We, too, would not be happy. A few hours a few times is one thing, but for the whole cruise is a totally different thing.

We get up at 4:45 a.m. every workday so for us, it will be like sleeping in!

Did they let you know in advance and did they issue any refund as you had purchased the more expensive ticket? Also, what App did you use for the taxi? And why did you choose to reserve a taxi instead of an Uber? Sorry for all questions as we will be also taking our first Alaskan Cruise this August on the Jewel and feel so out of our element with the planning.

Yes, they were included when I booked. But since some future passengers book a few years in advance, I thought there was a chance your reservation was prior to November 2021.

I believe you are correct and I also do not believe a NCL option is the earlier train. We wanted both, the earlier train and the GoldStar Dome option so purchased directly with Alaska Railroad.

Agree 100%. We are looking forward to our HavenLite cruise next February on the Encore. We have an extended club balcony booked and a Vibe Cabana booked and we are happy with our four specialty dinners. As we are not big drinkers, we forgo the upgraded drink package. To upgrade to a Haven cabin, it would be an additional $6,072 more plus the additional tips needed. No, thank you.

We have stayed in the club balcony suites on Deck 8 on both the Escape and Getaway and were really happy with the location. Especially on the Escape since they have the DBH. We do have one booked again on the Encore (angled balcony) and I am positive we will be very happy again. I am sure you will also love the location.

When did you book this cruise? I ask since when I booked, all the perks were included. After communication with NCL, I did receive $200 OBC which I got to keep after we upgraded ourselves to a Haven category.

Thank you for taking the time to report back on your recent experience and thoughts. We, too, do not fall into the camp of “once you go Haven, you’ll never go back”. While we did enjoy our cruises in the Haven, we also still enjoy staying in a non-Haven cabin. The only thing we miss is the Haven restaurant, but with four specialty dining meals, we get over it fast while savings thousands of dollars. I do think you did receive a lot of "no's" and that is very unfortunate, and I believe is not the normal.

Yes, but I am inquiring about the passes for the Viva Vibe. We, too, have Vibe passes already reserved for two future cruises but they are not on the Viva.

Yes, this change was made, if memory serves me correct, around November 2021. We had booked one a month prior, then "poof", all of the amenities were taken away. I was not happy at all. There are a few threads on the topic. We ended up upgrading ourselves to a Haven Penthouse suite for the cruise when the prices dropped dramatically but did stay in one of the non-Haven suites later on a different cruise. The non-Haven suites are really nice cabins and I think they are in a great location. With three adults in your cabin, I would keep it.

We book the 6:45 a.m. train directly with Alaska Railroad for our August 28th cruise. When we drop off our bags at the train depot, the next time we will see them will be in our cabin.

I also do not think it is a very very very very very minor issue and would not appreciate if our cabin was not turned around properly and on time.

I never received an email to upgrade for our upcoming August cruise nor do I have the banner. However, I was able to bid on the NCL App for an upgrade. Did you try there?

Very disappointing if they change the observation lounge to add more cabins.

We too have no problem going back to a non-Haven cabin and will be doing so again in August.
