  1. So far, I have only seen this one. I know I’ve seen their photos and rankings before, just can’t find them. Like a typical male, I don’t know how to ask. the silver fella I met didn’t seem to know either.
  2. I will find the officers. Lunch was at the Local and it has actually been the best meal so far. Caesar salad and a chicken salad sandwich on a hearty multigrain bread. we then spent the afternoon walking to the botanical gardens. It was quite a long walk uphill, but easy going back! The gardens are beautiful, but I was a little tired by the time we got there.
  3. I meant the buffet. Seriously hope they consider an expansion for its sister ships. Thermal spa… I have the Getaway and the Bliss to compare to. First experience is I really like the decor and the nooks it has to offer for relaxation. It was pretty full and we still managed to find four heated loungers together for our group. I prefer the ice room and the pools on the Bliss the most. I love the charcoal sauna on the Prima. Probably my favorite. The experimental shower in the middle of the saunas is a must!! The locker rooms are significantly smaller on the Prima compared to the breakaway class. If there are multiple people changing, it makes it difficult to navigate. Overall, I have no complaints experimenting with a different experience, layout, decor, etc. I prefer some amenities from one and some from the others. Nothing that did not prevent me from appreciating all the hard work I do led up to this point of relaxation and enjoyment. Life is short.
  4. First thing this morning, Starbucks . How I’ve missed a large portion of coffee. We went to grab some oatmeal from the cafe. What an absolute mob scene. Like everyone has said. The cafe is a way too small. Even with all the other options. We are starting to begin the fjord into Akeuyri. We have an escape room planned, gym, and thermal spa.
  5. We have a dinner reservation at Hudsons for 7. Dining room is completely filled and it took us about an hour to get to the entree portions. No complaints. One thing is, portions are very small. Order extra. I am hoping my luggage arrived once I get back to the room.
  6. Got some shots of indulge food hall before the crowds. I like the look on this Local Bar.
  7. From first sight I absolutely love what they did with the atrium… this ship offers a lot of hidden seating areas. I am not sure how functional this will be during activities. starbucks with a view! Love. Btw… cruise director is Simon.
  8. Strolling around Deck 8. I don’t feel them on yet, but I notice some heaters. Infamous complaints about the slide. The side with the drop slide only seems to have one or two balconies affected, but the other side…. I wouldn’t want that through my balcony. Enjoying live plants on this deck.
  9. Observation lounge. Absolutely love the modern, almost industrial decor with lots of nooks. It is not nearly the size of the lounge on the Bliss, so I am wondering how this is during the evenings and sea days. Beautiful though. Storms have rolled out and completely overcast.
  10. we had two days where we had several meals. 2 bottles Icelandic water for the large size (large Fiji size I usually drink) was less than $8. Breakfast in a restaurant… açaí bowl, coffee, smoothie, and oatmeal. $40. 2 hot chocolates last night was about $11. dinner for 5 of us at the mountain lady restaurant was about $525. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. That included dinner, some apps, some drinks, and we all got dessert . Recommend dessert. All huge!
  11. Pack warmer than you think. I honestly at times could have used a thin pair of gloves and a hat. Sweaters, long sleeves, and a fall jacket are perfect. It feels like Halloween in the northeastern US.
  12. Just checked into our cabin. We have a spa balcony room booked. We just finished lunch in Hudson’s, which was readily available and peaceful. Good food, a little small on the portions, but did not leave hungry.
  13. We are checking in! But we decided to walk from the hotel to the pier along the harbor in the cold rain. We were the only idiots doing that but we really wanted to see the harbor. We felt like true Vikings
  14. Today is boarding day! But we have one last stop in Reykjavik. The Icelandic Phallological museum! Not quite what I was expecting. We did get coffee this morning on our walk this morning. I’m not sure how too concerned Icelanders are with diabetes. We were trying to find Splenda or any sweetener and got perplexed looks.
  15. We were booked on Jet Blue and Iceland air. On the way back we are booked on air Canada.
  16. Final stop- Blue Lagoon Amazing, as expected. Just completely unique to Iceland and unlike anything I’ve ever done . I’ve read reviews of it being crowded, and that wasn’t the case for us. Also, did not get that tourist vibe I hear all the time. We had plenty of space and were able to explore every nook. Very relaxing way to end the tour.
  17. Volcanic crater. we are currently on the tour. It is an 11 hour tour. no restrooms… 1 star
  18. Gullfoss Waterfalls. Such a highlight today. Breathtaking beauty but our guide only gave us 25 minutes. We did get to stop for a few moments to feed the horses.
  19. We did use the BOGO. We opted for two days in Iceland and one extra day in London.
  20. We used Viator. We have a large van with 19 of us. Couldn’t be happier. The artic one and Reykjavík excursions use the large tour buses.
  21. Day 2 - Golden Circle Tour Our first stop on the golden circle tour is where the continental divide is along with the largest lake in Iceland. Absolutely stunning. We booked this through viator. Our guide is very Icelandic. I meant to add yesterday… I love how many electric vehicles and plug in hybrids there are in Reykjavik I just bought myself a plug in hybrid and love it. On the negative, there is no temperature restriction on the sinks in public restrooms. I’ve scolded myself each time. I haven’t learned.
  22. We did. It was very simple. The airport is extremely small and easy to navigate. The busses were right outside. They do have a counter area to purchase on the spot.
