Very excited for QM2 world cruise - just asked on board and advised likely not on sale until March.

You are correct - my error - when setting up it has defaulted to premium unbeknown to me hence the $36 charge per 24 hours and the super speed! I thought it was excessive given only paid $24 in June but thought it was due to the new satellite! Thanks to you I will now get more days and better value out of my freebie!👍

Currently on board QM2 26 nights round trip Caribbean and confirm we have each been given $80 (platinum) per segment - 3 x $80. The essential package has increased to $36 for 24 hours and speed/access is excellent - no need for us to upgrade to premium.

Weather has been a bit choppy on this crossing - force 10 reached, but as expected handled well! Service has continued to be excellent and dress code on gala nights has been maintained - a male was refused service in Chart Room last night as he was wearing a polo neck jumper and advised to go to Golden Lion pub! Last nights show Broadway Rocks was excellent. We have enjoyed some very good food and have not noticed a deterioration in quality/standards as some have suggested! Much as we love QM2 we have come to the conclusion that we prefer some areas on QV - most notably the Commodore Club which definitely has the edge on ambience and hot canapés! The Chart room has been our bar of choice on this crossing.

Can’t you even find a little bit of rust to complain about? 🙂
I’m not looking - have my rose tinted glasses on and looks good to me!🤪

Can’t speak for earlier in the evening but 7.30 in Chart Room for 8.30 fixed dining and again only been in Commodore after 7.

Delighted to be back on board our favourite ship after a 5 year absence! We have been on QV x 3 since the return to service following covid but for us QM2 is a stand alone experience - particularly on a TA. The Literature Festival on this west bound crossing is very well organised and not in the least ‘exclusive’ as some previous commentators have suggested. We have enjoyed a few of the talks (open to all) and there is a great atmosphere on board - all bars are ‘buzzing’ and dress code is being well respected! Service in main dining room and bars has been great - hot and cold canapés in Chart Room and Commodore club! Outside areas/balconies look very smart and we have found her to be in pristine condition following her brief spell in dry dock - amazing work to have accomplished so much in 3 weeks! Fortunately we are on the 26 day round trip so plenty of time for us to take full advantage of all QM2 has to offer.

We embarked QM2 on Sunday. Our given time was 2.45 but being platinum, and given priority boarding, we were directed immediately into the terminal at 12.30 and through security/boarding by 1pm. However, those who were not priority queued outside the terminal and only appeared to enter once priority groups had been called.

No to PJ’s in any public area - do what you like in your own environment.

Are you on the round trip - if so luggage will be no problem and you will have plenty of room for those Xmas gifts. Love pre Xmas in NYC - got to head to Rockerfeller Centre for the tree and the light show projected onto Saks fifth avenue. Decorations/lights and shop window displays are amazing. So much to see and do so will depend how much time you have. Recommend ice skating in Central Park with that iconic sky line as a backdrop. Best to check weather before you go as have experienced mild and very cold in December.

St Lucia- we used Spencer Ambrose to book a speedboat tour which included the volcanic mud baths, waterfall and sugar beach between the pitons. The snorkelling from that beach is out of this world. However don't book with Spencer as there's been huge issues with them in recent years, our tour we had several non serious issues. Cosol tours are supposed to be good but they do 1 way coach and return on speedboat, and we wanted it all via speedboat
What are the issues with Spencer Ambrose tour - we are booked on this in December.

I am struggling to see the drastic decline in service/food choices etc., between June and October - do you think they have cut back/laid off staff in the last 3 months? We had an amazing time with top service and food.

Tonight's chocolate martini is another $2 more than last night...over $16 Ouch that's more than alchemy.
I think this will be due to additional tax in Spanish waters!

Sounds very suspect to me - why can you go ashore on a cruise excursion but not independently? As far as I can see all passport holders are eligible to disembark
‘U.S. citizens do not require a Tourist Visa to enter Gibraltar. However, a U.S. passport is required: Your U.S. passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date you plan to depart Gibraltar.’

I would imagine you would be referred to the terms and conditions which we should all scrutinise but likely rarely do. Something for us all to consider when booking on board or on ‘special incentives’.

Loving your enthusiasm and detail - need you to continue cruise hopping so we can ride along! Thanks for your time and effort!

You made the right decision - that lunch beats any hassle you would have had organising a whistle stop day in Rome!

Bit skinny with the chips with the burger - have you sneaked a few before the snap?

Some choice there! Hope you enjoy the pub and I’m sure lots to see throughout the ship.

The PG cabins are much more spacious on QM2 than QV and QE and given you are on a TA you will get full use of the dining room. The grills lounge is not as nice and I can’t imagine you will get much use of the grills terrace in January. You have to decide if a more select dining experience is worth a punt for £1800.

I would second this - you obviously enjoy people watching so if nothing else it will add to your experience!

You do know that with Cunard you can carry on what you like in terms of alcohol/drinks etc!
