  1. Their prior Buy One, Get One Free sales were actually a bit cheaper overall for two pax.
  2. I've noticed this NO CARS AVAILABLE message for many cities, not just Orlando. The problem is not that there aren't any cars, it's that many car companies don't want to do one way rentals which is what MCO-PCN is. If you inputted MCO-MCO, there would be cars showing. Suggestions: *Try Priceline and Expedia too where all rental companies are compared at the same time. Many car rental companies do NOT have a Cape Canaveral office so that limits it. * Try National, which at one time liked to advertise one way rentals. * Do consider dropping at Melbourne Airport (MLB) and then taxi/uber to your hotel from there. All the major rental companies are there so it opens the possibility. Or keep the car at your hotel, drive to MLB the day of your cruise and then cruise line shuttle or taxi/uber to the ship afterwards.
  3. From the airport, it's TOLL SR 836 "Dolphin Expressway" eastbound. When it crosses I-95 downtown, it becomes I-395 eastbound towards "Miami Beach". As the above poster mentioned, the tunnel is a LEFT exit and is signed as SR 887 "Port Miami". Once you come out of the tunnel on Dodge Island signs will tell you which terminal is home to your ship. Interestingly, in the opening of that video where the cameraman is on a highway with the ships across the water to his right, if you actually get that far, you've missed the tunnel and gone too far!
  4. I took this cruise in September and am going to repeat it in November. It was fun. Relax.
  5. In the excursion brochure that you'll find in your cabin or at the ShorEx desk, there is a "Snorkeling With Turtles" option. The brochure does not list prices so I don't know how much it will be.
  6. She should look at what two one-way tickets cost. Sometimes it can be less than a round trip ticket if it allows her to use two different airlines coming and going.
  7. An 8AM port arrival and a 10:30AM flight is just too short. She would need to be in the absolute first group getting off and hope the debarkation is by 8:30AM, she would need to use a taxi and not a rideshare and she would have to have just one carryon + personal item at the airport. She would have to hope TSA is not that busy on a Sunday morning. And also hopefully, she's not flying American where you can come out of security in their Concourse and literally have a half-hour walk to some of their gates.
  8. My MSC cruise next years begins in Jeddah, ends in Jeddah and has one other enroute port in Saudi Arabia. Don't think a single entry visa will work for me.....or maybe it will.
  9. I've noticed on MSC that they don't deliver a copy of your final bill to your door anymore on the final night. So I get a printout at Reception the night prior after any other purchases have been been completed.
  10. 8AM is the scheduled arrival time and then allow about a half hour for the ship to be cleared. I think you're cutting it too close. Other considerations: Does friend have TSA precheck? What day of the week is the disembarkation/flight? Is the carry-off baggage also carry-on baggage at the airport?
  11. According to my Daily Program from earlier this year for the Ocean Cay stop, casino slots were open all day but table games did not begin until 4pm.
  12. Bring both of the pages that show a check-in time and if anyone really asks (something I've yet to experience), only show the one that fits your arrival. I had a cruise last year where we had 3 different check-in times because each time you request docs, it assigns a new time.
  13. Please note this hotel is attached to the Florida Mall. A lot of airline crew stay there so they must offer some sort of airport shuttle but do verify. The Target is very near the mall's north entrance. Please note that it's not a SuperTarget but it does have some grocery items.
  14. If you're talking about a U.S. sailing, there aren't a lot of languages; pretty much English & Spanish. On the European sailings, announcements are in at least 5 languages as are the passengers but nearly everyone speaks English if you want to chat. On U.S. sailings, the nightclub is dominated by Hip Hop, Top 40 and Line Dances. On European sailings, there's a lot more House & EDM. MSC has quite a few singles on board because they don't gouge with a Single Supplement like nearly everyone else does. You won't be alone and if you're traveling during the school year, not a lot of kids on board either.
  15. On Ocean Cay you will also have access to your data plan from your cellular phone company, assuming that's something you want to use. We had cell service from BATELCO in nearby Bimini which works with our Verizon service throughout the Bahamas. If you have international service with your carrier, you can use this option as well.
  16. How soon they board is dependent on how many passengers were on the prior cruise. If you're on a cruise that follows a weekend cruise where there were a lot of guests (1500 or so), boarding will be later as it takes longer to get everything ready. If you yourself is on a weekend sailing, it's likely the sailing before you was not very busy so boarding will begin earlier. My recent experience was a Thursday sailing which means the sailing prior departed on Tuesday. The woman working the gangway entrance told me that sailing only had about 400 guests. We boarded by 12:30pm and were told the cabins were ready to go to.
  17. This news about the 2022/2023 season was just posted: https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/28410-msc-expands-red-sea-deployment-for-splendida.html While this does not answer your question specifically, it is an indication that enough people are booking it that they would want to do it again the following year. Also, Saudi Arabia itself is very committed to expanding their tourism numbers and cruises represent large numbers with each sailing. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/28347-saudi-arabia-achieves-121-percent-pre-pandemic-recovery-in-tourism-sector.html My guess is that in early 2023 we will see the the 2023/2024 sailings posted but do look later this year too because they could drop sooner than my guess.
  18. I completed our forms last week and just got the approvals today for our cruise this coming Sunday. So they work them in some order based on your sailing date. I think they plan to keep the application form and $40 fee. According to an article I read last week in the Royal Gazette, they're making $millions from the fee for the Government coffers and don't want to give it up.
  19. We boarded an MSC cruise in Kiel, Germany and disembarked at Tallinn, Estonia a couple days before the ship returned to Kiel. We informed the Reception desk and they made us sign a waiver form acknowledging that we were ending the cruise early and that there would be no price reduction for the missed days. You shouldn't have any problem as long as where you embark and where you disembark are both in the EU.
  20. I don't recall any issues on Vista. I always cruise with with a power strip that takes up to 6 items. Plug it into one of the 110 outlets (USA/Canada standard) and it allows me to charge my laptop, phone, camera, wife's phone, etc, all at the same time.
  21. Did everyone misread this question? OP says they're sailing on Horizon out of Miami. Could the question about a 12:00 flight time cutting it too close pertain to an inbound Miami flight and then heading to the port, rather than the other way around? NEVER MIND....THE THREAD'S TITLE DOES SAY PERTAIN TO AN OUTBOUND FLIGHT.
  22. Glad that worked for you. Please note that the only hotel within walking distance of the Orlando Amtrak station is a TownePlace Suites by Marriott. There are more hotels a little further north in downtown but those would require a taxi/uber ride.
  23. Do take a look at Amtrak which may have one train on your day of travel. The Tampa station is near the cruise terminal while the Orlando station is near downtown Orlando but there are also stations in downtown Kissimmee and downtown Winter Park.
  24. If you provide proof of vaccination, then a covid test is not required. If you don't provide proof of vaccination, then a covid test IS required.
