  1. Not true...Communicate for free using Carnival's forums board!

Yes, if you're onboard and want to to text without cost, the cruiser and the kiddies at home can both register on Carnivals forums board called "FUNVILLE."

    --------------------------

Looks like this: Under PLAN drop down TAB: FUNVILLE Home > Share > Forums > Currently Onboard

    --------------------------

Choose a common name....Like eq. "MOM AND DAD ON VICTORY"... id-ing yourselves to each other, then post back and forth just like any other TEXT THREAD.

    Check it out:

CARNIVAL SHIPS ALLOW YOU TO ACCESS THEIR HOME SITE WHILE ON-BOARD!

Be sure to give us a link to your thread so we can all say hi too. :p

  2. There's no market for used cruise ships right now. All of the new start ups are buying new. Carnival and RCI both have the same conundrum right now. Neither really have anywhere to place their old ships and no one's buying. Look for them to hang around for a while.

  3. I did a Google search on the Paradise and saw a Wikipedia site that indicated it was scheduled for a "mass" dry dock in June 2016 and would become the Sky. I suppose like the Destiny became the Sunshine? However, the dry dock schedule doesn't show anything schedule for the Paradise. Is this true or some Wiki fiction?

    Fiction

  4. i'm sure the word you want to use is discrimination and i'm fairly sure by your context you want to use it in a bad light but in reality, every single person here 'discriminates' in one way or another. the military discriminates based on one's health, private schools discriminate based on one's ability to pay, fraternities and sororities discriminate based on one's gender. and even what you have for dinner is discrimination. you pick a ribeye over a t-bone because it tastes better, you just discriminated. the fact that cc doesn't discriminate over who accesses the site makes it a public, not private, site. ;)

The fact that you can be denied entry, or kicked out at anytime, for any reason makes it a private club with windows.

  5. Carnival Horizon sounds too much like Event Horizon .... scary movie

In defense of Brand Ambassadors ... I'm a kind of brand ambassador at work, tasked with passing along information from corporate. Believe it or not, corporate changes their mind, sometimes last minute without warning. Pity poor brand ambassadors who can only sing the song they are given.

    How about Carnivale? or Festivale?

    Panorama? Prospect?

    Zephyr? Tradewinds?

    Enchantment? Bewitched?

They could start a whole new class with Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.

Or Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

  6. While I can understand hesitation in taking a Brand Ambassador at his word regarding a not-yet-released news item (regardless of how unimportant it really it), when compared to the original "source" of a random Wiki editor with nothing to back it up, I personally would assume the Brand Ambassador was more correct than that Wiki editor.

I agree. As we have seen in this thread, any random Joe on the street that feels compelled and has a motive, can take matters into their own hands and make alterations to Wikipedia as they see fit. It comes down to which Wiki editor has the more believable guess. Carnival will let us know what the name is when they get ready. I won't be losing any sleep over it.

  7. And thank's to JH's comment, I can gladly state, once again, that the name is definitely NOT Fiesta. It seems there are some that are heck bent to deny a person their opinion if they are not affiliated with the cruise line.

In fairness, you originally made a blanket statement while not providing us with a credible source to back up your statement. JH is not always right, nor is he always forthcoming. He is, after all, a company spokesperson and an entertainer at that. Carnival is known to hold their hand close until they are ready to make an announcement about a coming announcement that invariably gets delayed numerous times before they finally break their often times underwhelming news.

With that said, I doubt Fiesta will be the name. Personally, I thought that Breeze and Sunshine were overly cutesy names for cruise ships, so anything is possible.

At the end of the day, your guess is as good as mine.

  8. Couldn't agree more. It's pathetic. Especially this Je Souhaite character who stalks JH so much he probably knows when he takes bathroom breaks.

Actually, there's no need to stalk him to gather that information. He feels compelled to tell us when he's constipated and when he's regular.

  9. I got involved in this. I saw a blog that posted an entry yesterday declaring a possible "leak" from CCL. I went to the wikipedia page, and since I have a wikipedia account and have done edits in the past (this isn't bragging, literally anyone with internet access can edit wikipedia, which is the big reason you have to take anything on wikipedia with a grain of salt), I checked the edit history. A user with the handle MasterGarfield added the name fiesta to the wiki, when an edit is done, the user can enter a note why the info is being added, or a citation, showing a link to the source of the info. His note said " a lot of people are saying the second vista is called fiesta".

That was the basis of this speculation/rumor/silliness.

I took it upon myself to remove this info from wikipedia, and cite my entry with an article in which Carnival says the ship is as yet unnamed.

I'll be LMAO if it really does end up being called Fiesta, now.

  10. That remains a former Celebrity cruise ship now run by Pullmantur (part of RCI). The name Horizon is taken, along with her sister ship's name, Zenith.

That's never stopped other cruise lines from hijacking each other's names. Count how many Magics, Dreams and Splendors are floating around out there.
