Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Checkout the screenshot below. It lists 2 Unlimited Premium wifi plans with a difference in price of $73. I called NCL and the CSR said that she could only see the one, more expensive plan and had no idea what the other one was. Anyone here know the difference?
  2. Ok, good advice. Thank you! Last time I was on the Breakaway, it rained everyday. So, I never ventured to Spice h2o. And about 4 years ago when I was on the Getaway, I was never able to get a seat in Spice h2o the 3 or 4 times I tried. And to be clear, I'm not opposed to kids being around. But going to the main pool involves me walking around waaaaay too long looking for a chair while carrying my girlfriend's beach bag, which she seems to stuff half of the cabin into!
  3. I'm considering buying Vibe passes for my upcoming cruise on the Breakaway, but I'm wondering if we'll enjoy it. For background, I'm 45 and my girlfriend is 39, though we both think we're still 25. On our other cruises, we've danced every night until the after hours clubs kicked us out. And we leave our cruises with a bunch of new friends (not the upside down pineapple type though). In fact, we made such good friends on our last cruise on the Breakaway that they begged us to change our next cruise from Encore to Breakaway to sail with them again. So, having said all that, I'm curious if The Vibe would be right for us. Is The Vibe more of a party atmosphere or is it like The Solarium on RC cruises where it looks like it's nap time at the retirement home? Don't get me wrong...if you want to sleep 24/7 on vacation, that's fine with me. It's your vacation, and you should do what you want! But that's not really our favorite vacation activity. We like to listen to fun music, dance, and meet as many people as possible. I searched through these forums and found a post where someone mentioned there wasn't even music playing in the Vibe because other passengers complained about the music because they evidently wanted it to be a quiet zone. Is that the case on most sailings and Vibes? Or was that a rare exception? If the Vibe has a fun party atmosphere, I'd love to get passes and/or a cabana so that I'm not circling the main pool like a vulture looking for an open seat. But if it's more of a library atmosphere, I'd rather save my money. What's been your experiences? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  4. I've only cruised out of New Orleans one time, and it was during the restart when the Breakaway was only at 30% capacity. So the port was basically empty without a single line or wait to board. Is the New Orleans port usually a crowded mess? More so than the Florida ports?
  5. I know that with The Key there's often a section of reserved seats at some shows. But if you have The Key, do you still need to make a reservation for the show? Or can you just show up without a reservation?
  6. If you take Uber to the port, does security let the Uber in even though the driver isn't cruising? Or does Uber have to drop you off outside of security?
  7. The last time I cruised on Oasis, I stood in line for about an hour just to get into the terminal. Then another hour or so inside the terminal. And then by the time I got on the ship, many of the shows were already booked during the times I wanted, the Windjammer was packed, and the pools were packed. I cruise on Harmony in a couple months. I'll probably be getting the Key because I'm not in a suite, I don't have Diamond+ status, and life is too short to wait in line.
  8. The other silly part is that most of the self administered tests say that they are no longer considered accurate after 30 minutes.
  9. I'm young(er). I eat healthy. I take plenty of vitamins and workout daily. I've had covid at least twice now (at least once before the vaccine and once after being vaxxed). The worst of it was a fever for a day. If I were to get it on a cruise, I wouldn't go to the med center. I'd take some Nyquil and wait it out. So, for me, I'm not worried.
  10. Accepted Tests Guests can now take advantage of at-home antigen tests (even unsupervised ones!) to satisfy this requirement. Proof of a negative test can be the printed or digital results, a clear photo of your self-test result, or your actual self-test in hand. To learn more about our accepted tests, visit our FAQ. So silly! At this point, they're just covering themselves from lawsuits so that they can say "we didn't know they forged the test results!" Whatever. I'll take all the relaxed protocols I can get!
