  1. You could be right, but see photo below taken 2015, of the ship and tender heading in. Photo is taken from the south end of Paihia, the dock was to the left of the photo about 1km. it seems to me that is where the tenders heading. Waitangi is about 10km further around the coast, and had a smaller dock. But it could of curved around toward Waitangi after the photo was taken. So you could probably be right, sorry about that.
  2. Actually I think it tenders to the Paihia Dock. Or a cruise ship did when we stayed in Paihia a few years back.
  3. Share value dropping once you buy the share at this stage is not a loss to you unless you sell or the company goes broke. Unlikely Carnival is going broke, so all's good if you just keep them, when the world comes back to even keel all the shares will shoot back up to their base rates pre covid. The share market does that, goes up down, I've got mine for long term, so quite comfortable with the current volatility. If you don't feel comfortable with shares, its ok, don't buy. But as Hammer61 says with the price for CCL at the moment, it is a great time to buy in.
  4. Yes me too, glad I left it alone. Keep telling the young ones leave it alone, add as much to it you can, because when you retire your going to need at least a million in it when you retire.
  5. Maybe the US$20 charge is because they don't include tips in the fares.πŸ™„
  6. Its an excel spreadsheet, do you have excel? If not I can send you a (I was going to say word file, but if you don't have excel, most likely wont have word.). Do you have any spreadsheet, if so what. If all else fails I can make a jpg file but it won't be auto weight totalling. If you do have excel and for some reason it not working because it's downloading from cc. Send me your email address, to email at bottom of my cruise list. Regards John
  7. just in case its of interest, this is my flying packing list. Maybe a bit over the top spreadsheet. But I found it useful. But it needs to be checked it still complies to current requirements as it was last update several years ago. It only covers Qantas and Etihad as they were the only ones I've been overseas on. Instructions are included on the sheet. John's Packing List for Flights - Etihad-Qantas - (Rev C).xlsx
  8. You probably know, but just in case remember depending airline/class your only allowed 7 to 10 kg per carryon. It would be a bugger to get to the gate, only to find they do a rare bag weight check.😬
  9. Well I did when I opened the International trading account with Comsec, looked up current share prices worked out max I was willing to pay converted 100 shares and transferred to the trading fund it automatically converted it to US$ at a slightly higher US$ rate than I allowed, so bit of a bonus. Once it went through I watched the prices when it dipped I bought. Getting set up was a pain, but after that smooth as, as they say.
  10. Ahh that's why I said what happened with Comsec, no idea what happens with other banks etc. Just quoting what I was told while buying my shares through the Commonwealth bank. How long ago did you buy your shares, I don't know if it's only a resent requirements. But if ANZ is easier that good knowledge someone looking to start now.
  11. I think that's why they insist on the US stock trading fund, as its loaded with US dollars, then no hiccups with purchases as you either have the $ in it or not, so the transactions are limited to those funds. Again that's what was explained to me. but there maybe others with more knowledge that me.
  12. Unfortunately the delay is from the USA end, as they have to approve the trading fund to trade on their stock exchange. you can only use that fund for US trading. At least that is what I was told. And I should point out that's 5 business days by the way. Only talking about the Comsec system, don't know anything about any other banks requirements.
  13. We usually take a small packet of wash powder, and a small container that is a wash load size to decanter into, so we don't have to carry the full packet around.
  14. Yes you have to pay to use the washers and extra for the dryers. Also you have to pay for wash powder, if as LittleFish1976 said you don't take your own powder.
  15. Yep That is what I was thinking, you have said it much better.😁
  16. That would depend I would imagine, on whether you all booked separately or as a group. If separate, would imagine its up to the non cruiser. If a group then who pays the split cost could be (probably be) the remaining two. That's my two bobs worth.
  17. I'm assuming that was tongue in cheek😁
  18. UK to Australia 'Four Continents cruise' in 2016
  19. We have done 2 WC in what some people think of as smaller ships, the Dawn Princess, and Sea Princess, both sun class ships of around 2000 passenger's, and a half WC on the Emerald princess, considered a mid size ship of about 2500 passenger's I think. All three ships were more than comfortable safe ships for world cruises. In fact a lot of people have very fond memories of cruising on the sun class ships. The current ship doing the WC's in Australia is the Coral Princess a similar ship to the sun class. Plan, Save, Budget, and give it ago.πŸ˜‰
  20. Well we aren't "rich" if you mean rich is "oh yeah lets go do that"πŸ™‚ We have to plan for it and save up, usually takes us about 4 years of careful budget to afford the cruise. But if you consider what most people spend each year on small holidays, it would probably go a long way over that amount of time towards a world cruise. It depends on how much you really want to do it I suppose. Some time we can squeeze in a short trip if we can get a good special. But because we love cruising we make the effort, its not easy, but there you go. So to answer your question, no I don't believe you have to be rich, just determined you want to do it.πŸ˜‰ Regards
  21. Sorry no idea, as I haven't used them. But because you posted there names I will look at what they offer. Thank you, always like tip to search for tour ideas. Hope someone can help you. Good Luck
  22. Bugger... But I thought it would be something like that. Mean little beggars aren't they.πŸ˜₯
  23. I had wanted to buy them for years but they were to expensive, when they suddenly dropped, we waited until they had a steady rise then bought them, figured that they will eventually rise again when the world hits even keel so to speak, they will be worth more than we paid. We'll see. In between time hopefully Windsor26 is right and the OBC alone will make us smile.
  24. So using the US$ base rate and run exchange rate to ship currency, would give you a reasonable estimate of cost for that cruise. Further to your thoughts, when you buy a single plan, does that mean you have to use a nominated device, or does it mean only one device at a time. ie: logon with tablet, then logoff, then re-logon with your phone is ok? It seems they expect you to use your phone a lot as part of the medallion experience, but I can't use the phone for mail etc, too bloody small for my eyes.
