  1. All cruise lines sell illusions. But to belabor a little more - the FAS is "optional", but it is still built into the price many pay. You can get a better price.
  2. I just use packing tape. Waterproof and very strong. The only way the tag is coming off is if a gorilla rips the handle off. Can't beat it.
  3. ^^^ This. So much is subjective. Don't pick or avoid a cruise line because of an opinion that is not yours. People can cherry pick what they like or dislike and paint a biased picture.
  4. With Princess, you also get bottled water, room service, unlimited internet, and more. I do like that on Princess you can get edible food without having to go to a specialty restaurant.
  5. or any other gratuity. Free at Sea is anything but. and NCL Air has earned its bad reputation.
  6. If available, it would be under specialty dining. If sold out, it would still show up.
  7. I think a lot comes down to the attitude of the passengers. Carnival passengers don't worry about other cruise lines. Don't be a Debbie.
  8. but not insignificant. It could be a one off for Glory, or a mistake, or? The Valor FT were from February and the Glory were from August. Both ships home port in New Orleans.
  9. I would think open on Embarkation, but didn't see it listed on Glory Funtimes. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/carnival-glory-august-6-2023/
  10. Port is a fortified wine and as such should not be allowed to carry on.
  11. Doesn't agree with the Fun times https://www.saintgregtravel.com/carnival-valor-february-6-2023/
  12. Every day for lunch except perhaps embarkation for Ol Fashioned BBQ.
  13. With absolutely no qualifications, I think there are better options than cruise lines. But the shareholder credit is safe, and I don't see the cruise lines folding unless additional catastrophes come along.
  14. The shareholder OBC is at the corporate and not individual cruise line level and is a corporate marketing tool. That some seem to think it is real money proves that it works.
  15. I guess to clarify my statement - they may suspend like they have currently, but they don't touch the shareholder OBC They also suspended the dividend after 9/11. It returned. The current suspension will also pass. When it returns, it will be a token dividend and increase as profits increase.
  16. It's a good thing cruise lines aren't run by armchair admirals. This Princess cruiser sails on other lines, and isn't set in my ways. I adapt to the current cruise line. As for shareholder OBC, it isn't to get people to cruise, it is to get people to spend. It is hard for many to leave money on the table and they will overspend the monopoly money. It is brilliant marketing. Carnival Corp may suspend the stock dividend but I don't recall the shareholder OBC ever being suspended.
  17. Dial up to Honeywell Multics, but probably around 1983.
  18. They do not. Celebrity does, and their casinos are smoke free, but I still don't think much of them.
  19. A passport isn't required to buy a plane ticket to Europe, but they won't let you on the plane.
  20. Columbia is certainly South America and we don't know if the OP has a passport or not. But it isn't Carnival's job to know who needs what travel documents. Requirements are fluid and vary with citizenship.
  21. Even post 9-11 the shareholder OBC remained. Still just 100 shares.
  22. a Carnival brand cruise line. 🙂
  23. and if you don't complete a cruise on MSC within 3 years, they boot you from the program. every 3 years.
  24. Carnival Corp is dual listed in the UK and the US. Neither is the parent of the other.
