You don't even need a proxy vote statement. Our shares are part of a trust at a brokerage firm and we just went on line and printed a very simple statement within days of buying it. It's not as beautiful as the printed example, but I'm not sure they give things out like that anymore.
Yes, you can use any proof. We just find it easy to use the Proxy Vote. You don't have to black out any other info.

Meaning instead of the shares being held by your brokerage account, you actually have a fancy looking stock certificate that shows your 100 shares (or how many ever) of ownership in the the IHG. Something like this:
It's like owning a bearer bond except the stock certificate should be registered in your specific name. It's a very inefficient way of owning stocks and actual physical stock certificate ownership in public companies are virtually non-existent today and have been for many decades.
Not true! We've had Carnival stock with several brokerages and used our Proxy Vote statement as proof of ownership. Very easy!

I've been trying to find out if these are taping next January (2021), before our cruise. I can't find the correct website, despite searching. If you know where to look, please let me know.
Thanks,
Fern

Interesting!

We've taken both the first (May) and last (September) cruises to Alaska. On the last cruise of the season many stores will have marked down almost everything. The temps weren't too bad, either. There was some rain, but not enough to stop us :) !

Linda, I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. May his memory be a blessing to you all.

For a general transfer at the airport I tip $5.00-$20.00. It depends on how efficient they are, whether we stop for me to buy a meal, etc., and how much they listen to me 😁! And, of course, if they get me from "A to E" in the airport in good time. I tip the cruise transfer people $5.00.

I will be checking in to the Doubletree tomorrow...one night prior to my Royal Princess cruise...leaving my car there and taking their shuttle to the pier in the morning. They do shuttle for free to area restaurants as well...but not a concern for me since I'll have my car...Probably the nicest hotel in San Pedro...and in the prettiest location...
...If you just want convenience...and to relax...stick with San Pedro...but get a decent hotel...
Thanks for the detailed info!

Thanks for the info. Just checking my options.
Happy New Year!

Has anyone packed and shipped a trunk for a world cruise? Would it be very expensive? Would you ship it to the ship @ the port?
Thanks for any info,
Fern

I stayed at Hampton Inn/Airport-Cruise Port recently and it was very good. They have a shuttle from the airport and one to the cruise port ($10.00). I came in late so wasn't concerned about shopping, etc. There are a few restaurants nearby.

I looked it up and it takes 3-4 hours to get from MCO to Port Canaveral (if that's what you mean by PC). I'd suggest you fly in the day before if possible.

Congratulations, Lois! More cruising !

Just found out my Balcony cabin that I have been allocated has A Pullman bed for a third person if required . Is this going to be a problem, will it get it the way.
I don't need it so should I try to get it changed.
Many thanks
No, it won't be in the way. It will either fold out of the ceiling or the wall and stick out only a few inches when not being used. Not something you need to worry about ☺️. Have a wonderful cruise!

I am such a novice. Thank you for the information, but how does one go about posting on ones "roll call"?
On the Forums page, scroll down to the Roll Call section and find your cruise line, then ship, then date. If there's not already a roll call, start one :) !

Loved it! They are playing "You can't bite my face!" just like puppies. What a good time they are having.
Our (Jazz and I) first cruise together is on the Island Princess out of Ft. Lauderdale on March 29 thru the Panama Canal to LA. We live in So CA and will be flying to Florida. It's two weeks, but he is such a good traveler, I think (hope) he can handle it. I wonder if any other SDs will be on the ship?
Also, who/what is the hotel director? Are they on the ship? If so, is that their title on every ship? What are their duties?
Have you posted on your roll call yet? You may find others with SDs there.
The Hotel Director is on every ship and they take care of many things. Here's the link to a CC article: https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=3031
Hope you and Jazz have a wonderful cruise!

I would be concerned because there's a limit to how many guests can be booked on a ship. It's possible that they'd reach that limit before you added the other person. I don't know much about RCI, so maybe they don't sail full every cruise? Hope someone who's familiar can give you more advice.

Hi all! Never used the Carnival shuttle from the airport to port and then back to airport. Can anyone tell me where the shuttle is once we get luggage at baggage claim? This is at the Ft Lauderdale airport.
Thanks in advance!
There will be either a sign or a person holding a sign to tell you where to go. (You can take the Carnival shuttle if you want to ).

Everything was fine until yesterday. When I opened the Medallion app I got this message: "Compass is Currently Unavailable We have "all hands on tech" working to get back online."
There is a Back button, but it doesn't work. I'm okay with waiting until I board to get this right, but don't understand why all of a sudden I get this message?
Yet another glitch... .

I think a lot of us "old" people don't get sick because we've built up immunity in our younger years. We had no idea about hand sanitizer, etc. We played outside in the dirt and mud and we were exposed to other children's illnesses. In fact, some parents purposely exposed their children to measles, mumps and chickenpox to get them over with 😨! Not a good idea, but it was done. I've come home from a cruise with a cold, but I think I get it from flying, not from the ship. JMO

We usually order pizza as soon as we get to the hotel. The front desk can tell you who delivers, if that's something you might want to do. Are you sure your room has a microwave? I know some of ours didn't and there wasn't one on site that we could use.
I always carry packages of tuna and crackers just in case!

Thanks! I think I'll just go to the hotel and not try to win on a game show 😊!
