The magic button is toward where your elbow would be if your arm is resting on the armrest - toward the back of the armrest - underneath.  We always ask the flight attendant before take-off how to get the armrest up if we can't find it.

Some of the seats do not have moveable armrests so if you are booking your reservations and picking out your seats, you might take a look at seatguru.com for some insight as to seats that do not have moveable armrests.   Or call the airline and doublecheck.   But finding The Button is not always easy.....

Since we in the plane first, my husband, who has the aisle seat, can get the armrest up so he can turn toward the aisle and put his feet into the aisle when the window seat passenger comes aboard and that person can get into our aisle to their seat.  (Of course I have to get out since I'm in the middle, but that's ok.)

Thanks so much for the info!  Hope to be able to find that elusive Button on my next trip ☺️.

I am booked on a cruise in December.

Princess is offering a deal on cans of soda.  If I purchase these cans, do I have to drink them in the stateroom or is it shown as a credit on my account so that I can order them in a bar?

Neither.  You'll probably find a voucher for your soda when you board, and need to call Room Service to redeem it.  Sometimes we've found the soda already in the cabin, but not often.  After you get the soda you can take it anywhere you want.

I once watched the flight attendant push the "magic" button under the aisle armrest and found out how they work.  Now, I just push it and move the armrest for my husband myself.

I've tried to find this button for a long time!  Where is it, please?  I just have to apologise to anyone in the seat in front of me, since I can't "push" myself up. Being able to slide out would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

Yes, and thanks for asking! I guess it’s OK to say that it is called Traveling with Service Animals, by Henry Kisor and Christine Goodier, published by the University of Illinois Press on September 23 this year. Especially great input from Roz and Dianne, along with many other service dog teams around the US & Canada, about all forms of travel. As far as we know, it’s the only guidebook ever written for service dog handlers.

Thank you!  I bought a copy today.  I know I'll enjoy reading it and learning something new.

I am near the fires.  I live in a community that is surrounded by the hills in which the fires began and are still going.  The air is acrid and the winds are very bad.  I am able to stay in my home but last night it was touch and go.  I was preparing myself to leave when the winds shifted and we no longer had to worry about the flying embers.  Other folks were not as lucky and had to evacuate.

I'm thankful that Horty and I don't have to flee our home and are safe.  I hope that all of you are safe, as well, and have a good weekend!

That's very scary!  Take care and get out earlier rather than later.

I little rich for our retiree budget. But thanks for the reply. I am looking for something under $200 a night where have an airport shuttle included, free breakfast, very close walking distance to restaurants and a grocery store.....oh well, who ISN'T!😎

Doug, check the Hampton Inn Airport/Cruise Port North.  Depending on the date they're pretty reasonable.

  7. This is one of my pet peeves!  We've been on a lot of cruise's and never had a working restroom on a tour bus.  When we do get to a place with a restroom I spend the whole time in line to use it, missing the tour or shopping.  I need an "Easy" rated tour, with at least one restroom break every two or three hours.  I can't be the only one!

We always send laundry out around day 3 of our cruise. I noticed Princess has self serve laundry. Anyone done this? Since John can't carry anything but himself and the dog, I have to get everything else. One BIG suitcase, a shower chair, Oaklands carryon, Johns backpack and my purse.  So I'm pretty limited on how much clothing I can bring. ☹️

What ship are you sailing? I've found the self-service laundry to be fine.  Just try to use it at an "off" time, like when everyone's off on excursions, or really late or early.  I usually pack for 5-7 days no matter how long we'll be gone.  I usually do laundry twice a week. Unless it's changed, it's $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry.  You buy tokens to use in the machines.  I bring my own detergent sheets, but you can buy those, too.

Just learned an important feature about the App. If your cruise is not at the Ocean Ready State, you can add it or even logon to the application. The error message states that "Your information does not match our records." I gave the support line a bunch of grief over the terrible error message. It should tell you that Your Cruise is not Ocean Ready yet, not that your information is incorrect.

The support tech did not think my complaint was very valid, but grudgingly agreed to send the suggestion upstream. I doubt it will actually happen, but hey you never know. I've been in Software Development for over 30 years and one of the things I harp on is that error messages should be made as accurate and meaningfull as possible. If I had gotten an accurate error message it would have saved me the 10-15 minutes I spent on the site chat and then calling the support line.

Thank you!  I've been trying to log on all evening and getting that message!  Calling Princess for every error is a pain.  I'll wait until my cruise is closer.

    Hello there,

I came across this post, and thought I was in the wrong board, but I am in Florida departures.  I also copied the OP's post, and it shows Florida departures.  Is there another Florida departure board perhaps?

Port Canaveral Hotel and Cruise suggestions?

By jxtgreek, Saturday at 10:25 AM in Florida Departures

Post's get moved without any notice, so it often looks like they're posted where they were supposed to be!  This one was probably posted on the Carnival board originally.

  11. Thanks for all the answers.  I do agree that calling Princess is certainly hit-or-miss, that's why I'm asking here where someone may have done the same thing.

I'll bring two and pay for the extra one if necessary.  It's a 20 day cruise, so I don't know if that will make a difference.
