Just love your review ~ I'm so ready for my cruise!

I'm booked in a mini-suite, deck 13, starboard, in October. The NCL planner said our cabin was only slightly bigger (about 40 sf) and that our bath would be noticeably different in that it is larger than balcony room, has two sinks and a rain shower with several shower heads. We requested deck 13 as so many reviews talked of noise from above (or below, depending on location) and we wanted to be on a deck with cabins both above and below us.

I couldn't help but notice the small tabletop fan in your cabin...did you bring that from home? I sleep with a fan every night and am considering bringing mine ...would rather not have to but I need the airflow - maybe I can get by with leaving the balcony door open a bit...

Does the texting and calling others on the ship work with both iOS and Android? I have an iPhone and everyone else I am travelling with has Androids.

Answer is Yes. You don't have to purchase the text/call plan. The app will automatically connect to the ships WIFI once onboard and allow you to make reservations for dining/entertainment etc. granted space is available

 

I've used the app on Epic, Getaway and Escape and it's pretty neat. Definitely convenient

So I mastered the ropes course and whoa that was fun!!! So glad I got past that first plank and stuck to it. Yay me!

Yay you! I'm hoping to try new things on this cruise but not sure I can handle the ropes. Heights are not my friend.

Do you know if you can make dinner reservations with iConcierge if you only download the app but do not purchase the texting/call option? I know you can view dailies but I'm not sure if you can do more than just look.

Not sure where to post this but I went to Norwegian home page today and saw an OBC Promo (up to $500) ending tomorrow... only thing was, I hadn't heard/seen anything about it and I booked us 2 weeks ago. Researched a bit and it looked like our fare/cabin should qualify. Just called my Norwegian Cruise Planner and sure enough, we were qualified. He made the change and we just got a $140 OBC in addition to our UBP and SDP. :)

ETA - just learned this is a DASH SALE. Ends tomorrow!

I think most people put the kindle under their towel and go swim. Maybe I should be more worried, but generally things are safe.

Can anyone tell me what people generally do during the day by the pool with say their Kindle and/or cell phone? I'm not really sure what to do with it when I go for a hop in the water or down the slides. Are there lockers near the pool?

What do people do when they go ride the slides? Do you just leave your stuff? It's just me and DH traveling so if we want to go together.... I've read they won't let you go down the slide with ANYTHING in your pocket but I'm assuming husband can keep our cruise cards on him?? I've found these forums to be so helpful with insight. We're first time cruisers and really have no idea. TIA
