  1. We sailed the Magic in April, here you go:

    • Yes. The casino, near the cashier window as I recall.
    • Plenty of inside, such as library. Or, outside, such as sides of deck 5 or Lido that bar staff dont roam.
    • I tend to always be cold, my SO likes it cold. Our cabins have always been chilly enough that I use a blanket. Even this year on deck 11 w/ balcony.
    • I dont have sleeping problems, here is my advice that helps me sleep: If I dont sleep well one night, I make sure to do more stuff and/or have 1 more drink than the day before until I find a balance.
    • Have never cruised in October, but I take a hoodie and pants in April. Nights at sea tend to be cool most times of the year.

As always, YMMV. Have fun, have a drink, go down the slides. Stay up late and eat pizza and cookies. Do everything, never go home and say I wish I would've done blah blah blah....;p

  2. We were in Coz back in April. It was our 2nd time. We rented a jeep as did a few of our other groups did. We met at Coconuts for lunch. I volunteered to drive back to thr port to pick up bro and sis inlaw that did an excursion. On the way back I saw a guy that wrecked a scooter, but the other thing that got me thinking was the empty road and miles of not passing anything or anyone. I definitely travel differently now that I have a family. We get drinks almost everywhere we go. I guess from now on we will just buy a couple bottles from duty-free and brown-bag it!;p

  3. Ok, we were on the Magic 29th sailing, this was our 3rd cruise. We booked last April on our drive home from our Breeze cruise. I started researching excursions last fall as I wanted to see some ruins. After hours of reading differents sites and reviews, we decided on Altun Ha. We booked through Belize Exotic Adventures. We had family and friends totalling 10 on this cruise but only 5 committed to going.

I started emailing in early February. We selected the private tour with lunch and were quoted 70 pp. We emailed back and forth and always got prompt replies. Well, once we got onboard, 3 others wanted to join. I said, we can try but not sure they can accomadate extras this late.

We tendered to port, and made out way to the exit. Now,this is the big step, actually leaving the safety of the port. Some people have said that there are people just hanging on fences, and just swarm you as soon as you walk out. There were maybe 10 - 12 people outside, a couple women offering to braid hair and the others are offering excursions. I told the others in my group to wait in the port and I would walk out myself. As soon as I walked out, 3 or 4 guys started moving closer asking me where we wanted to go. I announced I had a tour with Nikolai and Belize exotic and one of them stepped up and the others backed off. *Pay attention here* The guy asked my name and I said i had a reservation and I asked him to give me MY name. He pulled printout of my email and read it to me and i immediately rested my sphincter and released the grip on my tactical pen. Yes, I carry a tac pen every where I go. I called out the rest of the group and he said the extra 3 were no prob! Well let me tell you what an amazing trip we had!!! First, Nikolai took all our pics on the Belize sign. Next, because we had 8 people he knocked it down to 50 pp and DD is 12 and the knocked hers down to 40 i think. Nikolai handed us off to his sister Natalie. We left the port and she gave us great history and facts! We were some of the first ones at Altun Ha and it was SOOO AMAZING! On the way back she stopped and picked us a cashew fruit which we ate with our lunch. It was chicken, rice and beans. They also had some of the best habanero salsa I have ever had!! The habanero plant was beside the front door, btw. They also sevred us a sample of the "Royal Rat", far too long to explain, google it or go to Belize and ask. We also stopped at a roadside wine stand(i make wine and this stuff was different but good, we bought 2 small bottles) and a big fruit stand just before we got back to town. Going back through town we definitely took some side roads that i probably wouldnt have wanted to walk down but i also feel like that when i go to DC. We made it back in plenty of time and did some browsing in the port shops. Many factors went into our decision, time in port, recent news, excursion reviews and as always your experience may vary. We also did a private island tour in Roatan but that's a different post.

  4. Last year for our Breeze cruise we booked the gaurantee balcony. We ended up with the balcony, LITERALLY, directly above the BBQ. We looked down at the blue awning. Now, others had complained about the location being above the BBQ, others bitched about balconies on 6th floor on general. I had a great time with it..... had great conversations with people in BBQ line a few times. Looking back now, our spa balcony on 11 was much better but balcony above BBQ will always have a special place in my heart.

The take-away here is, any balcony is better than no balcony.... noises, slightly obstructed view or whatever.

  5. We did it last year on the Breeze and it was great!! We skipped it this year on the Magic..... however, we did attend the art auction. While we were waiting for the auction to start I had to visit the bathroom. I was a bit fuzzy on my bearings so as I was searching/killing time and saw 2 crew members in the little barroom beside the dining room entrance. I went in to ask directions and the female crew member nearly ran me over with the little cart she was pulling that was filled with Behind the Fun stuff(here's where the Bic caught spark) and she gave me nav to the nearest bathroom. Well the other guy was allll by himself with a left-over tray of Mimosas. Sooo I said, "Heyyyy buddddyyyy! Can you spare a couple of those?!" He laughs and says something and waves at me. Sooo I slipped the guy a fresh $10 spot, slammed 1, grabbed 2 more and headed for the can. I drained it and on my way back to the auction, I thought Id check on my friend. Him and his tray were still there, I slipped him a 5, grabbed a mimsy for the road..... it was the best art auction EV-AH! So, the moral is, do the Behind the Fun tour becuase you get mimosas when it's over.... and it's a BLAST!!

  6. They are intended to be used primarily by the Breakfast-on-Lido-in-Robe club but I believe your room steward will make sure you have one. Even if you wont be wearing it to eat at the buffet.....

  7. We sail next saturday. Our dd is 12 and this will be our 3rd cruise. I am taking my Dr Strange robe and plan to wear it randomly. I hope that answers your question. I like to show her that it's ok to be different and a little weird. Have fun! But if you are looking for people on your specific sailing, check the Roll Call board. But also search the main social media page for your sailing. Ours is super active!

  8. The dinner menus have normally been posted outside of the dining rooms in the morning. The other thing, you can try to put up a new thread and ask someone for the menus for your itin. Some people mention a web site that has menus but the feedback I see is that the menus are old and arent updated often. Your best bet may be to try to ask someone in a new thread.

  9. While the alleged chef is the Mayor of Douche-ville his burger joint is pretty good. We go to a concert venue just outside D.C. and last fall and had to pay like 12 or 13 dollars for a Guy's burger and fries. I would say they are almost on par with Five Guys. So if a "slightly" greasey burger with yummy fixins and some skanky sauces isnt your idea of tasty then i will gladly have yours. Btw, I will be taking a couple of burgers to elegant night so that i can achieve the mysterious and elusive Lobster-Bacon-Cheeseburger

  10. Good morning. We sail in a couple of weeks and was wondering if any has happened upon the movie list for May. I went to whats-his-nuts page but that only got me a couple laughs from the messages from salty passengers. Anybody got anything? If not, i guess I'll just show up.

  11. I just saw the chart energy drinks are 5.46 and his mixed would be 10.29!!

I ordered a double Rock Star and Vodka last year and it was like 16 and change with tip. Best advice, get a couple 12 pks, you can bring 4, 1 per person. You folks sound like us, I drink a few a day and dw drinks the coffees and maybe 1 drink a day. I was going to get it for our cruise the end of the month. But as time went on, I was really thinking how we could get our "monies-worth" and realized I'd end up plowed every day trying to get my value. Soooo, we're buying them 1 at a time and taking our wine. If you end up with Cheers, have 1 for me!

  12. Orlando is about an hour and 15 min from the port. Should be easy to find good flights in and out of MCO. We did the Breeze last year, my parents had a spa balcony. It was soooo nice, we had the balcony above the BBQ, that we are booked in spa balcony on Magic the end of this month. Between the spa, the waterslides, serenity, sports deck, red frog if your friend doesnt have fun i feel like it is kind of on them.....

  13. You should have some time left to hit a beach, most cruises now give you 8 or 9 hrs in Coz. We always stop at Carlos and Charlies on our way around the island to Coconuts. Many nice places to stop for a bit or places to plant for a bit. There is a blow-hole on one end that is very cool. Take a taxi around and see the island too! This will be out 2nd time in Coz and understand why people like to come back. Please follow-up after your helmet dive, I really want to do this but cant seem to get it past my excursion committee! But a lazy day in Coz is sooo nice

  14. Such a great review, thanks for taking the time. Soooo, we sail the Magic in a few weeks, we have spa 11243 so this is exactly what i have been looking for. Our dd is 12 and we are hoping she makes some friends. We are super excited to try the spa extras. My only question: Was there any karoke to be had? If so, was there any during the day? Thanks again for your review.

  15. I use a cashback card and get 2%. Yes reward cards can get some good bonuses but you have to have time to "work" their bonus multipliers or spend in a certain category. Alot of travel reward cards carry a fee but not all. You can open new accounts to get sign-on bonuses from time to time. But I also have life and work and family. I applaud those that have extra time.
