  1. Are tips included in the price or additional?
  2. Check the Lufthansa website. I think the weight limit is more like 17/18 pounds (you may have to do a conversion if they have it in kg.). The times we have been on Lufthansa they checked our carry on for size and weight at least twice while walking down to board the plane. They don't fool around.
  3. Hello---we used Viking Custom Air with a deviation to arrive in Athens a couple of days prior to embarkation. Does anyone know if there is an email address specifically for Viking Air we could use in the event any problems arise with our actual flights? I emailed tellus@vikingcruises.com a few minutes ago to see if they can provide this information. Thanks.
  4. Greek Odyssey embarking Athen 11-26-22, disembarking Athens 12-6-22
  5. I just received a response giving me exactly the information I requested. My email request was sent at 11:30am Eastern time. Response received at 3:00pm Eastern time. Impressive.
  6. I've just received the PDF of all the excursions from Viking. Much faster response than I expected.
  7. Hello--I emailed tellus@vikingcruises.com and received the below response. Is up to 5 days typical? Thanks. While we are in receipt of your reach out and will connect you with the appropriate team, please note it may take up to 5 business days for a response due to a high volume of emails. We appreciate your patience. Warm regards, Viking Social I Viking I (t) 877.668.4546 I viking.com
  8. Hello----does anyone know if it's possible to obtain a list of all offered excursions on a specific cruise via email? Thanks very much.
  9. I'm wondering what happens if you are boarding in Athens and don't have your test result (required by Greece) due to malfunctioning/lost phone or tablet or lab error in reporting to you on time. Does anyone know if Viking will test prior to boarding and still let you on the ship? Thanks.
  10. Received from Regent via email: Dear Luxury Traveler, I write to you today to share an important update regarding our pre-cruise COVID-19 testing policy. Beginning on August 1, 2022, we will no longer require our guests to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result prior to embarkation, subject to local regulations. There are a small number of cruises — including certain voyages that begin in Canada, Greece and the United States — where guests may still be required to produce evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result within a specified timeframe upon embarkation. These requirements will be highlighted for the guests on those voyages at least 30 days prior to sailing. As always, your health and well-being, as well as that of our crew and the communities we visit remains at the forefront of providing you with an unrivaled experience. This important change to our pre-cruise COVID-19 testing policy is in line with the broader global travel industry as we all continue to adapt and return to a sense of normalcy. If you would like more information about this or any of our other health and safety policies, please visit our SailSAFE™ Health and Safety Program resource page. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

  12. Thanks to Sleep7 and cruiseinchrissy for the replies. Just went to MVY and there it is. Our cruise from Athens isn't until late November so who knows what the policy will be by that time.
  13. Looks like a great trip. Confused about your needing a covid test at the pier in Athens. I've searched everywhere and can't find any notification of this on any official Greek governmental websites that are in English. If anyone point me to one I would be appreciative. Obviously your photos document you needing to have it done. Thanks.
  14. Certainly no prearrival/preboarding testing required for Greece which has been in the EU for quite some time.
  15. Thanks very much MrsKMB.
  16. We're booked on an Athens to Athens cruise. All ports except 1 (Ephesus) are in Greece. I've always been told by others who have been there on a cruise, a Viking rep and another cruise line's rep that a visa for Turkey while on a cruise is only required if you are embarking or disembarking in Turkey or doing a land pre or post cruise extension in Turkey. None of those apply to us. We will be in Greek ports before and after the stop at Ephesus. US State Department travel info for Turkey states visa not required for one day in port while on a cruise. I'm going to check Turkey's official governmental sites later. Does anyone have recent direct experience with this situation? Thanks.
  17. I have also thoroughly researched this as we have a Viking cruise in November Athens to Athens. There is nothing anywhere to indicate this is an EU requirement. There is no mention of it on the Piraeus Port Authority or in any official EU covid travel requirements.
  18. Thanks. I saw an earlier post indicating Verifly is optional, not required. Anyone able to confirm? Thanks.
  19. I did a search on this but didn't see anything. Sorry if I missed it. Will Viking accept a photocopy or picture on your phone of the CDC vaccination card or do they require you to have the actual card at the time of boarding? Thanks very much.
  20. (CNN)The Biden administration is expected to announce Friday that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will lift its requirement for travelers to test negative for Covid-19 before entering the US, according to a senior administration official. The move, which CNN was first to report, will go into effect for US-bound air travelers at midnight on Sunday.
  21. That makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification.
  22. We made final payment on a cruise that departs late November 2022 and purchased the TripMate coverage through Viking but just noticed in the TripMate information it states the coverage can't be purchased more than 120 days prior to departure. So, since we bought the insurance more than 120 days prior to departure does that the coverage isn't valid? We'll be grateful for any responses from others in the same situation.
