  1. There is a bill breaker machine in the middle of the casino on deck 7 right near the main hallway and spiral staircase. You can simply break large bills for smaller right on the ship as you need them. There is no reason to go to the bank to carry a large stack of ones on board with you.

    Good to know! thanks

  2. Thanks for such a great review. Could you tell me a bit more about the Buffet's Seafood night? We were thinking of the Manhattan Room that night but then I saw JW's mention of the Seafood at the buffet in his review. I haven't really heard anything about it other than that. I believe there's another Seafood night at O'Sheehans but that it's not nearly has good/comprehensive ? Does buffet offer lots of good choices that night? Thanks in advance!

  3. I believe Spice H20 also has a rock grotto/cave sort of water feature.

(We keep ending up on the same threads, shame we're not quite on the same sailing.)

The grotto, how could I forget? I'm looking forward to trying that out!

Haha, yeah we do ... I think you're the week after me. We'll just miss each other. Hope you have a great cruise :)

  4. Don't let these things give you a bad impression--as the cruise goes on, people usually spread out and it becomes much more relaxed. You might run into a crowd during one of the shopping-district sales, and I'm sure you've picked up by now that the pool deck is a madhouse on sea days, but it's usually possible to zig when the crowds zag.

Thanks for the tips! I have been reading every review I can get my hands on. There are so many fabulous ones - Gambee's Ultimate Escape Review being just one of them. This board has been so helpful to me...I hope to do the same for others after my trip.

Skip the buffet for lunch on embarkation day. Go to one of the dining rooms (Savor or Taste). You'll have a relaxing meal with hardly any one around. Choose the dining room that has the best view (they are across from each other) and ask for a window seat.

Thanks hawkman. Savor (or Taste, depending on view) is definitely our plan for embarkation day. I think having a nice lunch will really kick-off our vacation right and set that "WE'RE ON A CRUISE" feel from the start. :)

  5. I was reading Gambee's review of Oasis recently and I just can't believe how hard they tried to recreate an ocean-free suburban retail plaza. This is the picture that made go "yes, I am literally never going on that ship".

Agree. Those kind of pictures have long made me afraid to give cruising a try, but I'm excited to finally be going.

  6. Unique Feature

I just don't understand why you'd create a ship that routinely sails beautiful Caribbean waters and not give people every opportunity to SEE the water!

Well, NCL has hit a grand slam home run with the Waterfront.

Precisely the reason I booked this cruise (our first). I had friends who cruise frequently recommending Royal but in researching, I didn't like the promenade running through the center of the ship. I kept thinking 'where is the water?' Absolutely fell in love with the Waterfront space and the restaurants and bars with outdoor seating. I keep reading great things about it and am excited to experience it for ourselves. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for info!

  7.

How did you feel about the location? We certainly felt the ship moving more on Deck 13 than the ones below. I hope you enjoyed your cruise! Thanks for being great neighbors :) I hope we weren't bad....:p

We don't sail until October and your review is making me even more excited - it will be our first :) Really looking forward to the food and afternoons of relaxing on our balcony when not lounging in the sun. Thanks for the info :)

  8. CABIN -- Stateroom 13834 Mid-ship Mini-Suite

Our cabin is just a few doors down from where yours was so I'm glad to hear it was pretty quiet. How did you find the location as far as getting here and there? I think we're most likely to take the stairs if we can, depending on how many decks we're going.

Also, I'm curious of your vantage points in port - we might do Sail Away in our cabin from one.

  9. I agree it would be helpful to know. You might try looking at the most recent Dailies... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2358689 I had booked the Supper Club wanting to see the Frankie Vallie tribute for our Anniversary. Then I happened to be looking over the dailies and saw that on Thursdays (day of Anniversary) the Supper Club is NOT Frankie Vallie but Brenda Braxton. We're not interested in that so we cancelled. We'll just wing it when we're on board. Who knows if that tribute will even be there when we sail.
