  1. We don't understand either. We do know that information relayed out of Celebrity is not always consistent. Our plan is to try again tomorrow. We may keep the TA option in our hip pocket.

    Randy

Your hip pocket is more than likely your direction.

The days of the 2009-2012 Canadian Dollar strength is history. :D

  2. After the first night on Solstice 2 weeks ago, I witnessed on two occasions guys not being allowed at dinner into the MDR with shorts.

I'm all for Celebrity enforcing no shorts at dinner in the MDR.

  3. SHIP: Solstice

    CABIN #: 1068

    DECK #: 10

    CLASS: C2

    AREA: Mid-Ship - Starboard

    BED NEAR: Balcony

    QUIET?: Very Quiet

    BALCONY VIEW: Great View

    BALCONY SIZE: Normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: No noise, vibrations or creaks. One of the quietest cabins experienced. Centered between mid/aft and mid/fwd elevator banks.

  4. Really like the S Class ship but I'm not a fan of the hump/bump cabins. Due to vibrations from 2 past cruises on mid/aft hump/bump on S Class ships, I prefer cabins between the 2 elevator banks. It seems to me the vibrations are from either the elevators or possibly from the open design feature which runs from deck 3 all the way up to the pool located on deck 12.

  5. Before Celebrity a few years ago changed things up it was real easy to make Elite. We did it in 4 cruises without ever being in a Suite.

I agree with the earlier poster that the Celebrity Captains Club perks easily exceeds the competition. Time fly's that's for sure, after our next cruise in 3 weeks we will move to Elite Plus.

  6. Has anyone sailed the Solstice end of April in Hawaii. We are booked April 2018 and just read that it is Golden Week in Japan and the ship could have a charter on it. Apparently it is a big week in Japan and tourists flock to Hawaii.

This cruise ends in Vancouver and is 12 nights.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Well you have 2 years to figure it out.

We are as well are on the 2016 Hawaii to Vancouver Trans-Pacific. And yes, your perks are very typical as expected,,,,2 years out, equals mark it up, to mark it down big time down.

Those that are sailing on this cruise in 2016, as others might be able to give you a glimpse of what it could be like in 2018. Stay tuned.

Let's give it a chat in 6 weeks.

  7. Let's just face it, Blu is seriously overrated.

As another poster stated, the tables are so very uncomfortably right next to each other, and all without the dining experience being all that special or different than the MDR. Regarding the ambiance and atmosphere of Blu, it is seriously lacking. The MDR is heads above.

Take away the overrated food of Blu, this concept is nice, but just doesn't add up to the overly charged amount and higher amount.

Without a doubt go with UDP over the disguised value of Blu.

  8. Unfortunately I've never heard someone moving to another level until the cruise is completed. The cruise prior would have been a good time to book accordingly to a higher level like Aqua vs. Balcony would have given you more points per day to get above 300 points.

  9. Makes sense, thanks for the info! Side question now.. I just booked my 3 choices, but my wife (major PITA :p) wants to do Le Bistro instead of Moderno. Cant figure out for the life of me how to cancel Moderno and choose Le Bistro instead. Can I do this online? :D:D

Previous online changes require you call. Since she's a PITA have her make the call NCL.

  10. It's good to try something different. Just back from a AmaWaterways Rhine European river cruise.

Can now speak from experience, and yes, it will be a very long time before I go on another river cruise. Feel now like a river cruise is a bit like the minor leagues. Enjoy the choices, options and venues. Like the Ocean and the big boats. "Hello NCL Escape".

  11. I agree!

A lot posters suggest "Go to the Buffet".

We always like to dress up for dinner anywhere, but we are all guests not the "Clothing Police". It is up to the cruise line to enforce who does and doesn't get into the MDR. I think everyone knows why they don't.

There is an old quote "Don''t judge a book by it's cover".

    +1

I like the way you roll.

  12. For Europe 2016, It's out there to GET. "ALL 3", not just 2, of the Big 3.

    Bev==Grats==OBC.

Sorry, if NOT, YOU missed IT.

The "Go Best", Promo is the Minimum ,,,,, not SO Good.

  13. I was surprised to read this today regarding "designer jeans/jeans that don't have holes, rips or tears".

    Did policy change?

I thought all jeans were forbidden in the MDR period.

Maybe you have been sleeping through formal night in the MDR?? zzzz Must have been, my dear, out of touch as usual.

Been Wearing Designer Jeans the last 5 years on Celebrity on formal nights.

No, not going to explain what designer jeans are.......you wouldn't have a clue anyway.
