We are lucky here only 3 bins, grey bins for general stuff, brown bins for organic and blue bins for glass, plastic and tins, paper has to go in a plastic box. Grey bins are every week, blue bins and paper box are fortnightly and brown bins on the same day as blue bins but only from April to the end of October.

My friend who lives in Newcastle-under-Lyme complains bitterly about how their recycling works, they have several boxes and bags for their recycling.

You're lucky to get your grey bin every week which council do you come under? We are s o t city council and everything is fortnightly, grey then blue and brown together.

Ours is Flow Flex kits and expire this year in Dec  . They picked up my infection in less than

a minute . I personally will not be throwing ours away but will not use after Nov this year.

Just seems a waste ,if I was in any doubt then buy a new kit to use alongside .

Good point but hopefully won't need them again before they expire.

If using LF tests from 2 years ago possible may not show up the new strain. I was testing negative in August, but someone I was at a meeting at was positive, difference she had purchased tests recently. Mine were from 2021 with Jan 2024 expiry date. We have ordered some new ones given my MiL has a weak immune system at aged 89 and we visit her on a weekly basis.

Never gave that a thought, ours were still in date so used them. Anyway we're getting over it now but will dispose of any remaining tests we have. Thank you.

    Morning

My parents disembarked Arvia last Sunday and mid week dad tested positive, fortunately not feeling too bad.

Mr B and I spent the weekend weeding and painting all the metal work in our daughters garden while she was away, I didn’t realise how much hammerite paint stains, and I’m not an overly tidy painter 😂

Just out of interest, what time would you consider acceptable to mow your lawn in the morning if you live in a mid terrace in a residential street? Our neighbour was out cutting his grass at 6:50 this morning. As politely as I could I called out the window that it was too early! 6:50 😳

Sorry to hear about your dad Sarah, we definitely came back with something from Arvia, 3 tests now all negative but not sure I believe them. Just starting to feel better now after 10 days.

I loved the smell of spiced fruit cakes cooking , I used to make Christmas cakes and Christmas puddings years ago but not for 30 years now, but I did make a lovely Dorset fruit cake yesterday afternoon to use up a awful lot of cooking apples this year .

That looks good, can we see inside please when you serve it? I can smell it from here😁

Love the sunset bar on deck 8 with the Ibiza tunes at night.

We had a corner aft suite on deck 15 the week before you. It was horrendous when that DJ kicked in with his rave music. How are people meant to relax with that noise going on? I know he went down at 10pm but 2 hours in the afternoon, then sailaway, then 7 - 10, its too much! By the way the ship sold out of paracetamol....I wonder why? Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Good morning. No symptoms yet. Attending a reunion this weekend in Chester so keeping everything crossed.

Good afternoon Bob. All 3 of us came down with something on the Friday after Cadiz, all tests were negative. Still got symptons, chesty cough, muzzy head feeling rotten. So the last 2 sea days we stayed on the balcony, not the best end to a cruise but we still enjoyed it.

Having read some months ago that individual trays were being phased out in all P&O ship's buffets, and not having cruised since before COVID, I have a query.

I always remember things like pies, crumbles etc. being served in large, individual ramekins which would sit on the hotplates, potentially for some time, and become volcanically hot to the touch. Then the trick of using an unwieldy pie slice to slide said pie/crumble to a waiting tray without a glancing blow on any unprotected skin. I'm not necessarily complaining about the lack of trays (I've read the reasons why) but would love to know how people deal with this 'first world problem' of getting said items to their tables without third degree burns!

On Arvia at the moment and there are no trays in the buffet BUT if you need one you can ask for one or use an extra plate for the pie/hot puds as a tray. Hope this helps.

An eventful journey on Sunday from Bournemouth to Southampton, floods breakdowns and torrential rain. Got soaked walking from car park to Arvis but onboard within 30 mins, a record for us. A day at sea yesterday, cool but BofB was calm. In Coruna now, drinks on balcony and hot sun. Two sea days before Palma. Love the ship and everything is good, so far. Hope weather improves back home, our forecast is looking very good.

Glad you are enjoying it. We are also on board and loving every minute. Pinched our daughters internet just for a quick catch up before the first formal night. Have a good one!!¡

Preparations are going full steam for our Arvia cruise on Sunday. A dry day forecast so the grass will be cut and a tidy up of the garden. Getting things together and the grand packing will take place tomorrow. Very early start on Saturday, hoping to arrive in Bournemouth around lunchtime, traffic permitting.

    What a temperature change !

Same for us, going down by coach. They have forecast light showers in Stoke when we leave but thunderstorms in Southampton when we arrive......oh dear!

Good morning, a lovely few days forecast so the patio will have visitors. Managed to book the Olive Grove and the Beech House for a couple of nights at each for our 17th Sep cruise on Arvia. Will be interesting to see the differences between her and Iona.

Perdy, many thanks for pics and info of Sky Princess, have a lovely cruise.

All sorted now, approached it from a different angle😁

Bob interesting, we tried to book the Beach House but were unable to book 7-8pm, only the 5.30 or 5.45 were available to book. What time did you manage to book if you don't mind me asking?

Got logged in downloaded credit card ,photographs printed boarding cards but at the moment won't let me print luggage labels .We booked select booking choose our cabin no upgrades requested so not sure when we will be able to print off anybody know the answer ?

Try this it worked for us

When printing your boarding pass please ensure you've enabled pop-ups. If you’re experiencing issues when trying to print your boarding pass or luggage labels, and all the above conditions have been met, the issue could be connected to page loading. Try clicking away from the Booking Summary to another page (e.g. Before You Sail) and then click back to the Booking Summary – this will force the page to reload and should make the boarding pass and luggage labels available.

If this is unsuccessful, please check back and retry closer to departure, repeating the above if necessary.

Will soon be going on my first P&O cruise since C***d and I see on the checklist is the requirement to print a boarding pass before departure. To do this it is necessary to upload a photo and add credit card details

Is the compulsory or will they still take a photo and swipe a credit card at Southampton to issue a keycard?

You can still do it at the terminal but you will need to show a copy of your booking confirmation along with covid status etc. We did ours online today, it is all very easy and quite amusing getting a good photo.
