  1. Not real motivated after my massive lunch but I'm going to make my way to the gym and sauna now.
  2. I think it will be perfectly fine for Alaska maybe even better than a normal balcony. I would never want to sit in my cabin in the Caribbean looking out with the AC cut off but in Alaska where it will be cool, I bet it would be amazing to wild life spot and gaze at the scenery from within my cabin. I have never breathed fresher air in my life than the air in Alaska. Simply pristine.
  3. Another win for Cunard then, very few upcharge opportunities. Drink packages are obscene, but not necessary as you are allowed to carry on drinks as needed.
  4. For this simple inside cabin man, that's way more than I would pay but I'm sure that's better than what X charges, and it comes with a REAL balcony instead of a window claiming to be a balcony.
  5. I wouldn't hesitate to book it then. It's far nicer than Celebrity. It's quieter and the entertainment skews even older than Celebrity but the product is truly remarkable.
  6. Cunard was very nice. Truly a step above anything I've ever sailed. It also typically costs more than anything I've ever paid but I found a good bargain last year. The Alaska season this summer is very competitively priced. I've been eyeing it, it's just that darn cross country flight.
  7. The buffet today was really good. I wish it could be that good every day. But as much as I ate, maybe it is for the best. Very satisfying though. No bad bite on the plate and we both agreed the fish was as good as the fish offered on Cunard. Some pictures.
  8. There is always room for dessert....washed down with a nice glass of milk.
  9. Lunch buffet says St. Patrick's day. I'm heading up now to check it out.
  10. Festive desserts today at al bacio. My coffee is in the holiday spirit also.
  11. Back on the ship Stuart (or Stewart, or Steward, or room attendant, or Anthony) was cleaning the room so we went around the ship for a bit getting my mom some practice on her scooter. Back in the room now and I'm off to grab my coffee to cool off.
  12. Not the most exciting port but she did get some shopping in. Be expected to be asked if you want a taxi constantly. Beyond that, the locals seem unfriendly and unwilling to engage in any sort of conversation. Duty free shop right at the port. Walking across the street to the large mall. Not a lot of things for tourists but a lot of shopping opportunities in the shopping mall.
  13. No breakfast but I did grab a Nutella brioche from al bacio for a little snack. Just like lunch desserts, it was fantastic. Heading out now to check out Colon.
  14. Yes, they keep it out all day so I've enjoyed a glass or two each day.
  15. Good morning from Colon, Panama. We are officially on the second half of the cruise, oh how these things fly by but if this were a seven day cruise, it would be the last day so there's that. We decided against the Panama on your own excursions because my mom doesn't need three hours in port. There was another excursion that included a tour as well as shopping at the largest mall in Central America, but it again came with three hours of shopping and much as she likes shopping, she doesn't have the energy for three hours of it. She had no interest in a tour through the canal. So we are going to take a peek outside and see of there is anything nearby and then wander back.
  16. I really want more from the daily calzone. I've not seen it on other celebrity ships, but it's not been very good. When you say that at midnight after an evening of drinks, it's really really not good. Back in the room now winding down, next stop is a new one for me, Colon Panama. Good night everyone.
  17. Just cause the band wrapped up....dj still keeping the party going. Celebrate 🎶
