  1. We enjoyed a guided tour into the Yukon Territory, having lunch, seeing the sled dogs and then riding the railroad back to Skagway. Unbelievable scenery. We went on a 6 hour wildlife boat trip in Steward after we disembarked from the ship. We saw all kind of animals and glaciers. It was amazing! Also whale watching in Juneau for sure! (We were on a Holland American ship)

  2. On our last cruise (February), we had an issue that was unable to be addressed on board and it took about two months and numerous contacts (phone, email, surveys) in order for it to be resolved.

My husband took care of it, since he "enjoys" following up on things like this. He got a resolution when he did some research online and found an email address that bypassed the standard customer service.

Also, be concrete in what you want the resolution to be. We were offered the standard $25 OBC and a bottle of wine. I was actually amazed by what we ended up with after it was all said and done. My husband was always nice and polite. He stated the facts and reminded them that we have two more cruises scheduled with NCL.

Yes...you can get resolution. But you have to be patient, persistent and above all polite. Good luck!

Are there certain issues that can be resolved on board vs ones that have to go to corporate? What is the difference?

  3. Honey, grab the popcorn.

    Ha Ha!

BTW: if I have any problem while on board, I will go straight to Customer Service right then and not wait until I am off the ship! Hopefully I will get some resolution right then and there. This will be my first cruise with NCL so we will see.

  4. Thank you! He just got on the ship May 8th so no specific details to me yet. I will see him on the May 29 cruise. I did read however that when a Norwegian ship was stationed in Sochi, Russia for the Winter Olympics, the ship provided entertainment for the guests. I also think I remember (will go back and look at the thread) that the ship will provide rooms for members of the Olympic "family".

  5. Thanks.

We just sent email to our PCC, who is very responsive (and well connected - handy at times like this).

We're assuming he'll report back the same.

We also don't see any online indication of our Suite number as we previously did.

But we've got our original receipt documentation, and we sure hope we won't be sharing with some "new friends"

The suite # disappeared off my online personal page, but it remains on my E-docs. The website also apparently cannot determine that you already have all the specials (like the UBP and dining package) because it keeps asking me to buy them.

  6. Personally, I think any kind of show is better than Vocal Overdrive. I heard that Million Dollar Quartet is supposed to be great. Vocal Overdrive is just four people singing a cappella. Some may enjoy this, but we were bored by their three minutes during the Welcome Show on Escape and skipped the show later in the week.

I know for a fact that Million Dollar Quartet WILL be on the Getaway, my son is in the cast. He will play Carl Perkins. They boarded the ship yesterday May 8th. Don't write off the show! It is great! It is high energy and has everyone dancing in the aisles by the end of the show! Everyone can find something in the show to enjoy with the music of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl P and Jerry Lee Lewis. Even teenagers who are not all that familiar with the music love the show. My son just finished up a two year run with the show in Chicago. It ran there for over 7 years!
