It's true...... Variety is the Spice of Life, especially when it come to cruising.
Don't let the Captains Club trick you. Mix it up, traveling is about choices and if you continue to sail the same old cruise line, pretty soon that cruise line will become unexciting, monotonous and mundane.
-
That is not true. Your UBP works at Great Stirrup Cay.
Wow I guess dreams do come true !! Thank you.
-
If you have the Ultimate beverage package, does this transfer to the private island or are drinks extra?
That would be nice and dreams sometimes come true, but not this one! Dam, UBP stays on the ship. :')

Then why even made the courtesy hold option available and issued a reservation no. if NCL was not prepared to honor it? Make no sense and bad PR.
All cruise lines that allow you to hold a cruise issue a reservation number.
But the main point is you only have 2 hours to hold a last minute cruise before payment is required. The 2 hour courtesy hold is now listed by date, time stamped and emailed. You snooze you loose, the OP missed the message.
-
So maybe i can help a bit. I often put holds on cabins and often book last minute and up until around Jan 1 you used to have a hold for the rest of the day. Since then it is only 2 hours for cruises that are in the near future. I hate that they did that. But they should change that message because it surely is no longer correct. So unless you looked for it you likely didn't notice the time stated two hour hold and that is why the cabin was gone. I found out the hard way also.
Has this 2 hour message been discussed since January 1?
Appears near future booking or aka inside 90 day final payment are now given 2 hours to pay or loose held booking.
This is also what I saw Monday when booking a recent cruise inside the 90 day final payment.

OP here.
Either numerous responders did not read fully or I didn't express myself clearly.
-I made my reservation more than 16 days prior to sailing (more than the 12 mentioned in the policy).
-NCL said that they would hold my reservation until the end of the day.
-I returned in about 12 hours on the same day.
-Reservation was completely gone, though retrievable when given the number. Even the NCL rep couldn't figure out what happened to it (and didn't seem to care, either...just wanted to pass me off to a sales rep to book some other random trip without my friends).
Still scratching my head and now trying to figure out where to turn my loyalty. The lack of customer support/service was astounding. It tells me what platinum status is really worth to NCL.
With NCL committing to a hold for that day, the same day policy should have been honored.
Just booked myself 2 days ago with 80 days prior to sailing but inside final payment. Interesting to me was that the same message appeared when processing a hold, "until the days end". However also a time stamp appeared that translated the hold would only be good for approximately 2 more hours and I was only booking a Balcony and not a Suite as you.
Confusing for sure with NCL saying two different hold expirations with the same booking.
-
From my recent experience on holding a cabin that is inside the 90 day final payment, I was only given a 2 hour allowable hold before the reservation was to be released. After an hour of DD, I went ahead with the full payment. This was just 2 days ago.

Both are great but the atmosphere in Tuscan Grill out does Murano.
-
So... are you advocating everyone only wait until 2-6 weeks to book? And then just get what's left over, assuming it somehow suits them, their employer, family, and flight prices are great?
Cause while that works for some, in some circumstances, there's a lot of other considerations - and if you book a reasonable time out as many need to then you don't get prices like that.
Listen to the Master, and repeat it over and over again.
Thou shall, ""NOT book prior to final payment"" !!!! :') :loudcry:
-
Easy to decide on Celebrity's just a few specialty choices. Well you have the big 2 to choose from, Tuscan or Murano, that's about it, not too difficult. ;p
This is the time for Celebrity to offer more choice's ??
Waiting.

Being spring break on the kid factor shouldn't really make a difference on being a 7 day vs.10 day cruise.
However you'll probably have more college somethings on board.
-
Sorry but the Fact IS with the share price at an all time high of $116, there's no need to appeal to a few regulars on CC. :')

GET OVER IT.
The new Celebrity site is everything anybody should ever want.
Moving forward, maybe "old school",
could move forward......ha ha ha.
Doubt IT........

No problems here. Signed in yesterday for the first time to the new Celebrity website with MS Windows.
Nice looking new website that works well for me.

Updates are on with Solstice obviously transitioning to Alaska.
You're question is spotty.....Besides weather,, what specific intel/info are looking for?
-
The little girl has very limited appreciation of fine dining.
If you really care about your child, why go NOT go on a child cruise line like Carnival, Disney, RCCL, NCL etc ? There are just too many Other Better cruise lines for the "younger travelers".
Sorry but HELLO, you're little angel is missing mommies boat. :D
-
Sure hope this comes true.
However, with NCL bringing a brand new ship, "Bliss", to the west coast for Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Celebrity needs to counter and this time, "get it done".

S Class of Solstice vs. M Class of Millennium, Infinity.
Really it's not even close......Solstice. :)

Trying to snag a great last minute deal (inside the final payment period) is a real crap shoot. We have often gotten some amazing deals, but this happens because we are very flexible and often willing to change dates, itineraries, and cruise lines. One particular year we were convinced we could get a great last minute deal on a X 14 night Caribbean cruise right after Thanksgiving and we waited. There was still significant unsold inventory. But guess what....the price actually increased after final payment. So we simply booked another Caribbean cruise (on HAL) for the same dates at about half the cost of X. But if you simply must have a specific cruise at a specific date....you sometimes just have to pay a little more to be sure.

Wow, your last cruise with Celebrity over a third of a bottle of opened wine? In the long run I would think Celebrity will probably benefit from the exit. :D

No one seems to mention one of our favorite perks that comes along with being Elite, so why not bring it up.
Really enjoy the "Elite Breakfast" in Tuscan Grill, gourmet coffee's, Hermosa's and Bloody Mary's. Nice benny if you ask me.
-
Doing the points math on the previous Celebrity cruise might have been hindsight 20/20.
On our last Celebrity cruise in April that was a 10 nighter,,,, we would have been 1 whole point shy of Elite Plus coming in after the completed cruise at 749. :(
Watched a super price our on our 10 nighter Pop-Up 45 days inside final payment for a GTY Consigner Class....... upgraded our Veranda for $50pp and bagged the additional extra 20 points and really enjoyed the CC. Now on the next Celebrity cruise in October we are Elite Plus not 1 point shy.
-
A general rule of thumb would be to avoid deck 12 which is directly below the pool and the buffet. ;)
-
I think your shopping too early. Book a Celebrity TA 40-60 days out.
We did a fall TA 15 night Balcony (we only book balcony's) on Reflection for $999 with $425 OBC plus a specialty dinner for 2. And NO, the air fair did not chew us up, $560pp, Phx. to Rome.
