  1. There's usually a $50/cabin OBC. If you're booking a cruise that is at least 6 months out, a 5% discount. That's on top of the 5% Voyager Club discount you get from being a previous MSC cruiser.
  2. Does the Seascape have any entertainment in any of the bars? Anything like the solo guitarist in the pub on Meriviglia? Some sort of rock or crowd pleasing music other than dueling pianos or classical music? Thx My recollection is that there is such a lounge. At the very least, there is always someone playing in the ship's atrium. Sometimes it's your desired troubadour, sometimes it's a small band, sometimes a vocalist, sometimes a DJ.
  3. First of all go to the MSC USA website and price your current cruise on there. It will give you options such as preselecting your cabin, adding the drink/wifi package, etc. See what the total is compared to what you currently have. If it's satisfactory, you might be able to call MSC and get them to change your existing reservation. But also look at the offers you're currently seeing on other websites. Do you actually qualify for them? For instance, and for example only, perhaps the $50 refund only applies to balcony/suite cabins. Or when it says Free Drinks/Wifi, you have to pick a more expensive fare, not the bare fare. So don't assume there is a better deal until you price it all the way through including from MSC itself.
  4. Haven't sailed on Seascape yet but have been on Seaview and Seashore and they are beautiful ships. How they compare to NCL and RCI ships depends on which NCL and RCI ships you're considering. Both of the latter have some older ships in their fleets without the bells and whistles of their newer ships. Yeah, I hate how NCL and RCI advertise "free kids" or "free 2nd passenger" but when you look at the prices, they're the same as before they offered that promotion.
  5. View of desk with European socket on the wall. (Deck 5, Ocean View Cabin)
  6. Are you sure Delta doesn't have anything earlier, perhaps via Atlanta?
  7. I would never choose a cabin next to, above or below a lounge with music. Ditto for being above or below public areas. Personally, I always pick a cabin that has cabins above and below me.
  8. I'm pretty sure a curling iron is allowed. Not aware of any cruise lines that ban them. Please note that (at least in my cabin) the electrical outlet at the desk was a 220 European outlet. The 110 American outlet was beside the bed. You'll have to curl from there unless you have an adapter.
  9. Follow the signs to the Miami Mover. In the baggage claim areas, this involves taking an elevator upstairs to a level where "moving sidewalks" lead you to a central area which is where the Miami Mover is located. The Miami Mover is a free train that takes you several miles away to the Rental Car Center. When you get there, the building with rental cars is in one direction, MetroRail and TriRail are in another direction. MetroRail is the commuter metro system that goes east and south to downtown Miami while TriRail is the heavy commuter rail system that goes north to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
  10. You'd have to ask the hotel(s) if they allow use of their facilities as a day guest. Drivers are not traditionally tipped beyond what the fare is, whether you're paying in USD or KYD. But many of them are owner/operators and if you round up the fare, it will not be turned away. So if the total for all passengers is $25 and you give the driver $25, no problem. But if the fare comes to $18 and you give the driver $20, it's nice to say "keep the change".
  11. I've traveled on MetroRail ($) and MetroMover (free) many times without any issues. I've traveled with luggage too to/from the airport. But..... 1) You don't indicate how many there are in your group; 2) How are you getting from the ship to Bayside Marketplace. 3) What is your luggage situation? 3) The Art Deco district is in South Beach (Miami Beach), not Miami. There are buses that go there but again what about your luggage? My recommendation is to price a 1 day car rental from a company with a downtown office and then return it to the Rental Car Center at the airport. Then you can go everywhere you want on your own terms, keep your luggage in the trunk and return the car when you're finished.
  12. There's not much traffic at that hour between the port and the airport. Using the tunnel gets your directly onto the interstate and the toll road that goes to the airport.
  13. No, I don't offhand. You can google various websites and view them to see if anyone has contact numbers. In the alternative, call the Turkish embassy in Washington DC. MSC does a lot of cruises that allow passengers to board at ports along the way and do their 7 nights from that port. If your sailing allowed passengers to board in the place you're hoping to disembark from, then others will be getting off there too. In that case, it's almost a sure thing that you can get off there. But you'll have to ask at Reception during your cruise so they can approve it and close your onboard account on the correct date.
  14. Routes 1, 2 & 3 go from downtown Georgetown to anywhere along Seven Mile Beach. Just tell the driver where you want to be dropped off. You might want to research somewhere that's near a hotel so that you will have access to facilities, food and drink. When you get off the tender, ask any local where the bus terminal is. It's a block inland from the road that runs along the water. All the buses (vans) will be there and any driver can tell you which one is departing next. Ask your driver where the best place to stand is to catch a return bus. We used these vans to visit Hell and the Turtle Farm. They're cheap but since you pay for each passenger, at some point a taxi could become a better deal (but probably not).
  15. A couple years ago we embarked in Kiel, Germany on a 7-nt MSC cruise and asked about disembarking early in Tallinn, Estonia. They allowed it. We had to sign a form at Reception about us voluntarily leaving the ship and acknowledging no refund. However, both Germany and Estonia are within the EU/Schengen area so it was like getting on and off within the same country. Your situation with Israel and Turkey are completely different and I don't think you'll get an answer until you ask it onboard. Last month we boarded a NCL ship in Panama City headed to San Diego. We wanted to get home early for Christmas and inquired about getting off in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Again, there was no problem. They already had a preprinted information sheet about how to do it including meeting with Mexican immigration officials on the ship early the morning of arrival in that port. We had to bring our luggage which was searched by a Customs official onboard. Whether you can do it will depend on Turkey and whether the port has Customs/Immigration officials available. You might want to inquire to Turkey rather than to MSC.
  16. More than a decade ago both Carnival and Royal Caribbean went to a uniform pricing policy where all distribution channels had to quote the same price. So whether you went to the cruise line's website or booked through an internet mega-agency or your local travel agent down the street, everyone quoted the same price. The supposed purpose was to take some of the pricing power away from those mega-agencies which were beginning to control the cruise lines rather than the other way around. Perhaps MSC is now switching to that model. In reality, while everyone's price is the same, the other offers differ whether it be cash back after the cruise, prepaid gratuities, frequent flyer miles, etc. So it does still pay to shop around.
  17. https://ber.berlin-airport.de/en/cafes-shops-service/sgs-poi/550-covid19-medicare-t1.html Also, there appears to be a testing center across from Rostock Hauptbahnhof if your train connection there is sufficient time.
  18. The drink package is a wristband that is placed on one person. But there are no rules about buying a drink for the other person out of your allotment.
  19. Senor Frogs is part of the Freeport Harbour complex of shops, bars and restaurants. As mentioned, the complex only opens when a regular cruise ship is in port that day. There are several cruise calendar websites that list ships in port. It is pretty easy to walk to the complex from the terminal where Margaritaville at Sea docks. Just follow the road that leads out of the terminal up to the nearest crossroad and then turn left into the Freeport Harbour complex. There is a guard gate at the entry but they'll wave you through. It's about a 20 minute walk.
  20. Yes, go with low expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised. "Jimmy's Ship Show" is fun, the food is decent and they're doing one of their BOGO sales again. It is a No-brainer.
  21. Yes, if you go to Port Lucaya Marketplace, there is/was a hair braiding place there. Also, within walking distance to the ship, the Freeport Harbour complex had a hair braiding stand the last time we were there. But this complex is only open if there is a regular cruise ship in port that day and Magaritaville at Sea does not count.
  22. Yes, you should be able to make that. It would be most helpful if you take all your baggage off the ship on your own during the early walk-off period. It would also be most helpful if each person has TSA Pre-Check.
  23. The shared taxis (usually vans) at the port cost $6ow/$12rt per person to Port Lucaya Marketplace. Considering the ride is nearly a half hour, this is a really good value. A non-shared taxi would run over $40 each way.
