    1. Were you willing to pay for the suite?

    2. Why double the OBC, was it per person or per room?

    3. This option would allow all the people in the other room to go for free??.

I think my reasonings are very sound

    1) no but I did pay for 468sq feet. A grand suite is available which has 476 so i would gain a mere 8sq feet. Instead they offered for me to lose 234 sq feet.

    2) it was per room. But if i were willing to take half the sq footage i should be compensated. And lets be honest an obc that is spent on thier ship and on thier island they are still ahead. Even if you do not take into acount that they would then have an additional room to sell for a lot more then a few hundred dollars.

    3) i paid extra for the second room so why should I now pay the same amount for half the room.

I did my job I was very clear when I booked that my nieces would be in the second room. I repeatedly asked and confirmed that they could be in that second room as long as it had connecting door. They are the ones that failed. They Even admitted that the person that booked my room probably did not know the policy. They are the ones that took more than a year to find thier mistake. And now they want me to be penalized for what they did. Not acceptable.

  2. I booked my upcoming may 2019 symphony of the seas cruise in 2017 right after they came out. I booked 2 connecting rooms for my nieces and nephew and myself. I was very clear to the booking agent  when I booked that I wanted to make sure that we would be fine in two connecting staterooms. Fast forward to tonight almost a year and a half later I got an email from them. It said that I can not have a seperate staterooms becuase I am not the parent. So I called royal whom I just spent over 40 minutes on the phone with. And they said that we would have to change to 1 stateroom. Then they quoted me a price of $1000 more then what I was paying for 2 staterooms to change it. I explained I was not paying $1000 more to have half the room becuase they screwed up. Then after talking to the supervisor they oh so genourosly offered to give me me a room in the same category I was booked in for the same price I was already paying. So now I can have half the room for the same price. I asked about my obc. Well I can keep my obc for 1 room. So now I am given the option to have a room half the size and lose almost $200 in obc. So I asked about canceling since I have a nonrefundable deposit. Well of course they let me cancel I still have a couple weeks left before final payment. But they will not do anything about me losing my deposit. I am not happy. If I screwed up it would be one thing but I did not. If they had not taken well over a year to catch thier mistake I would not be this upset. But I already told my nieces and nephew at christmas that this was thier gift. But even so I may very well cancel this cruise. And if I do royal will never see me again. I have boycotted companies for a lot less. Here are the options that should have been offered but were not 1) keep my obc and upgrade to a suite ( i checked they are still available) 2) stay in the same category and double my obc ( not cut it in half like they offered) 3) switch to one room and half the obc (like they offered) but only pay for what I was paying for one room.

has anyone had a similar issue where royal screwed up? Is there a different number I can to get real results. I am justifably upset. I just can not believe they they are not willing to fix a mistake they made. And are trying to make me pay for it. Please help.

  3. i have read that it is possible that if there are not enough people booked on an excursion that they may cancel it. I would be going to greece in november of next year. I would need it to be in english. What do you think the odds of enough english speakers being there? What has your experience been? should I plan to do the ports on my own? The only port I really would prefer not to do on my own is athens due to the fact I want to fit a lot into that day the a ship excursion would be best. Tia

  4. I will be going on a med cruise the day I embark and disembark the ship will be in port from 11-5. How early can I arrive and how late can I stay? First time going on a cruise that has multiple embarkments. So a little unsure how this would work. Tia

  5. I am so glad I booked my cruise for next summer when I did. Last black friday I booked symphony of the seas for next summer. Within a month of booking it I got a couple of price drops and ended up upgrading to a boardwalk balcony. Over the last several months I have seen the price raising. I checked it today and with the wow sale my rooms would be 3x as much as what I paid for it. :)

  6. Weirdly enough they just added the onboard credit and I did not even contact them. I just recieved an email saying they were reissueing the invoice to add the onboard credit. Maybe the system was having issues when I booked this afternoon.

  7. just booked my 1st msc cruise. I booked a voyager selection cruise. I know I get a 50 obc with it b/c I status matched a few weeks ago to silver. However I am looking on website now and do not see anywhere that it shows my obc. Where should I be looking? Also i know it is per adult do I need to status match for my sister or will she automatically get it? Finally can I use the obc before we board for excursions or something? Thanks.

  8. I was surprised to see that one of the cruises I am considering has just sold out of bella with over a year to go. Since we may or may not get drinks it seems the only benefit that I would really get is room service. However I was just reading some old posts that said fantastica only get breakfast for free and the delivery charge waved for anything else. So I would have to pay for the actual food items. Is this true. Or is the post out of date?

  9. I am looking at a cruise for my first visit to europe. One of the cruises I am thinking about has a choice of boarding in venice or bari. It is the same cruise in every other way. Except a slightly higher price for boarding in venice. Either pre or post cruise My must dos are rome and Pompeii and anything else I have time for. Any pros or cons for either port would be helpful.

  10. Looking at a cruise for fall 2019. My sister may go with me. If does she would be interested in alcohol. For one of the cruises I am looking at I see that the fantasica package would be $40 per person. Currently that comes with 12 drink vouchers. However in the fine print it says this in only until march 2019. Does anyone have any idea what it will be changed to? I do not want to spend my money unless I know what we are getting.

  11. I was just reading a review that said msc charges a security charge every time they port. Is this true? And if so is it already built into the fair or something that you get surprised with at the end?

  12. Hoping to do a cruise in europe either next year or the year after. I have never been to europe and thought a cruise might be the way to go. I would most likey travel solo in a bella inside. I am mainly looking at a cruise to eat, sleep and transport me. I have cruised with carnival (as a kid), disney, and royal which I understand are pretty different from msc.

I am just starting to research and have some questions.

    1) do the ships have a nice quiet place to sit on the deck and watch the ocean?

    2) I almost always drink water. Which I know is free for americans. But every once in a while I like a glass of juice. Any free juice on board?

    3) my biggest problem cruising is that I am a vegetarian and do not like spicy food. What is the selection like?

    4) anything I should know as first timer with msc?

    5) i am a little confused by the tier system. Am i missing anything by booking bella?

    6) is tipping mandatory or at your discretion?

    7) if the price drops can I get an adjustment?

    TIA

  13. my sister is thinking of getting the deluxe drink package for her next cruise. She is trying to decide if she will get her money’s worth. She will be sailing on independence and will mostly drink beer, coffee, and margaritas. Any current pricing would help make the decision. Tia

  14. I have some family members booked for a cruise later this year. Unfortunately one of those people is very ill. While our family is very hopeful the doctors are not. This person has already been in the hospital for close to three months. They are booked with a nonrefundable deposit and have no travel insurance. Right now we are trying to decide if we should cancel the cruise and lose some money or wait and possibly lose it all. They actaully have two cruises booked one in sixish months (paid off) and one that the ill person was going to surprise their spouse with in a couple of years (deposit only). Last night I was asked about possibly canceling the cruise. I do not want them to cancel because I feel like it is giving up hope. I do not think I can give my family objective advice on this.

  15. As someone who needs to book accessible I do not like that royal opens these up to people that do not need them. This is one of the many reasons that people in a wheelchair can not wait to book. As a matter of fact I booked oasis for this december and the room type I booked has been sold out since the week I booked it last December. So despite what royal allows think about what is right.
