We have reservations for Million Dollar Quartet on the May 29 sailing of the Getaway. The cast is boarding the ship May 8th. It should be up and running by then. Maybe all the on-line reservations are taken and you have to reserve when you get on the ship?

My boarding time says 12 noon. Are there any early times to board if you are in the Haven?

You will have a great time. I did hear some stories that they would not let some haven guest get in the haven line. Heaven lounge was at terminal C. Not sure what room you are in but also one couple stated they couldn't find the haven and missed the whole experience. Not sure how since they could have asked.

How in the world did they miss the Haven?! We sail on May 29th, are in the Haven and don't want to miss anything!

Million Dollar Quartet

I am new to cruise critic. I really enjoyed your review and learned a lot! Thank you!

I know this is called "cruise critic" but I totally agree with you blackwing! I have been on the Windstar to Turkey and Greece (which is the epitome of luxury cruises in my opinion with only 190 passengers), Holland America to Alaska and Carnival to the Caribbean and found them all to be wonderful in their own way! Attitude is everything! I also agree to not expect everything to be perfect either. This is my first time finding and participating on Cruise critic too. I am truly enjoying and appreciating the reviews. I have been learning a lot. Thanks everyone!

I am not nervous at all about sailing on the Getaway! We are sailing May 29th. Overall the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. We will have fun! The ports will change too. I would get bored going to the same ports. Plus the Million Dollar Quartet will be on the ship beginning in May! The ship will be rocking literally and figuratively!! And when it goes to Europe next year, we plan on being on it again!

That is just the line to get back on the Getaway?! Yipes! Who are they to tell you that some people in your party cannot wait in the shade?! Some folks, like myself have photosensitivity due to medication and cannot be in the direct sunlight very long without burning. I guess if I told them I had medical issues they would have let me. Or bring a long sleeved shirt and a giant hat!

The only place I would be using the cruise line is Belize since it's a tender port. Other than that, we book independent excursions. Have NEVER had an issue or even come close to missing the ship.

Hi! We are sailing on the Getaway May 29th. Does anyone have any thoughts or feedback about using private excursions vs NCL excursions? We have booked the following through the ship:

Roatan Bay: Maya Key Private Island

Belize: Cave tubing and rainforest trek

Costa Maya: Chacchoben Beach (with ruins and a beach)

Nothing booked for Cozumel yet.

We like swimming, the beach and snorkeling, but need a place to sit out of the sun.

in the NCL dress code, it says closed toed shoes for men in Le Bistro and Ocean Blue. My Hubby is bringing deck shoes as we have reservations in both places.

What problems would you be worried about besides the Zitka (sp?) virus?

I read that the Getaway would be housing members of the "Olympic Family" whoever they are. Maybe people who work for the Olympics or actual families of the athletes? How nice for them!
