  1. We did the turtle farm through carnival last may. It was our 1st cruise and our 1st port. Our 10y.o. had a blast! I loved the lagoon snorkeling. My fiance freaked out when something brushed against her leg, soooo she then enjoyed the little water park. All the turtle stuff was so cool and great. But, the hidden gem, was the lunch. I believe there is a with or without lunch option. We are amatuer "foodies" and everything was HUH-MAZING!! But, yes, they pick you up, drop you off and you still have a little time to troll the port shopping. Have fun!!

  2. I didnt creep on, so all i know is your title lists west virginia. We live in south central pa. I have family in florida so driving to miami this april is no problem. Since you are ik with driving to baltimore, what about flights from bwi, dulles(iad) or national? I was looking for flights and without much effort i found roundtrips for >$250. Now, you wont find good airfare more than 4 months out, you have to have faith in how flight pricing works and hold off buying your airfare until at least 60 days prior to sailing. Right around 45 days is about the best, unless you have huge cajones and can wait til about 30 days out. I wouldnt push it more than that. It seems like you really want to do the vista, just hold off on your airfare and you may save 500-700. But, this is of course, hypothetical. This post has been monitored for quality and training purposes.

  3. Yes .

Please don't be the ones that show up at breakfast with the robes on, though. Save it for your room.

And I say this because I have seen things that cannot be unseen and are forever burned into my memory, unfortunately.

Sometimes your eyes just "Boldy Go!". That's what the bars are for!

But i guess if someone didnt tie their robe it could make for awkward buffet line small talk..... "Awww hey, could you pass me an apple. Look at all that bacon. Your d!ck is out" Geez, that's the guy you would end up seeing every where you go on the ship. No matter what time, no matter what restaurant.... you'd look up and see ole Buffet Robe-Guy. There's no claiming there fun guarantee for that one.

May peace settle the burns of your mind's eye!

  4. So, first off, I'd like to say that I sure am having a great time here. I truly have learned quite a bit about cruising. For that, my familly and I are grateful. Now, onto business at hand. In 80 days or so.

I do enjoy delighting strangers' ear-holes with my, dicey-at-best, renditions of some of my favorite tunes.

    2 big questions, possibly a 3rd:

Can i bring my own karaoke disc for 1 song I know they dont have?

Do they have the Love Boat theme? If so, how bad would that be to do? Like last day bad?!

If they dont have it, is the karaoke operation run by communists and al kaeda?

'MURICA! We need a Bald Eagle icon. Just saying. Admins, get on that. I know you're reading this.

  5. OMG.......I have heard about this, but rarely encounter it.

    A thread with a sense of humor!:D

    Happy Cruising !

    Reader

Im so glad i can bring a joy to even a few. Our next one will be in June '17 out of Baltimore. It's less than 2 hrs from home. So, if you happen to be on that one..... the teabags and shots are on me!! Just think of it!! Free-bagging all the way to the Bahamas!!!! I like you guys

  6. We are on the April 9th Breeze sailing, this will be our 2nd cruise and i wanted a cove balcony. However, that was promptly halted by committee (gf and our daughter 11) in favor of, i was just starting to be ok with it, an aft balcony on deck 9. Long story short, we now have an additional fam member joining us. So i just called and switched to a 4 person balcony. It is something that we will get a cove or higher. But wont know the exact cabin until closer to departure. Soooo all you lousy scavengers :D someone better call and grab it...... but hopefully some 1st time schlub falls into it!!

Btw: we want to meet some new friends. I will be the guy wearing a tshirt with a horribly inappropriate phrase on it. Find me and we will imbibe!

  7. I didnt know if there is a lot or garage that may be on radar as a good value compared to the port. But, i guess i should stop trying to fight the man and just park in his garage. I'll definitely be playing Rage Against the Machine at an inappropriate volume when i take the stub from the automated-parking-jackbooted thug. :D

  8. Hey there, we are sailing on the Breeze in April and will be arriving by car. Is the port parking the best value/safety option? I would imagine that no hotel lets you use their lot for a week, but a cheap lot that may or may not have all or most of our car when we get back isn't good either. We appreciate the help and pointers. Thanks!

  9. Good afternoon. We are booked on Breeze April 9th sailing and scored an aft balcony. This will be only our 2nd cruise and we are super excited. I am just checking on how good a room it is. IIRC it's cabin #9479. Also, for price protection, how do we determine if the rates have dropped? Just trying to save if we can. I appreciate the help all you experts have to offer!!

  10. You're going to love the Breeze. Spectacular ship & crew.

Recently sailed a B2B on the Breeze, a 6 day & 8 day. Only downside was the tremendous difference between the passengers from the 6 day to the 8 day.

During the 6 day there were 4 fist fights & a lot of rude behavior by passengers to crew & passengers to other passengers. The MDR was empty most evenings, the buffet packed. During the 8 day there were no fights, awesome passengers, MDR was packed each night with people lining up to get in 20 minutes prior to opening. I can go on & on, the difference between passengers was insane (for the 6 day) and amazing (for the 8 day). It was like night & day.

Crew members have a name they refer to passengers of a 6 day or less sailing. And I don't blame them one bit.

I could not wait for the 6 day passengers to disembark. Wish I could have mixed two 8 day sailings together instead of the 6 day with the 8 day. Will never do that again. Cruise on a 6 day or less sailing at your own risk.

    :)

so i'm dying to know.... what's the name short <6day people?

  11. we were on the paradise in may. my gf smokes, i like to be part of the group, my dad smokes the occasional cigar. our daughter was a slide fanatic so we stayed on the lido. we were able to get a spot fairly easily but we were usually there by 11. we shared, and most others would share a light, a chair or a laugh. a lot of people vaping. we walked the decks at all hours. we saw a 50-something gentleman smoking a cigar and reading for about an hour or more one evening on the upper level overlooking lido and no one seemed to bother him. randomly we'd see people vaping in non-smoking areas, that's on them. i dont care but they should be considerate of others. also, i'm no K-9 but i couldnt help but think i smelled something a little funny  on a few late night walks on the top deck and again more than once in a few areas in the very back that didnt have many people. so i guess what i'm saying is the paradise was very smoker friendly.

  12. I'll be on the Paradise next week, and am looking forward to the relaxation! When I want to find something to do, I will look and more than likely find some fun.

We just went on our first cruise ever on the breeze. here's something that occupied our time for about 15 minutes the first morning. go to the top most deck, past the mini golf to the front of the ship. on either side will be a small door going out to the front observation area. with the ships speed and the wind, it creates a wind-tunnel type effect and the wind moves thru that little doorway at about 60+mph. our little girl and i had a blast, she's 10 and i had to hold on to her. i am north of 250lbs and i had to hold on for dear life. have fun...
