  1. @dfish In the midst of things, I've lost track but I think today is: WELCOME BACK TO MICHIGAN DAY! I hope you & your sister enjoy many wonderful years in your Midland home. -Melisa
  2. @kazu ๐Ÿ˜ฑOh, No! Oh, No! No! No!๐Ÿ˜ฑ I hope between your injured foot and your missing BIL & niece that you along with your sisters can still make the most of your cruise. Have the best voyage possible! -M.
  3. I made the mistake of signing out of CC midday yesterday amidst all of CC's issues and I've just been able to sign in again now. Frustrating... So, FIRST, let me thank you all for your prayers, your kind words, your ๐Ÿ’™ and your ๐Ÿ† yesterday. My DSIL is home, on high doses of oral blood thinners, and comfortable. Obviously, her metastatic melanoma, the jugular blood clot, the extreme level of blood thinners, and being age 90 make for a tenuous situation. She is back to not wanting her brother (my DH) to visit and her new health challenges are exacerbating his memory issues. Yesterday, he didn't really grasp her changed situation. And, late last night, I found him wandering our condo hours after he had gone to bed. He's not done that before, he wasn't sure why he was up, nor what he wanted, but he did return to bed willingly. I don't know whether this is a new change in our dementia journey or just a bump along the road. I'm hoping it was just his mind on overload... sigh I've not tried to multi-quote your supportive words from yesterday, but I did try just now to catch each with a ๐Ÿ†Thanks๐Ÿ†. If I missed anyone, please accept my apologies. And, thanks for your support, -Melisa
  4. Another difficult update: My DH and I know many have my DSIL (his DS) in your prayers. Late yesterday, a new symptom led to her having a carotid artery Doppler exam which showed a large, potentially fatal blood clot in her jugular vein. Her cardiologist and oncologist immediately put her on a high dose blood thinner and are now determining if/what other treatment to consider. If you have a prayer to spare today, please send it her way. I have not caught up with Daily posts from yesterday or today. Know I send my ๐Ÿ™prayers๐Ÿ™ and my ๐ŸŽ‰cheers๐ŸŽ‰ to you as I catch up. -Melisa
  5. @aliaschief @aliaschief Your multiple attempts are much appreciated. Thanks! -Melisa
  6. @ottahand7 I couldn't post yesterday but know my ๐Ÿ™prayers๐Ÿ™ were and are with your DB. -Melisa
  7. @kazu ๐Ÿ˜ฑOh, NO! Oh, NO! NO! NO!๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ’งSharing tears with you.๐Ÿ’ง ๐ŸคฌSwearing on your behalf.๐Ÿคฌ ๐Ÿ™And, saying prayers for healing.๐Ÿ™ -Melisa
  8. @Vict0riann My condolences. May you be surrounded by wonderful memories of times with your dear cousin. With ๐Ÿ™prayers๐Ÿ™ for you. @ger_77 I hereby nominate you for a new CC name. Tonight you have every reason and every right to be called... GRRR_77 and express anger at what has happened to your flights! Daily-ites, all together now for @ger_77: GRRR! GRRR! GRRR!
  9. @StLouisCruisers Yes, college relationships often run deep in our state. My DH and his oldest son are MSU alums. I graduated from a university that started as MSU's Honors College. And our youngest DGS is planning on MSU. -Melisa
  10. @StLouisCruisers Hail to the Victors! Congrats on your team's victory. -Melisa
  11. And, in case it's additionally helpful, here's the depiction of that stroke acronym. It's been on our refrig since DH's 2016 cryptogenic stroke. -Melisa
  12. @Quartzsite Cruiser So glad the rainy transfer AND your trip home went well. Now, please take care of yourself as the rehab staff takes care of your DH. @Seasick Sailor What horrible treatment (or, actually, DENIAL of treatment)! I hope the VA removes this lab from its facilities list.
  13. @richwmn You've been our 4-Star Admiral of the Fleet (Report). Does this now make you the Daily-ite's 5-Star General, too? Congrats on all your BHB days, -Melisa
  14. @rafinmd Reading today's posts, I found that I'd read right past your morning mention of your medical concern. Sorry for not acknowledging it sooner. I hope your doctor and oncologist could offer some quick relief. With my ๐Ÿ™prayers๐Ÿ™, -Melisa
  15. @ottahand7 ๐Ÿ™ Continued prayers for your DB.๐Ÿ™ @kazu ๐Ÿ™Prayers for your BIL.๐Ÿ™ And, if that proverbial third thing you're wondering about happens here's wishes that it will turn out to be third thing's a charm. -M.
  16. Wow! That sounded so expensive in comparison to ours (granted, some years back) so I checked a few places listed on the CDC site. Granted, it's MI not FL, but here the Yellow Fever travel vaccination seems to run $125-175 per person. Since you are an experienced traveler, I'm guessing you've checked the CDC site for FL options but, in case it would be helpful: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/yellow-fever-vaccination-clinics/search Good luck whatever you do, -Melisa
  17. @smitty34877 @ottahand7 @Quartzsite Cruiser ๐Ÿ™Prayers for each of you, for your loved ones, and for easy solutions to the unexpected medical concerns.๐Ÿ™ -Melisa
  18. My thought exactly. DH is a diehard Lions fan -- and you have to be 'diehard' to support a team that last won a championship in 1957 and hasn't won a post season game since 1991. -Melisa
  19. @Quartzsite Cruiser I'm jumping with joy and doing a happy dance for you and your DH! I remember, like it was yesterday, the joy (& relief) I felt on the day we learned my DH was admitted to our preferred inpatient rehab following his stroke. What wonderful news! -M.
  20. @Quartzsite Cruiser ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ˜ดSleep well tonight. It's been a long day.๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ’ค -Melisa
  21. @kazu So sweet of you to give comfort to her in her grief while you are still in the midst of yours. ๐Ÿ™Prayers๐Ÿ™ for each of you, -M.
  22. @Quartzsite Cruiser ๐Ÿ™Prayers for you and DH tomorrow and in all his healing days ahead.๐Ÿ™ -Melisa
  23. @StLouisCruisers Please be assured that your prayers offer comfort even when cures aren't possible. -M.
