  1. Pitter Patters from the b2b cruises PitterPatter_11_5.pdf PitterPatter_11_12.pdf
  2. I will add that I couldn't find a non-smoky area in the Discovery casino, and so didn't stay long. Were they less civilized? Perhaps. I didn't stay long enough to evaluate. But still, Princess makes the rules and it was my choice to leave. I survived.
  3. Discovery is the only ship where I've seen that.
  4. Smoking is in fact allowed in the casino, subject to some restrictions. I thought the smokers followed the rules. Civilized. I have never seen a definition of civilized that mentioned smoking. I am a non-smoker and do not mind a non-smoking casino, but it is Princess cruise lines and their rules. Not mine. Civilized. I like that Celebrity casinos are non-smoking, but don't like their casinos.
  5. How much is your time worth? I will always pay the $10 from now on to avoid standing in another line, whether one minute or one hour. If the medallion is lost in shipping or if you lose it yourself, you can always get a replacement at the port. The line in Galveston was not a pretty sight and I'm glad I avoided it. Even though retired, I'm still on vacation.
  6. As with any rule, if you see something, say something. Don't be indirectly complicit. On my b2b Regal cruises earlier this month, I didn't notice clouds of smoke erupting in the casino, and certainly none at the bar. The smokers, on these cruises anyway, were civilized in the casino.
  7. Yes. I have done it twice this month.
  8. I buy as needed while on a cruise. There is a risk AARP will be out, oh well.

  10. Vines. One of my favorite bars. Not just for wine.
  11. You can share Internet packages (only one connected at a time) to save some money. Starlink is cheaper (for now) for the cruise lines, but the price they charge hasn't come down. I suspect one reason is it is well known Internet consumption will increase to saturate available bandwidth, no matter how much the cruise line provides. Reducing demand via price is one solution.
  12. I found the casino on Discovery to be very smokey, but the casino on Regal was quite acceptable. The casinos on Carnival's Excel class are huge and they have done a good job of isolating smoke(rs) from non-smokers, IMO. The Sun Princess is similar, although not cookie cutter, so it may be possible to duplicate. Removing the cigar bars may force more smokers to the casino. Time will tell. Too early for me to complain, since the ship isn't even in service.
  13. Looks like Princess is betting more than ever on gamblers. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/princess-cruises-goes-all-in-with-its-largest-casino-ever-debuting-on-new-sun-princess-301999088.html
  14. It is neither punishment nor hypocritical. You can also eat until you explode, but that is allowed by the cruise line. The cruise line sells alcohol; they do not sell illicit drugs. If you are caught smuggling alcohol, it will be confiscated.
  15. Not many have prescriptions, because there is only one (1) CBD product that is FDA approved - Epidiolex. Cash price - about $1000/60ml, although insurance might cover. Anything else is an unregulated supplement that might contain just about anything. If a doctor suggests trying a supplement, it is at most a recommendation and not an "order". Doctors don't give orders. It is irrelevant if a doctor recommends, if it is legal in your state, or even if a doctor somehow prescribes. It is not allowed by the cruise line. If someone wants to risk taking on the ship, that is on them.
  16. Discovery (and Regal) have Surf and Turf one night in the MDRs
  17. Discovery sometimes has a popup Crab Shack
  18. But Carnival also uses that terminal, so the equipment must be there. Someone did correct me on the old school thing - there aren't any custom forms to fill out.
  19. Some video shorts I uploaded. Feeling the need to get back to the sea.
  20. One is allowed by the cruise line and the other isn't. People who only follow the rules they agree with are destroying society. Trying to justify by comparing to something allowed by the cruise line is only fooling yourself.
