  1. Attention Walmart Shoppers! When reboarding, I asked one of the security guys what's the deal with the liquor collection table. They are (at least for now) only collecting spirits - you can still carry on wine and beer. He didn't understand the change, either, but doesn't make the rules.
  2. After all that, nobody checked jack, other than the normal ship cards. I guess we beat the ship tours, cause there wasn't a line anywhere.
  3. I don't remember having to in the Falklands, but in several other countries.
  4. Very strange to me - they are requiring us to take valid, physical passports ashore, or European ID.
  5. On its best day, Virgin is a niche cruise line. Enjoy it while it lasts.
  6. Not really. Our stateroom wasn't standard to begin with, and they totally transformed (unknown to us) it into something else and I'm not sure how much would be applicable. There are certainly USB outlets. I think the refrigerators might have been replaced - ours certainly was - still has the paperwork in it. I don't know that I will have access to other cabins like I have sometimes had in the past. We'll see.

  8. Someone on bookface said they carried on beer. Others complaining about liquor collection. Not sure we have hit wine country yet. I wonder if it will depend on how many wine tours Carnival sells? Of course, many wineries will ship these days.
  9. Liquor collection tables set up in Messina and yes they were staffed. What I don't know is if it is an honor system or not. I don't hear the scanners yelling liquor. If I have an abundance of energy, maybe I'll buy a bottle to throw away and test the system. I'm any event, I think the handwriting is on the wall.
  10. No issues at embarkation. Liquor store in the terminal was opening you didn't get before.
