV cabin.

There was a Big Price JUMP from OV to Balcony, so we took OV & it was Fine.

    Weather was 70 degrees.

It was cooler on the ship cruising, than it was onshore.

    We didn't need jackets.

If there is a big disparity in Price between OV & Balcony? Take OV.

Doubt I would go Inside, because I would want at least a window.

For me, I didn't mind a window for Alaska cuz we were up on deck so much.

We are going again mid-May 2016, RT Seattle, OV again. And saved alot of money NOT getting Balcony.

  12. Agree about the time of year & length of cruise. More than a week, and you will have less families & more seniors.

We just did one week over Thanksgiving, and there were Loads of families & kids of all ages.

Thinking Easter week, spring break & summer, would be other good times for families.

As for Gluten free, agree they are up on it. Just be vigilant.

  13. I hear you..... but thought the Do a load of laundry idea, was terrific, vs. more suitcases.

As for me when I had a situation like that..... I brought Throw away clothes.

Yes, I brought mostly clothes I would have Donated to Salv.Army (some clothes & undies Not All) and Tossed them as I went.

This freed up space for for a few items I purchased along the way.

I bring one pair of shoes, and One pair of flipflops for deck or In cabin.

    Just a thought.....

  14. Marlind brings up a VERY good point.

Since the airline changed your Flights to an Earlier time...

You should call them and ASK for a Later Flight.

Airline should do this Without an increase in Fare.

(At least thats how it Should work.)

I would Call the airling asap, and inquire about changing to Later, versus taking their earlier flight time they moved you to.

THEY made the change, Not You. Not your fault.

I agree with those above, who say, Don't risk a 10:30 Flight time.

CALL & get the airline to Give you Later Flights.

  15. I said this on another thread......Once onboard, there were NO dining reservations to be had, all week. By 4pm sailaway, No Openings!

They told me I could be first on Waiting list.....No thanks.

Since there was just 2 of us, we would show up at Restaurant opening,

    and got right in.

I didn't bother with attempting to make reservations the rest of the week.

If traveling with a group? Then you may get group table easier in Taste/Savor or Manhatton.

    BOOK YOUR SHOWS AHEAD TOO.

WE WERE ABLE TO BOOK MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, TWICE, BEFORE SAILING DATE.

WORTH IT. (but we actually didn't show up for one, because too tired.) lol
