  1. My husband tested positive (at home) this morning. So we immediately made an appointment and went for a PCR test. From what I gather from everything, a copy of that result, along with a letter from our doctor confirming he tested positive on July 9 and is now no longer symptomatic (as of the date of the letter) I am going to assume will be valid.
  2. Would someone who has recovered from Covid and obtained the documentation required to exempt pre-board testing describe exactly what is required. The wording on the Princess website is as follows: Exceptions may apply for asymptomatic guests who have tested positive for COVID-19 within three months of their embarkation if they are at least 10 days past their COVID-19 infection, are fully recovered with no symptoms and produce documentation of recovery from COVID-19 infection. Documentation of Recovery consists of the following: Paper or electronic copies of the positive viral test result from a certified laboratory (dated no more than 90 days ago) or A valid digital COVID-19 certificate (DCC) or a document issued by an official health or government authority showing confirmed previous infection. Guests who present these documents will need to go through a secondary screening at the terminal, and boarding will be approved at the medical staff’s discretion. So my question - do we need a PCR test before AND after? Would a proctored test suffice? And who supplies the exemption letter - our doctor? Or is the "official health or government authority" simply a hard copy of the test result? We sail in 30 days. Hubby tested positive this morning. Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated 🙂
  3. @Thrak - my holders arrived today (VERY impressive delivery time). I had no problem attaching them to my waistband, and I think will stay very securely. I hope you are as pleased as we are!
  4. @penlady - I hope you will reconsider and share your concerns as you had originally intended. Constructive criticism is a way to grow and improve. Just because others did not encounter your experiences, it does not diminish what you found to be true. Their stories in no way affect yours, so I'm not sure why they were even brought up.
  5. I just logged on and got this same pop up message. I'll ignore it too. If they genuinely need something, at least communicate that so that we all know!!
  6. I ordered 5 of them. One for each suitcase for my airtags and one for my husband and I for our medallions. I got the bright orange ones for inside the cases. Wanted something that STOOD OUT. I'll attach it to the strap that holds down our clothes inside the case.
  7. Well obviously I did not look very close! And I looked on Amazon.CA, not Amazon.COM so perhaps that's why I didn't see them. Likely I just missed them! LOL I went ahead and ordered the ones @Thrak posted, so all is good. They are the same style, which is what I really like about the ones purchased by @San10s.
  8. I went ahead and ordered the ones you posted that you had found. We sail in 30 days so I needed to get on it as it takes a bit longer to ship up to us in Canada. I'll let you know when they come. Thanks again for posting the link!
  9. Thanks. Yes, we always comply with whatever dress code the CRUISE LINE dictates, and we enjoy doing so. And we fully intend on enjoying ourselves. This is our first cruise since Covid started (first of 4 in a row) so we are extremely excited. It was the comments of the posters that I found distasteful. Everyone has their own sense of style. But to insult others choices in such a demeaning way rings of arrogance in MY opinion. THAT is was concerned me. Comments that the people in the photograph looked like "detained economic migrants" or that it looked like the people "were caught in a volcano eruption and were still in their work clothes". Along with the sheer arrogance of the comments themselves, they are describing actual people who's faces are in the photo. How would they be made to feel if they happen upon this thread? Inexcusable comments in MY opinion. Glad to hear from others that this is not the typical type of person we will meet on the QM2. I hope you're right. Anyway, I've said my piece and will leave it at that.
  10. Wow. Just wow. I was going to scroll on, which I usually do when I read topics that I don't necessarily agree with. But this one has really resonated with me. I have seen heated conversations about appropriate dress in the past, but they usually pertain to dining room attire. But what people are wearing to board the ship??? Again, wow. We have 30 cruises under our belt, and will be cruising Cunard for the first time in August. After reading this, I'm very hesitant. We conform to dress guidelines. We never wear "torn" clothing (although to buy jeans with tears in them are now considered stylish and quite costly). We are always clean and well presented. Our choice of shoes is made for comfort, especially my own as I have double knee replacements. But to think fellow cruisers will be eyeing us while we wait to board to see if we are "setting the tone" adequately, or looking like we play sports because we are wearing trainers, is not something I ever thought I'd experience. Let alone be in a group photo while we wait to board, only to have it posted and comments made on whether we are good enough? Wow.
  11. Where did you buy these from? I quite like them. Can't see them on Amazon. Thanks!
  12. Yes. Because we are fully vaxed, Princess allows 3 days. We board on the 13th, so we could have the test done on board on the 11th (we disembark on the 12th).
  13. I don't blame you, considering you are boarding the Island the same day that you disembark QM2. We are there overnight, as we are on the Emerald on the 13th, so we are still weighing our options. We can do a proctored test from the hotel, head over to the Regenerative clinic, or HOPEFULLY get our test done on board!!! 🙂
  14. Tiki - I have a big ask. And please, only see if you can find the answer at the Purser's Desk when you have reasons of our own to be there. Would you kindly ask them if they do testing on board for passengers who will disembark Emerald and board another Princess ship the next day (in our case the Enchanted). Again, I do not want to put you out. Just when you are at the Purser's desk 🙂 Many thanks and once again Bon Voyage!
  15. We are on the same crossing on QM2, and boarding Emerald the day AFTER we disembark. If we could get the test done on board it would ease our mind greatly! Someone on another roll call indicated they would do it for $25, as per their website. I've asked if they could please provide the exact spot they found this. If they respond, I will post it here.
  16. Has anyone recently tested at Lloyd's Pharmacy in Southampton? We have tests booked with them in August, but someone on our roll call advised they are no longer doing the testing. They were referring to the Grove Road location specifically, which is where our test is booked. We have not been advised by Lloyd's that our appointments are cancelled, but I would hate to have to scramble at the last minute!
  17. Bon voyage! I can't wait to read all about your experiences. We board the Emerald on Aug 13, so I will look forward to any and all info you are able to share!!!
  18. Ummmm......... can you clarify your question? Not to be smart, but I don't know of any other direction for stairs.....
  19. We are definitely not cancelling our Lloyd's tests! We actually have them booked twice, as we sail over on the QM2 and have one overnight before we board the Emerald. I keep crossing my fingers (and toes) that the CDC does away with testing for fully vaccinated (and boosted) people. We shall see! 🙂
  20. Is it still considered a side to side if there is one day in between? We are departing Emerald Princess on Aug 25, and board Enchanted on Aug 26. We currently have tests at Lloyd's Pharmacy booked, but if we can take care of the test while on board the Emerald, and for free, we would prefer to do that,
  21. Well aware. But other than location, there is often further info that can be shared by fellow cruisers. Hence the question. Thank you for your answer.
  22. Excellent! Many thanks for this. We will target later in the week 🙂
