  1. On one of our cruises this year, our status kept changing from green to blue and back again. We didn't change a thing. It's no more time to check in either green or blue. Don't sweat it.
  2. I never thought I'd be able to go on enough cruises to get loyalty credit, but here I am. All I ever wanted was laundry. On any line I sail, that's all that's important to me and a goal! That said, yup, they sure are chipping away at the loyalty benefits.
  3. If they don't have the mini-bottles and want to replace it with cheap wine, you can have them replace with 10 beers. And you get to keep the nonalcoholic beverages.
  4. I was on the Ruby 3 times this year. Salty dog was also open for lunch in Jan-Feb and April. Only went once, was disappointed and most likely won't go back. But it was open, empty, but open.
  5. From what I've seen, if the uninfected roommate choses to stay for quarantine, they are there for the duration, no in-out privileges. And if the infected in moved to another room, the uninfected stays in the original room, with a test being taken every day and are allowed free range of the ship. I've been on several cruises where cruise buddies have been in this scenario. Hope that helped you.
  6. We've done the Hawaiian several times. To get the best price, you're going to have to book after final payment. Our last Hawaiian was $900 per person by using this strategy. Also book through an online TA, no I can't tell you who to go through, but there's a hint of cruise compete . They will have multiple online TA's telling you what their absolute best price is. I go through and check every one, because most of the time, their fares are even cheaper than the original offer. It's a matter of just keep looking. That's how I always cruise and I cruise a lot!
  7. Hubs doesn't drink much alcohol, but we have princess plus. So he orders bunches of nonalcoholic beverages. There really is a pretty large (2 pages) of nonbooze drinks, plus a couple that aren't on the menu, but bartenders know what they are. Choco banana for me, key west cooler for hubs. Here's a page with pictures of the drinks. https://www.cruisemummy.co.uk/princess-cruises-drinks-menus/#10-princess-cruises-juices-amp-non-alcoholic-cocktails-menu
  8. It's a code that can be added to any booking. I added princess plus to several booking this year, before the button was available. 2 different TA's were able to add the code to 2 different cruises once I told them it was a code, not a promotion. I don't know the exact code, but any TA should. I hope you figure this out, that they'll help you. It's a great deal.
  9. I get better offers from carnival. I prefer princess. So I cruise carnival when hubs can't come with.
  10. Same deal is available April 11, I'm on that one.
  11. Used them in May, June, Sept and Oct. Will use them again in Jan and twice in April.
  12. Fill in the form. $20 per car per day. at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdt_9ayhReqU1pgmalVMnBNRJHJRtgbVh5b52caGbR1cQMDuQ/viewform Nope. We frequently cruise out of SF. Always used 80 Francisco. Fill in the form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdt_9ayhReqU1pgmalVMnBNRJHJRtgbVh5b52caGbR1cQMDuQ/viewform They will call you back, you give your credit card info over the phone, they email you a prepaid parking permit. If you go through any other site, they'll tell you it's first come, first served. They don't know what they're talking about.
  13. Nope, no testing. At this point, unless the cruise is over 16 days, nobody has to test.
  14. It is wine, states it on the bottle, 100% agave wine. You got stuck on the margarita 'flavor'. No different than any other flavored wine. And if there were ever a question as I brought it on the ship, I'd point to the label and show them it is wine.
  15. I brought 4 bottles of 'not allowed' last month (2 rooms). And enjoyed every drop.
  16. I believe it'll get back there. I truly do. There are so many diehards that WANT to cruise and so many newbies that were told for years they couldn't unless they got the jab. Ships are filling. My last couple were at 95%. I've watched it go from 71 pax on the first cruise out to bursting. Yeah, cruise lines are mortgaged up to their eyeballs, but we've all had economic setbacks that we bounced back from (years and years ago for us). That's why I keep buying while it costs nothing.
  17. We once were offered a move over offer. Less than 48 hours before sailing. We didn't take it. Anyhow, we were in a window suite, 4 of us. It was cheaper than 2 insides and at the very beginning of club class. We all had the drink package (before princess plus), prepaid gratuities and a small amount of onboard. It was the first Norther California coastal. 7 days out of San Francisco. We had booked 2 years in advance at normal prices. I guess demand for the cruise went off the charts. princess kept raising the price, but the ship filled up in a couple of weeks. And it was my youngest daughters first cruise. We all worked and synchronizing vacation was a feat. First we were offered a full refund and 2 balcony rooms on an upcoming 10 day Mexican. I asked if we would still have club class dining and suite dining on the 'free' cruise. Nope. I asked if we'd receive double cruise credits. Again, Nope. I asked if we could have the family suite instead of 2 balcony rooms. Still Nope. I asked if we could have ANY suite. Another Nope. Then I asked if we'd still have the 'free' booze package (TA promo) and prepaid grats. Told me I'd have to take that up with the TA since it was their promo. We noped right out. 20 hours later, I was called again, with them offering everything I'd asked for and an additional 50% of the fare in on-board if we'd take the 10 day Mexican instead of the 7 day Northern CA coastal. The agent starting throwing out more and more and I finally said Too late. We went on the cruise we had planned for years, had a blast and didn't regret anything.
  18. I sailed carnival for the first time this year and had Cheers. Ordered drinks as soon as we got on the ship, why not, half the day already gone, booze me please! Was shocked that I was charged tax on drinks that were prepaid. And they did the same thing for every US port. So, from what I understand, princess waits to actually charge the drink orders in AFTER we're in international water, hence no tax, while carnival charges immediately, hence tax. Carnival also makes you sign a slip on every drink.
  19. They just opened up unfettered cruising to unvaxxed, which in my opinion is the reason for the high positives. I got covid on my June cruise. I knew I had it, I've had it before, so I KNEW. I went to medical on Thurs, they tested me, I was negative. Disembarked Friday, took the cruise transfer to the airport, went through customs, sat in the airport for 2 hours, flew in a tin can for an hour and went home. Where I stuck another q-tip up my nose, which was positive. And on Friday, I was starting to feel better. How many thousands did I infect?
  20. I bought (most of) my 100 stocks at $8.20. I had deposited $1000 (fidelity since they offered $100 bonus with a $1000 deposit). Then, when fidelity deposited the $100, I used the rest of the money left, plus the bonus and bought another 30 shares at $6.20. I've gotten $350 as on-board credit so far on princess, but have been denied every time on carnival. Then again, I only book casino rates on carnival, because I'm not impressed, but for a free room, I'll go (grudgingly). So my stock is now worth $1400 (for about 2 moments, we know how up and down this stock is). Don't care, I only bought it for the on-board credit.
  21. Yup. We floated around the ocean for almost 2 weeks, then were put on military bases for another 2 weeks. Machine guns and spotlights. Our 2 week vacation turned into a 6 week ordeal.
  22. I've never called the dine line, or used the app to make a reservation for specialty dining. We go to the venue, talk to the hostess and the manager always walks up, greets us and remembers us from a previous cruise. We tell them what night, or if the same day, what time we'd like to eat and they make it happen. Never had an issue. Great, maybe I shouldn't have said that, now there'll be tons of people doing the same and we won't get in! GRINS
  23. For me, it's a mute point. I stay one night. Not as though I could be accused of flaunting when they don't see me for another month. Sometimes I WISH I got preferential treatment, would probably get me into my room faster than the half hour wait in the lobby.
  24. My TA told me it was regular onboard credit. But who really knows until someone reports back. If it is truly only to be used for excursions, I'll go on something that I wouldn't pay to do before. My next is Jan. Hopefully there'll be a report before then. Happy cruising.
