  1. Absolutely No! Past his sell by date and only a royal will fill this role!
  2. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.liverpoolecho.co.uk%2Fwhats-on%2Fwhats-on-news%2Fpeople-remember-pier-head-event-29221692&h=AT16GaIrMf2NuK6cnRzcQkZcBMMiRBAfzdpRcRHa-rFciIeUBSPHGHpHXvJhidwo0o6lMhLRh9fYZ8Sg5Ii4gwxwyCA6xADAA7QFIfzIcmx6p9fECFWrP16rSiz0J-70vqlb-OxExuLkLbfW34CMuK-jyA&s=1 Going to be an amazing event in my city!
  3. They look a bit meagre but obviously only available in Queens Grill. We have had some decent canapés in the Commodore Club on QV most notably garlic prawn skewers - some selection we bypass - but nice to be offered and add to the experience. Cunard are missing a trick by removing this perk!
  4. We were on board last year and enjoyed it so much we have booked again for this year (first segment of round trip). TA’s always have a great atmosphere but the literary festival brings a great energy to the experience. There is certainly a mixed age range (still more upwards of middle age) and I believe all of the talks/festival events were open to us except for the small group workshops, which have a bookable additional charge, with specific authors/writers.
  5. For me this would be a yes. A few years ago, I was witness to my friend being the victim of an attempted robbery/bag snatch literally minutes after being dropped off by taxi from the airport in the gothic quarter on route to our hotel.
  6. Th No intention of cancelling and whilst looking forward to it still have some mixed feelings based on general feedback/comments so far, rather than on this one very negative review. Thank you all for taking the time to keep us updated of your experience.
  7. There are lots of ‘Cunarders’ who prefer QV - I like her Queens Room and Commodore Club but prefer QM2 overall, especially the Chart Room and Golden Lion and of course the promenade deck. I am not liking the look of the Queens Room or the promenade deck on QA but will reserve judgement on the rest and hoping for the best.
  8. Just read a very negative review on CC by someone who is currently on QA. I have mixed feelings about boarding in July but will try to go with an open mind and embrace the difference. I hope some others from the maiden and current voyage will post reviews/impressions.
  9. I will be taking a chance and taking my usual haul!
  10. I would also add that you have a better experience in terms of being closer to the sea in a sheltered balcony on decks 4/5 with uninterrupted views (when standing!).
  11. Thank you for taking the time to post during and after your cruise! We are on in July and like you think we will like some things more/less than the other Queens but excited to try.
  12. Thanks for taking one for the team - but no thanks - looks like wasted calories to me! Delighted you have managed to get your next trip sorted and look forward to reading about your continuing experience on Queen Anne. Thanks again for your input!
  13. I do not understand or comprehend how this has happened given you have booked Cunard fare and chosen your cabin. Sounds very suspect and unheard of to me. Hope this matter is resolved soon in your favour.
  14. The additional cost for speciality dining has been noted in another post. No charge for blue lights but need to book once on board and most items in Golden Lion are still included except for a couple of Michel Roux inspired dishes including cheese on toast and burgers.
  15. Totally unacceptable and confusing for staff given table will have been allocated for a reason re: staffing/station. Selfish and not in the spirit of Cunard.
  16. Has service (table and sommelier) improved in the main restaurants and what are people’s first impressions of the new Cunard Queen -now that you are likely getting your bearings?
  17. I am also concerned that less choice/slower service in the main restaurants is a ploy to encourage people to use the alternative additional cost dining options.
  18. My daughter and her partner flew to Toronto in October - did Niagara Falls and Quebec etc., then flew to Calgary where they picked up a car and did the sightseeing drive to Vancouver over 10 days. They flew back from Vancouver and flights to/from Toronto and Vancouver were booked with BA using Avios.
  19. I must say I prefer the look/style of the PG cabins and restaurant compared to QG - good job that’s what we have booked!!
  20. I am getting holiday camp vibes from the Queens Room - basic and bland for easy maintenance! Also concerned about the wardrobe space - definitely not enough room to accommodate a two week cruise let alone a world voyage!
  21. Having never done a fly/cruise before, what is the procedure once we land - I assume we collect our luggage and meet up with a Cunard rep for the transfer?
  22. Thank you Watsonbeau!
