  1. That makes sense. We have two back to back cruises booked on Utopia in 2024
  2. I priced a Sky Junior Suite on Star for Aug. 26, 2025, which I assume would have free wifi as Icon does. It was over $15,000 for the week.
  3. Is it the best guess that Wonder moving to either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami for short cruises and Utopia will stay in Port Canaveral for 3 and 4 night cruises?
  4. I read on another social media site that Captain Johnny has either posted or emailed that he will be on Icon in January. Looks like his skin cancer treatments were successful.
  5. The dermatologist hasn't found anything yet but I'm trying to be very careful. I got sun poisoning about 40 years ago and I wonder if something will show up now. We're from the iodine and baby oil.
  6. I think shady areas are popular because of people not wanting to develop skin cancer. My father had some areas removed from early detected skin cancer and I am just as fair as he was. So I sit in the shade.
  7. Karen -- thanks for including all the upcoming ships including Utopia and Star in the chart. I think information on crew for UT should be coming out after the Icon inaugural or maybe sooner.
  8. Caught Icon going under the Great Belt Bridge last night around 2:20 am on cruisemapper. There are videos on You Tube and some pictures on the other social media site.
  9. From videos and pictures, it looks like there are shady areas. Is that correct? I like to sit on my own balcony when it's shady but it would be nice to have a bar and to meet people.
  10. We're on Wonder on March 3. We've been splurging in suites and got a good price. We got an incredible price on Allure for the b2b in a GS. I booked as soon as it was released. for the cruises later in 2024, we compared prices and Utopia for a GS was $2,000 less than Wonder for the weeks we booked. I'm doing a little work for my boss, a State Senator who's running for re-election, so we'll have a little mad money. Like you, I have zero interest in Star -- too kid centered. The only way we'd do it is a family cruise like we did last August on Wonder and we felt the summer, kid heavy was a bit trying. I think the crowding and kids on Star would be out of sight. I did enjoy watching my grandsons having a great time on Wonder. Wonder has a great staff and March will be our 3rd time on the ship. I hope Utopia's staff is as good as Allure's. I did sign up for the Star alerts though just to keep it in the loop. We only sail out of Port Canaveral as it is a 4 1/2 hour drive from our home.
  11. Thanks. Haven't been on the RCI website today. We'll probably either cruise on Celebrity if they keep the Equinox or another ship in Port C or Utopia back to back (we're doing two of these b2bs in 2024 -- enjoyed this on Allure a few weeks ago). I wonder what Star's prices will be like -- probably high. Hope it keeps Utopia's prices in check.
  12. Not surprised -- it's not RCI's fault unless something else comes to light. Their case could go the way of the Grandmother's boyfriend who sat her 18 month granddaughter on a window on Freedom and the child fell 11 stories to the dock. The family did not win the case. I feel sorry for the family and the poor kid who lost his life. It would really be terrible if it was a Tic Toc Challenge.
  13. Is Captain Loy on Icon now as the ship has left the Turku shipyard and is sailing to the Shipyard in Cadiz for finishing.
  14. I also like the sun pattern -- especially on an Eastern itinerary. Of course, the Suite Sun deck is close by -- just have to remember to put a towel down on the lounger before I sit down!!
  15. We're in 1758 -- a few doors down from 1770 -- in the quieter hall. We visited the "door" when we were on Wonder in August.
  16. She thought she'd be back for our March 3 cruise (another one with you and Bucky getting off when we get on -- we've got to sail together again.) We're in a GS on Deck 17. I got spoiled when I sailed in a Crown Loft on Harmony in the January after the re-start -- the ship was pretty empty and I bid on a CL. You were a big help to me with lots of bidding questions and parking (first time I have sailed alone as Chuck was recovering from shoulder surgery).
  17. That makes sense. We've sailed on Allure 3 times since she had the modified drydock. they only did work on the propulsion system etc. However, the 2 story Diamond Lounge and the champagne bar were not touched. I think there will be a Tiki Bar for the Champagne bar -- they are phasing out the Bionic bars for this new watering hole. I have heard cabins in the DL space but that was pre-Covid -- they could do a restaurant here.
  18. Agree about the Tuna (I always pack a small tube of Wasabi to enhance it). The same menu had a great veal chop. I like their poached lobster but on our last cruise -- AllureB2B we could have the regular broiled lobster. The Veloute for an appetiser is a soup that is poured over a piece of French Bread and that has seafood on it. Their wedge salad. If you sail on the 3/4 night back to back, you have the filet twice -- both night 1s, the ribeye -- both nights 2, the lobster - night 3, and I think tuna the last night (of the 4 night cruise). We did this itinerary on Allure earlier this month and are sailing it on Utopia in August and December. Hope you and Bucky had a great Thanksgiving!!!
  19. Ha Ha!! isn't Grace a wonderful CK Hostess/Manager. She was in CK for our August Cruise that had about 14 Pinnacles so we could have eaten there any night -- we were in a JS also. However, we were with the family and ate most meals in the MDR except for Lobster Night in CK. They surprised us with an anniversary cake and a serenade. We are sailing on Wonder in March and Grace will still be our Hostess.
  20. Totally agree -- that's why we try for GSs when we get a deal (sailing on Allure B2B in a GS with an incredible price from when it was first offered) or have some extra money. On the family cruise, we could have had CK reservations every night -- we did eat there on Formal Night. August 6 -- high summer with lots of families and few Pinnacles. We used the Suite Lounge as much as possible and took advantage of Concierge assisted departure for Suite and Pinnacle Guests as well as the continental breakfast. We were in a JS -- so had both forms of access.
  21. We sailed in a JS on Indy a few months ago and booked unlimited dining, which we enjoyed. It was a four night cruise. We did a family cruise in August and although I enjoyed the company, the MDR is noisy especially when they do the shows and I'm spoiled with CK food.
